Character is about to do something that will harm their health

>character is about to do something that will harm their health
>instant cut to wailing ambulance as they do it

I wonder what the first show was to do this

>Character throws something off screen
>Glass_breaks.mp3 and cat_wail.mp3

>ambulance just drives by the character unrelated

I like these.

Simpsons, the episode where Apu gets fired

>Character falls off a cliff or crashes a bicycle
>Bursts into flames

...

This always gets me.

>character trying to fix something or make food
>heat was not involved though it bursts into flames anyway
I love little non-sequiturs like that.

>character falls from great height
>YAAAAAAA-HOO-HOO-HOO-HOOOEEEYYYY!!!

>Not car_crash.mp3

>character exits in a hurry from a place
>loud_footsteps.mp3 door_opening_and_closing.wma car_tires_screech.wav

>character jumps/ is pulled off screen to fight or get beat up
>other characters cringe or turn away witnessing the scene as objects fly on screen from the direction the action is happening while the camera vibrates with ever blow.
Bonus if the sound effects are really good.

>"Be careful! This isn't a cartoon!"

>it's the public domain "bear" roar

>'"don't you worry, X knows exactly what he's doing"
> -Jumpcuts to X in a panic-
>"I have no idea what I'm doing!"

This and variations of it are my favourites

sauce on that pic

>Character Busts Through Wall
>Hole is the exact silhouette of the character

they always use the same sounds for babies

seconded

>animation studio running out of budget
>either the art looking worse or cutting to live-action scene of animator getting fired

>do you know what this means?
>I'm not getting paid?
>WORSE! No money means no animation!

>character says "At least it can't get any worse"
>it instantly gets worse

The greatest excuse to have Tara Strong at a car wash ever

Especially if it starts raining.

...

>character is about to do something that will harm their health
>scene transition to them being carried in an ambulance
>it turns out that the character was injured in a completely unrelated incident

So cliches that we love thread?
>Someone nonchalantly throws something away behind their backs
>There's a cat noise or explosion in the back, but it completely ignored

>Wait, if you're here, then whose doing x?

>character gets asked how something physically impossible works
>gets interrupted or drowned out as they explain it

>character quickly grabs an object they need in an emergency
>camera pans to show that taking the object has put someone else in grave danger

>character walks into a room
>sees or hears something they don't like
>turns and walks back out

>new character is revealed after or during the credits of the episode

Sauce

I know a crop when I see one. Gimme dat possibly tomboy.

Person with the shittier weapon or no weapon at all wins against the bad guy who has the better weapon.

I loved it when squidward crashed his bike and blew up in a mushroom cloud

funnily enough, subverted by The Simpsons, during the road trip to Itchy and Scratchy Land where Marge suggests Homer should find a place to rest, but Homer says he's fine, he's not tired at all.

Cut to the car hitting a telephone pole and exploding, then zooming out to Bart looking out a hotel window saying "whoa, glad that wasn't us"

> character crashes into a tree.
> ejects out of car seconds later.

>character looks into the room for five seconds
>they have the same facial expression walking in and walking out

>"I will never do X"
>cuts to them doing X

I loved when Freakazoid talked about this in that one episode.

>We literally cannot lose
>I can't believe we lost

>character gets pulled offscreem and gets in a fight
>he walks away unscathed and the other guy comes out battered and bruised

>Characters try to pull off some sort of cartoon trope
>It's played completely straight and doesn't work at all

>MY LEG!

It always amazes me what a brilliant gag this was. Just as simple as taking a common joke, adding their own personal sound to it, and then making it a consistent running gag throughout the entire series.

>the character yells oh yeah

>car crashes violently, driver is severly injured
>2 seconds later the airbags decide to active

>Quick, act natural!
>incredibly awkward poses, forced smiles, whistling

I prefer explosions myself.

>one of them pretends to be an animal and starts eating grass

>MC is loosing against finally boss dude
>Theme music starts playing

>it uses the stock bursting into flames noise

oh it's beautiful.

>eagle scene
>hawk sounds

What happened to Spongebob

These jokes were and still are fucking amazing

>characters need to get somewhere quickly
>pull on the side of the screen, jumping to the next scene

>characters need to act like they are doing something to fool someone else
>the acting they do is incredibly awful

>Tara Strong at a car wash

Welp, that's all I'm gonna be thinking about for a while.

If anyone needs me, I'll be in my bunk.

>It works anyway

I used to hate that gag but that escene really gets me

>character is trying to talk to another character in a noisy place and has to shout
>noise stops right before character finishes talking and they shout something embarrassing

>Character looks notably or completely different
>"You look different. Did you do something with your hair?"
>bonus points if hair is one of the few things that didn't change.

>the seagulls in Rocket Power made elephant noises

>Character walks in, obviously wearing a cheap disguise
>You'd have to be retarded to think it's anyone but that character
>It actually IS someone completely different

w-what? I don't remember this

>Character puts on an incredibly obvious disguise that anybody with half a brain would be able to figure out
>It works

>Character listening to/watching a recording
>React to the recording
>Recording responds
One more thing get your ass to mars

They made a bunch of random noises iirc. I remember one making a seal noise and another that was just a dude gargling.

>The opening theme/credits has slight changes or alterations etiher because of something related to the show's storyline or for laughs
Ben 10, Stardust Crusaders, and Family Guy are surprisingly some of my favorite examples.

Instantly thought of this before entering the thread. Still makes me laugh to this day.

>character says they need a disguise
>character in a really bad disguise shows up in the next scene
>they get caught
>they turn out to be a completely different person who happens to look like that person in a bad disguise

>Character fearfully goes into a dark area or whatever to get something
>Gets it and quickly runs out
>breathes a sigh of relief
>a huge arachnid thing is on their back as they walk away

If you read webcomics, something along those lines becomes a recurring gag in The League of Super Redundant Heroes.

An absolute favorite.

>followed by car_crash.midi tire_rolling_by_on_fire.flac character_wondering_why_hes_taking_so_long.ogg

>"Relax, nothing bad will happen."
>cut to everything okay "See, I told you nothing bad would happen."
>cut again to bad things happening

you think an episode could be made with the entire contents of this thread?

as for which show, you decide

>
I feel like Gumball could make an episode like this where they just fall into cliche after cliche, realizing they're trapped in cliches and deducting that the only way to break free is to do something original. They believe they did something original and broke the cycle they wrap up with a cliche ending, before it cuts to black they all realize they're still trapped

>character backs into another character who's standing there angry
>reaches back and feels them without turning to look

...

That's meta as fuck

youtube.com/watch?v=ZKhjVElzfnQ

>Koomatay
>Martial_Arts_noise_07.mp3

>It's a fake clip show episode

>"he's right behind me, isn't he?"

Fuck me, I love Grandad episodes.

No, I'm in front of you.

It was cool when Arrow did it when Oliver "joined" the League of Assassins.

Shame it was the best part of that half of the season.

~don't lose your way~

>Characters goes into a dark area
>Is only seen as a pair of floating eyes
>more eyes show up and start doing confusing/impossible things.

youtube.com/watch?v=Ll6e8vSSReg

I could actually see that happening in a Gumball episode. They get meta as fuck sometimes.

Yeah that's why I thought it'd fit their series.
They also did the one where they start suffering for all the consequences from previous episodes.
The one where the messed up tv signal messes with them.

This scene in futurama was the funniest shit. It Made me laugh so much

>Character is clearly 3 children atop one another under a trench coat pretending to be an adult.
>One character points out the obvious disguise from The Little Rascals.
>Nobody cares or or nobody believes him.

I don't think anything could top the way Rick & Morty did it.
youtube.com/watch?v=rzgIpJjyVrA

thats goofy
anyone else doing that is not funny

>it's not the focal point of the conversation or a joke beat, it just happens in the background
