President election in Russia, 2018. Who would win?

Anyone here who believes Putin will not win upcoming election?

I'd like to hear opinions on upcoming president election in Russia.

Being Russian it seems to me there is no "election" whatsoever, what we have here is TSAR and he will be here forever.

how would i know if i dont know who are other candidates

When Putin leaves, it will be of his own accord. I'm sure he knows that there's no autocrat to replace him but I hope he also realises that democracy's not so bad in the long run.

Sobchak will win

In a totalitarian hellhole like russia putin will win even nobody voted for him.

>When Putin leaves

Well he killed his opponent.

Navalny?

which one

""""""""""Election""""""""""

Boris Nemtsov

Oh, I just don't think that you can call him opponent. Nemtsov was probably trying to get more charismatic people on his side, which he obviously did pretty good.

>other candidates
That's funny

I find the pic to be 100% spot on.

>In a totalitarian hellhole like russia putin will win even nobody voted for him.

100% true.

Puting will get 50-60%
Grudinin probably only 10-20%, because bad image of Communist party after Zyuganov's leadership

No,nonono, thank you for offering but no way we'll accept that woman. EVER

Russia will literally collapse when Putin abdica- I mean resig- nono I mean won't have enough votes in the next objective and fair elections.

I am not a Sup Forums fag but can someone explain why locals hate Putin?

You country has improved leaps and bounds under his leadership. I understand the country is still not perfect, but its improving. How can you deny this in comparison to what he inherited from Yeltsin.

From my prospective, he is a savior to your country. Russia is now once again relevant in global affairs after hitting ruins in the 90s.

Can someone please explain the dislike towards him?

what about this qt socialist

he is very corrupt, like all other russian politicians

Because the Russian economic strength is proportional to the global oil and gas prices.

Most Russians that aren't St Petersburg hipsters love him

Strawberryman is going to make Russia great again.

...

russia will hack the election

>partially blue strawberry fields
Such is life in the Russia.

>Grudinin probably only 10-20%, because bad image of Communist party after Zyuganov's leadership
I believe Putin will automagically get all of the votes of those who didn't vote.

I know few mates who were paid to vote more than once in different places. They all live in small villages, they got money and vodka. I kid you not.

Also in early 2000's when I was at uni I was paid with money and beer for attending "May Day" aka "International labour day" aka "1st of May" march with LDPR flags.

I have no illusions on upcoming election.

Yeah those who are old dumb and love to watch TV loves him that's for sure.

Corrupt oligarch piece of shit who keeps privatising shit?

The biggest problem is the KPRF are controlled opposition essentially Gennady Zyuganov is a massive fucking cocksucker who has always self sabotaged the KPRF when it had any chance of seizing any political power.
Luckly this election due to a insurgent "left" of the party, they've been able to make Pavel Grudinin their main candidate. He's famous for running the last Kolkhoz (actually very successfully as well) and people that basically live in his "town" have a waaaaay higher standard of living than anybody else in Russia.
That said he has no chance of winning because it's going to take a long time to repair the damage that absolute cockhead fuckwit Zyuganov has done.

>Pavel Grudinin

He had bank accounts outside of Russia, something like $300,000 in Austria lmao

>I am not a Sup Forums fag but can someone explain why locals hate Putin?

Elections of all kind are virtually non-existing: all of the key roles and positions are taken by Putin's people, he appoints "his" people instead and have control of like every city.

He updated the constitution to extend his president term. He updated the constitution to allow shit load of president terms.

He doesn't deal with corruption, it's still on the rise.

Russian economy and rouble depends on oil and gas. No major improvement over the last 10 years.

It's mostly young kids who only lived under Putin. It's kind of his own fault, he let them have their nice lives and now they hate him for it. The only winning move is not to play.

The one thing Putin and nearly every other autoritherian made and make is not planing for the time after them.
Just imagine Putin has a stroke right now, who would take his seat of power in gouvernment? Or would it be FSB vs Oligarchs vs Church vs Militarys vs nationalist hardliner vs the shittone of muslim republics in the caucasus

more like because he rules Russia already for 18 fucking years

Why Germans are so well-knowledgeable about Russia? Are you from BND?

It's like you're implying there's actually votes that are counted in a Russian election.

I appreciate the replies but I still don't really get it. I understand that he his pushing term limits as traditionally it was only allowed for two terms, but why is it a bad thing when the country has had progressive growth under his leadership. No leader has had such success since Khrushchev.

I am not saying he is a saint by any means, but progression is progression. Why reject this given the history of your country. Things are improving.

Isn't it pretty much rigged so that there's no way he can lose because half of the provinces in the country will just report that he won there anyway, whether he did or not, even if a political movement actually gains traction in SP?

>Are you from BND?
I studied International Relations and I specialized on eastern european politics.
As far as my opinion goes, Saddam was th right man for Iraq, he introduced a lot of western values, womens rights, established a decent medical health system and he kept the faggot tribes from killing each other.
Did he commit atrocitys? Most likely. But a shithole like Iraq needed a man like him.
Same with Russia, in my opinion, Putin knows how to act tough in public to please the hardliners but when he negotiate with Mama Merkel they nearly always get along.
He has the possibility to lead Russia to the west again and there is no other way tbqh.

Hipsters and hohols hate him. Others just not satisfied with population's low incomes and indistinct state policy, but think, there is no real alternative to Putin.

>there is no real alternative to Putin.

Russia is FUBAR(Fucked Up Beyond All Repair).

>Brazil
Why so mad about Russia though. You are not Western/NATO state nor had any conflicts with them

I'm not hipster either hohol and I don't like him as well.

Because Brazil is USA's biggest ally and supporter.

Real commies would repair everything. But they no more since 1950s.

>Isn't it pretty much rigged
It's
> so that there's no way he can lose because half of the provinces in the country will just report that he won there anyway, whether he did or not
Yep there is no way he can lose.

>I appreciate the replies but I still don't really get it. I understand that he his pushing term limits as traditionally it was only allowed for two terms,
Two terms of 4 year each, now we have 6 year per term.

> but why is it a bad thing when the country has had progressive growth under his leadership. No leader has had such success since Khrushchev.

One must be complete retard to refute that. But the thing is that economic growth is tightly coupled with growth of oligarchs and their sphere of influence. These days people own nothing and everything is controlled be oligarch or Putin's people, even money from budget.

Putin has also raised salaries and pensions for military people and policemen, they now earn shit load of money. They earn over $65k net after 5 years or so.

>why is it a bad thing when the country has had progressive growth under his leadership. No leader has had such success since Khrushchev.
You know there's growth because you saw the statistics. We know it exists, the people you're asking about don't know that. It isn't a rational discussion, it's just some feelgood shit. That's why corruption is such a popular topic, you can't measure it. I know that situation with corruption improved unbelievably under Putin, but how do you prove that? You can't, so we're stuck here. We actually know and can prove that there was no significant falsifications during elections, but does it matter? No. Only headlines matter, people are stupid, children are even stupider, welcome to the real world.

Du you like to obey, animal?

I get you. What do young people in regional cities think? Who is their candidate of choice.

I always got this vibe in regards to hipsters. I spoke to some SP people who hate him and think he is pure evil, but could not name a single opposition candidate.

Obviously the country still faces its issues, but to me it seems a bit overkill. I mean look at the USA. Putin as a leader has done FAR more beneficial reforms and changes to the country and its economy than Trump has. I can kind of understand the youth movement against trump (although the US has been in decline for awhile). The whole movement against Putin just seems a bit silly though as an outsider.

I guess it seems more like a youthful angst against authority than anything else. I think Putin will be as important a name to Russian as Lenin was. He reformed Russia at a time of great social unrest - through good and bad.

putin will win with ~75% votes. medvedev will be substituted. that insane communist will get 10% and another 10% will be given out to other minor "candidates". navalnoy will not participate, he will probably be in prison or something.

>Who would win?
Pic

also: i predict record low participation in "elections"

Obey what?

Again this pedophile

Like that?

I hear you buddy, but I think its a grass is greener type situation. I mean here we are consider a country that hosts one of the greatest standards of living in the world. That said, if you went to a Maori community they would tell you how corrupt and bigoted the white government is for not supporting and improving their communities.

I think this situation is a reality for any country.

I am not Russian, hence why I ask you guys for the local perspective, but as an outside looking in, the country was reported to be in pretty dire strains prior to Putin's leadership.

No matters how many "great" things he did. It is important how much the population receives income, given the opportunities of the state. Now the profits are transferred to foreign banks. And you can not do anything, because there is no one else to rule the country if you remove Putin. Even if the other real candidate is pushed, he will also steal money and help oligarchy, but during the replacement will people suffer rebellion/chaos.

Investments in energy exports through the trans-siberian pipeline as well as nuclear and central asian pipeline routes.

I get this desu, but as a westerner I can't help think "Whats new?". Most nations are like this.

The US leadership is a no brainier in terms of using political power for personal financial growth, but even Australia and New Zealand are not exempt from such things. Its simply a reality of the modern political systems.

Its not within human nature to be selfless, humans are corrupt and will abuse power. Obviously there is no stable option aside from Putin, but I don't get why people are negative towards him. He should be remembered and honored for his work in re-establishing the country as a global power. Sure he made his bank on the side, but this is why EVERY modern leader goes into politics.

go live there and see for yourself idiot

i don't think those are beneficial to the people or the economy (even given gazproms enormous part in gdp). those are geopolitical tentacles

they are certanly beneficial for people who work in energy sector

>I think its a grass is greener type situation
This along with teenage rebellion and some legitimate concerns and economic ignorance is what it is. The largest part in my opinion is a welfare state legacy. Everyone expects the state to take care of them, there's very little personal responsibility.
>ask you guys for the local perspective
It's like asking Sup Forums about political situtation in US, it's not going to be very useful i'm afraid.

>hat's why corruption is such a popular topic, you can't measure it.
You can. I just pay attention how budget money are being spent. I live in Vladivostok and we got "Zolotoy bridge". It's pure shit, the pavement sucks, it's got repaired twice over last two years. Other bridges and road built 20 years ago are in better condition. Guess how come we got low quality bridge? I do believe that 50-80% of money allocated on building this bridge were stolen and rumours about that are true.

I guess you are right user. Either way, always interesting to hear about another country from someone who is not American!

given gazprom has roughly half a million employees all over the world, yes, it certainly has an impact alongside with all that leeches off to the construction sector, so you have a valid point there. tho if you take into account the level of corruption that runs through those industries and the total population of ~150M... the effect is not certainly marginal, but could be a hell of a lot noticeable

>r has done FAR more beneficial reforms a
Name those reforms please.

How would you suggest to decrease the corruption in Russia?

>"Zolotoy bridge". It's pure shit,
ironic

i don't think russias corruption problem can be approached form a western perspective. it is just too ingrained and organic. i have no answer

>Investments in energy exports through the trans-siberian pipeline
That's one of the worst thing he did. Relying on income from gas and oil export is utterly stupid. Especially since it's controlled by oligarch.

Low salaries in public work
Obstacles to the import of goods, to the export of goods, to the production of goods
Obstacles to any small private business for the sake of oligarchs-monopolists
Unclear foreign politics without allies
Lack of ideology. Capitalistic reality and condemnation of communism in the condemnation of the West and nostalgia for the USSR
Feeling of stagnation of country and the unknown future of the people's life
The greed of the oligarchs who openly takes everything for themselves
Feelings of not able to change anything and political apathy

>I do believe that 50-80% of money allocated on building this bridge were
>and rumours
So how does this allow us to measure the level of corruption? That's the problem here, you can't make any conclusions based on this. The government is corrupt, just like any other government. Is it more corrupt or less corrupt than previous one? Or the next one? How do we compare it? Because surely the next guy is going to tell you that he's going to solve this problem by hanging all the thieves. But this doesn't do anything, there needs to be a policy evolution, the system has to be more resilient. And there's no discussion about that, it's just useless bitching about "rumours". You don't even know how much money went where in one particular case, it's laughable.

You can measure economic development, salaries, life expectancy, welfare, crime rates, export values, etc. You can't measure corruption. Every "drain the swamp", "hang the kulaks" populist campaign will fail.

Question to Russians here:
Why do so many Russians love Brezhnev so much when he basically caused the USSR to stagnate, fucked over much needed reforms (Alexei Kosygin got fucked over especially) and left the USSR in such a state that it basically collapsed.

They were young at the time, the sky was bluer, the grass was greener and the water was wetter.

>Russians love Brezhnev
They love the time of the reign of Brezhnev.

"Golden 70"

However, I think that the 70th is better than "perestroika"
Also, there are opinions that the deficit in "perestroika" was created artificially and the cause of the collapse was "perestroika"

>implying Fuhrer Putin will ever leave
cuck

he looks jewish as fuck

...

this guy get it

Of course it was artificial. The products were hiding in warehouses, food products were specially destroyed, transport and supply was sabotaged, thousands of evidences.

I think, he looks georgian

he bought the wc to guarentee him more time

this too but also he looks like guy who never will win in putin's elections

>You don't even know how much money went where in one particular case, it's laughable.
It's open info and you can find it easily.
I don't catch your point about measuring corruption. Google "measuring corruption" if you want to know how can it be measured and accuracy limits.

guys, how long we can exist with all this confrontation with western world? i'm pretty scary for my future.

>scary
scared
sorry for my eng

as long as the country will be able to confront

5 years?

I hope that based Navalny wins, even though I'm probably more likely to win the lottery 3 times in a row than see that

The election will end up like pic related

his candidature got rejected

well shit i didnt know that
god help them
