Which European countries have the worst name?

Which European countries have the worst name?

Andorra-Sounds like an African country name.

Montenegro- Mountain Niggers.

Greece
Hungary

Switzerland
Netherlands
Turkey

I actually like the name Andorra. Doesn't sound African to me. Azerbaijan sounds cool too

Georgia
>an entire country that gets confused with a US state
Bosnia and Herzegovina
>no one that isn't from the balkans can remember nor pronounce Hercegovina
Belarus
>apparent that it's a russian satelite state
Czech Republic
>should have been Checkia, why does it even have "CZ" in it, it's not how you spell it even in Czech.
Slovakia and Slovenia
>Slovenia should have been called Carniola (or even Krain) because it sounds too similar to Slovakia. Both mean land of Slavs, talk about being uncreative...

>it bad name it hard for english speaker

I wouldn't call it the worst, but Romania's name is very unfortunate.

Herceg-Bosna would probably be more pronouncable, but in Cro/Serb/Bosnian it usually reffers to just Herzegovina. Also, the English name for Herzegovina doesn't make sense, since the "C" is supposed to be pronounced as "TS", so it should be Hertsegovina. Pretty sure that it's the Germans that pronounce Z as TS, which makes sense if you look at the regions history. Herzegia would also make sense, since Hercegovina means "land of the Herzeg (duke)"

>>apparent that it's a russian satelite state
It's literally just a part of Russia that broke away somehow
What the fuck did you expect?

>Belarus
>apparent that it's a russian satelite state
Their nationalists want to call their country Lithuania.

Why do some people have a problem with the name Herzegovina? It's not that hard to pronounce, also it reminds me of the German word Herz which means heart

because it has 4 syllables

>Checkia
That's truly awful. Should've been Bohemia.

How is that a problem?

Liechtenstein is hard to spell and pronounce. I always have to use google to get the correct spelling.

it comes from Herzog actually

how the fuck is united kingdom not the worst, thats not even a name

It's just a shorthand for United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland

>no one that isn't from the balkans can remember nor pronounce Hercegovina

sounds stupid, like czech re pub lic
too long for a country name, 3 syllables is the limit

because the 4 others are city, republic, something no one can pronounce or spell and 'and'

>Bohemia
You have nothing to do with it tho.

Get a language that can handle more than 4 syllables then. In Czech, we have a two syllable name for ourselves.

Except for the land, people and language.

czechia? yeah that sounds stupid too, hence why no one went with it

>in Czech
>Czechia
Isn't Denmark supposed to have really good schools? It's Česko for the record.

dania sounds stupid too
but my point is that 'cz' makes no sense to most of the world

Use Č then

>Azerbaijan
>Grub says Azerbaijan is Yurope

He's right.

He's not

>"Herzegovina is difficult to pronounce"

>Grub no like say Hurts go vinia

>Bosnia and Herzegovina
It's actually super easy to pronounce in German. It's just that english is a weird language with weird phonetics

I'm totally confused by them desu. I talked to a gf who was really angry about the fact that they are seperated. She argued that actually Lithuania and parts of Poland belongs to them, rather than the other way around, in all disregard to the Lithuanian and Polish people living there, which are actually a majority. I didn't know Belarusians are this brainwashed. Also, they somehow hate Russia, because of the past, but I can't see any difference in their culture.

I don't where the stress goes though (in serbo-croat ofc)
>HerzeGOvina or HerzegoVIna

Either way, easy af.

We actually say Tschechien in German, it's like Czechia in english

>Netherlands
>19
If it was called Holland maybe. Netherlands is the shittiest name.

Czechia sounds gay in every language.

Should have stick to Kingdom of Bohemia and Moravia. Or just Bohemia, and let Moravians get butthurt. Or Bohemomoravian Republic to cuck the anglo speakers.

Fuck off with "Holland", you imbred piece of shit.
It's Nederland, the low country.

low countries lmao

Ameican bear tier post
Bongs confirmed for island amerimutts, again

I know. But it's a shitty name.
Holland is way better.

>Romania
Instant association with gypsies.
>Czech Republic
Doesn't even have a proper one-word name. Czechia never really took.
>UK
Even worse than Czech Republic, which at least tells you about the people that live there (the Czechs). Just uninspired and awful.
>Turkey
lolthanksgiving
>Bosnia and Herzegovina
Pretty much a non-country with a non-country name which just consists of two historical regions. It makes sense since Bosnia and Herzegovina has no identity as a country of it own.

Others are fine I guess.

it's called holland in danish
besides, i still think the netherlands is beautiful

Yugoslavia was such a cool name. Serbia should have kept it.

Bosnia and Herzegovina sounds really cool in Norwegian because it does not include the "and" part so you just say Bosnia-Herzegovina. How do natives say it? Sounds weird to me that you would say "and", makes it sound like you are describing two countries.

>Sounds weird to me that you would say "and", makes it sound like you are describing two countries.

For all intents and purposes that's what they are.

Officially it is Nederlandene

>Czechia

That's how we refer to them though. Do countries other than the Anglosphere actually refer to them using the the Republic part?

Most languages have a proper one-word word for the Czech Repuplic. It's an anglo-issue.

Worst: Ukraine and Lithuania.
Best: Russia and Poland.

Some idiot named the gypsies "roma people" in the 90s since apparently their own name had become a derogatory term and it stuck as the pc term for them.
