this is wrong. Vitiligo is an autoimmune disorder where your immune system attacks the pigment in your skin. Michael Jackson literally bleached his skin to even out the tone after developing vitiligo.
I say it attacks pigment and not specifically melanin because someone with vitiligo will slowly lose tattoos as well. Their skin eats away at any pigment they find, normally starting out around moles or freckles creating halos of non-pigmented skin until the spot is completely gone.

It's really hard to believe there are people out there so caught up in not being racist it comes off as being even more racist when they feel the need to generalize traits of a minority group so that no one is offended.

I'm not even white, but shaming light skinned/White characters or people just because they are white/light skinned is probably one of the dumbest movements I have ever witnessed.
