Syria Risk

Syria Risk

The year is 2015. Daesh and the Assad Regime hold down most of Syria with the Peshmerga and the Rebels fighting hard to make gains.

Dubs unlock US or Russia (roller of dubs decides) as a playable character.
Trips invites the UN in as an NPC that expands with the Mupdate. They can be attacked, but it requires 2 hits to take 1 T.

Multiple rollers allowed. Rolls counted serially.

will you be using serial rolls again?

Can you add in greater israel with blue color phamalam?

Roll for ISIS to capture Kobane.

Will do.

stand by m8, roll post coming up when we get 1 more player. I will play as 'sherga until someone wants it.

2min warning

if the answer is no, then i will take Assad

roll to take the south

I said i would, but i can not. this is a lame question, but how do i do it your way? explain it to me like i am potato pls...

i explained this last night...
if someone has a city surrounded, and their next roll is high enough to take the city, then the city should be theirs no matter if the opposition rolls first to resurround the city. because they started from the mupdate at the same time

*and said roll was to take the city

January 2015

EXTANT FORCES
>Israel
>Daesh
>Assad Regime

LEADERLESS FORCES
>Lebannon
>Turkey
>Jordan
>Peshmerga (OP place holding)
>Syrian Rebels

FIRST ROLLS TO HERE
>non serial once i understand how to do it.

K.

defend and kill rebels as well as isis working out from damascus

Expand in the far East unilaterally.

Roll for Isis to capture Kobane.

Waiting on teh Juden

BE ADVISED ALL PLAYERS
>must roll 6+ to take Stronghold
>must have complete surround

Israel proceeds with the invasion of lebanon and invades rebel land in the south

February 2015

Israel invades Lebanon and Southern Syria.

Assad begins to consolidate the southwest.

Daesh assaults Kobane but is repulsed.

Peshmerga march West from Kurdistan.

Pesh expand from Kobane

defend>kill isis and rebel forces in the south

Roll to capture Kobane.

more rebel territory, trying to avoid attacking assad

I can help you kill isis if you give me a passage to attack phamalam

take the eastern border and go NE then

this feels so wrong, but i'll go with it. still think it makes no sense in an asymmetrical conflict, but w/e

no pass through mang. c'mon. i understand if you need to ragequit, but thems the rules.

You have to think of all turns as taking place simultaneously. That is how combat actually works.

March 2016

Daesh takes Kobane, but the Peshmerga enact a surround.

Assad expands in the South, but Israeli tanks are a formidable threat.

Genocide the Kurds.

Peshmerga siege Kobane

if OP allows ceding then cede the southern and eastern border Ts to the kikes, then kill rebels and isis closest to damascus

this is how it should be done!!! city swapping hands and battling it out!!!

Do you want to open up USA or Russia?

Let's say you can cede 5T. but don't abuse it pls. Also, Israel and Syria are sworn enemies :/

so given:
the city stays with Daesh, but they make no gains. does that make sense?

go through eastern border towards isis

It makes sense, yes, but it is inconsistent with how you adjudicated the previous turn. Pick a rule and stick with it.

Open Russia
and Assad is a cryptojew

no lost city should have swapped hands again with that 8

fair point. will correct. thanks for helping me out flam

USA AND RUSSIA NOW OPEN

April 2015

Intense fighting in the North between the Peshmerga and Daesh.

Assad makes massive gains in the South, but Israel takes Jordan off the map and expands into Daesh held East.

surround allepo

Capture Kobane.

55>6

attack isis territory

Expand from Kobane.

in no risk map i have played or OP'd would that logic hold up, but make a case for it i guess...

so US now open too i guess

That's what I rolled, a 55.

dubs is worth 20

But there is a delineation between a siege and a front.

Front roll of 33 v. a 0 = 20 - 10
Siege roll of 33 = siege fails.

sieges are the last number.

so 6+ is last digit by your reading of the rules and not the value of the roll? that is fair i guess, but would have read it the other way around is all

Yes. by my interpretation, siege rolls and T rolls have different rules.

are you ok with this?

Mup'd once wubbs rule is decided...

or in 2min.

It's your decision.

cool, but will you edit the map to actually have rules in it in the future? this is a good map but only has 1 line of rules

Ok, but that means your siege fails and Pesh gets 20T, JSYK

yes. still getting the hang of GiMP, and there text entry tool is retarded (or just complicated)

May 2015

Israel makes massive gains in Daesh held East.

Regime forces surround ineffectual rebels.

Daesh is rekt in the Third Battle for Kobane.

OPEN FACTIONS
>USA
>Russia
>Turkey

Expand in all directions out or Ar-Raqqah.

Peshmerga attempt to break the siege of Aleppo, avoiding rebel Ts.

take that one isis fortified city

take allepo

you did not have a surround, putting your wubbs into ISIS or wherever you tell me...

well done

June 2016

Daesh clings to Raqqa for dear life as Israel is now the second largest territory holder in Syria.

Regime Forces take Aleppo as the Peshmerga sweep in from the East.

...

Peshmerga siege Aleppo.

kill the young turds

Break out of Ar-Raqqah.

Could it be that you mix up the YPG with the Peshmerga?
Never mind, have fun with your game.

wow

waiting on Juden...

Did not build map, but you are mostly correct. i have been a party to this argument before, and from what i have read there are actual Pesh units in Syria, but you are correct that the YPG is the vast majority of Kurdis forces. if you peruse the bread, you will see that we have come to the conclusion that it needs a lot of fixes. Good eye.

iknorite.jpg

siege the city

July 2015

Israel takes Raqqa, but Daesh sweeps through their supply lines and reconquers a ton of Central territory.

The Regime defends Aleppo and pushes the Kurds out of the Northwest.

kill daesh

Kurds expand from Kobane.

Going mobile

Retake Ar-Raqqah.

Defend our gains around Aleppo then finish rebels off

Y YOU NO ROLL. i mean, i know why, but damnz

October 2015

Daesh recaptures Raqqa.

Israel pushes ISIS forces back from around the city.

Regime makes minor gains against the Rebels in the West.

Kurds make minor gains around Kobane.

Break out of Ar-Raqqah.

ID

September 2015

Raqqa changes hands again, leaving little more than a crater farm littered with burned out tanks and the corpses of Jews and Arabs. Christmas came early this year.

Assad consolidates in the Northwest, but the Kurds continue their push towards Aleppo.

Retake Ar-Raqqah.

defend city
spills attack isis

Kurds attack Israel in the East.

Defend and kill rebels. They must be rounded up

All 4 or five of them

October 2015

Daesh takes the city of Raqqa, and actually holds it this time.

Kurds smash into the Israelis in the East and obliterate their salient.

Assad continues to purge the rebels from the West.

Kurds continue their offensive against Israel.

Eliminate Israel in the North. Spillover to attacking Assad.

Defend and kill rebels
Seize their US supply shipments

Actually, there are very few Peshmerga in Rojava. Barzani sent 200 from the KRG (in Iraq) during the Kobane siege, but they left.
The Kurds in Syria are divided politically. The bigger side, the PYD (it's military arm i the PYG) is basically an offshot of the PKK. They are anarcho-communalist-feminist-commi-marxisto-libertarian-whatevers. They have a complicated relationship with Assad (longtime supporter of the PKK in the past when it suited him against turkey, shaky truce with the YPG, but he's still no friend of the Kurds). and the rebels (most are islamist assholes and/or Arab racists, the official opposition says they are aligend with Assad).
The other side is the ENKS, the Kurdish National Council, sponsored by Barzani (and even founded in Iraqi Kurdistan. They are are a bit tribalistic, more traditional nationalist and threw in their lot early with the official opposition (who don't like them actually, since most of them are still Syrian nationalists and/or islamists). The YPG didn't want any competition at first, so they allow armed forces of the ENKS, but later they invited the Syrian Peshmerga to their new SDF-group (70% YPG+ Arab/Christian allies). Pesh declined because they said SDF are too close to Assad.
YPG has tens of thousands of fighters, the Syrian Peshmerga only 3000 (according to their sources, so probably even lower).
The YPG is seen as the force who can actually protect the people from ISIS (and Assad by not fighting him, though no one will say that), so they have the backing of the populace. ENKS is insignificant in compaison and doesn't really do anything. When the rebels call them to defend a rebel town in near Afrin, they refused, since they don't want to come into a situation to fight the YPG.
(top YPJ, the women unit of the YPG. They aren't just props, they are about a third of the whole fighting force.
Bottom Syrian Peshmerga. As you can see, they are trained, armed and paid by Barzani's KRG)

Tl;dr

no one is forcing you, but I'm sure at least one person is interested

thanks for the info. i am quite interested.

Israel is finally pushed out of Eastern Syria.

Daesh has regained much of what it lost.

The rebels are moments away from annihilation.

Israeli forces are on a general hold.

Kurds attack ISIS in the East.

Attack the Kurds. Advance on Kobane.
