The Lion Guard

Disney put the next episode up on demand. Perhaps this is a new trend for them. Here is a screenshot from the episode, which marks the return of the jackals. Since they can't really show a whole lot of biting, pretty much all of the animals fight by pouncing on top of one another and pinning them to the ground. Kind of weird, but it is what it is.

Episode is mainly about aardwolves, though only three of them speak for the most part. This girl and guy here, and another one voiced by Charlie Adler. Nice to see he's still getting work.

The female aardwolf has a very bubbly personality and a voice that matches. Kind of cute.

Just like last week, the on demand stream seems to have some compression issues or something, as usually, it's not so grainy. Or maybe it's just my shit computer doing something weird with the quality.

The jackals want to eat the aardwolves. Reirei even mentions feeding her kids. But the gestapo stops them, as usual. I think this episode also marks the first time it's referenced a successful hunt and kill, however, as the jackals mention having eaten their previous neighbors.

...

The female aardwolf's name is Ogopa. Haya and Mjomba are the other two.

Wish this show got more love. Not many 22 minute animated programs around now-a-days, with pretty much everything switching to the eleven minute format.

Goddamn you, Kion, take Reirei's sweet fortune cookie. Show me you aren't a COMPLETE waste.

They actually are stated to have killed and eaten other animals instead of just swiping herbivores' food?

Krillin:...just went from a 9 to a 10.

Shut the fuck up Mufasa, you're dead.

When the aardwolves moved in to an empty den, Goigoi asked Reirei if the hyraxes moved out. Reirei told him they didn't move out, which caused him to remember how delicious they were. For a self-proclaimed preschool cartoon, that's probably as direct as they could get. They ate those hyraxes.

what
what the fuck is this
did they make a fucking Lion King sequel into a television series

He is a complete waste.

It's technically a midquel to The Lion King 2. It - alledgedly - takes place during The Lion King 2's timeskip. Kovu, Nuka and Vitani are announced to appear in an episode. Kiara is a recurring character who is in a number of episodes.

Just be prepared for a whole lot of pinning down other animals to make them submit. It's the way of things in the pride lands.

you know, I think disney is trying to use this tactic for sexually suggestive scenes. because disney is full of pervs. you know damn well the people who work on these shows want to fuck their characters

What gives you that idea?

...

oh I dunno.. look at some of their older works..
for example. you know damn well someone on darkwing duck had a fetish for gosalyn and loved when they had the opportunity to do poses like this. of course I am not complaining. I fapped to her as well :)

Kion could have easily raped that jackal here

Holy shit, you weren't kidding.

Steve Blum was in the last episode as a leopard.

As I've said before, when they attempt these weird perspective shots they almost always mess up. But I respect them for at least trying to use different perspectives.

It's weird how this show produces nice looking still frames but looks terrible in motion.

People say the walk cycles are weak. Perhaps they are. I suppose it's at its worse when characters attempt to do little dances. Jasiri looked absurd in her song.

But for the most part, I don't have a lot to complain about. It looks fine for the most part, but I have low standards to begin with.

That had to be the worst sentence I have ever written. I am ashamed.

WTF is up with a lion cub being so strong as to take on fully grown animals? It's ridiculous to have animal twice Kion's size quaking at the sight of him.

The only one that didn't look to job to Kion and his crew and was willing to fight for what he wanted (the leopard) got ganged up on and blindsided by a hippo.

The jackals have a thing about confrontation. They don't generally like to fight. A convenient excuse, perhaps. I'm not sure what other adult animals he's fought. The hyenas are all his age, it would seem.

>The hyenas are all his age, it would seem.
I'm not so sure aside from maybe Jasiri . The scaling in the show is weird. It's kind of hard to explain. Like Simba and his wife having one set of size that seems off and doesn't match the world. When not compared to Simba, Kion and Fuli come off like early to mid teens instead of cubs when compared to the other animals. Fuli's body looks furthest along of group. Bunga himself make his uncles a lot smaller than what they should be. The hyenas are bigger but just barely, making you wondering if they're older or just smaller cause their species is smaller. And if they are cubs why are so many of their parents letting them run around alone and control territory by themselves?

>pretty much all of the animals fight by pouncing on top of one another and pinning them to the ground.
This show will produce a lot of gay furries.

They likely aren't cubs. Reirei's jackal children were cubs and they acted, and looked, a lot younger than them. But they're still not old enough to really hold their own in a fight with an adult predator. Except the hippo, because he's a goddamn killing machine.

Anyway, I'm posting more Fuli because she's my favorite character.

Half of the time, it's male characters pinning down female ones.

...

...

HEY! I can still meddle- err, GUIDE (yes, that's it) my grandson.

I can't recall, has the show ever shown Fuli fight? Many opponents just run from Kion and his magic roar. I know she almost got into it with Jasiri but would she have a chance being a cheetah?

These look like you took two characters from two different shows and shopped them together. They don't look like they belong in the same show.

She doesn't really look like a cheetah to begin with.

I'm... not sure. I don't think it's a matter of them trying to keep the female character from getting smacked around, as she gets run over by aardwolves in today's episode. I know she tries to fight the vultures in the episode where she's exhausted, but she can barely move in it.

Screenshot looks weird. I'd have made a webm if I could, but I can't get the episode off of their site.

To continue the trend, another from today's episode.

I hope they show her fight more. Her speed really gives her an edge in making the first move.

Again, grown animal to the comic relief?

The aardwolves were scared shitless because Kion used his roar on them. They were running for their lives. They weren't interested in fighting either, and since ReiRei thought her and her mate were enough to kill a dozen aardwolves, I don't think they were good at fighting. They eat termites. One can eat 250,000 a day, which makes me wonder how many fucking termites there are.

Here's French Fuli singing the song she sang. It's probably not "good", but it's all Greek to me. I can't evaluate the quality of a French dub.

English version for comparison.

How many predators does that make that have run from Kion? What's the herbivore villain count anyway?

Is it a good cartoon? Isn't too childish? It have good pron?

I think it's a good cartoon that had a horrible movie and a handful of bad episodes. The bad episodes usually pertain to Bunga.

It's promoted as a preshcool cartoon. It aires on Disney Junior. But I can honestly say that nothing about it, other than the songs, strikes me as preschool. And some of the songs are actually catchy. It's not Dora the Explorer tier. It doesn't try to teach you anything and it doesn't talk down to anybody.

The porn was slow to get started. One guy has taken it upon himself to draw dozens of drawings, though, so I guess there's that. Good? That's too subjective and I have no opinions to provide.

The fighting scenes in the show are never going to be spectacular, but it's something that it has fighting scenes at all.

>a Lion Guard thread made it to 50 posts
wew lad

With only 27 unique posters, that's not much of an accomplishment. The early threads got hundreds of posts, but everybody was masturbating to Jasiri's psuedopenis.

This is like Deviantart's dream show, right?

Surprisingly, they don't post much art of the show. It's there, sure. Crappy watermarks and all. But it's not the oncoming storm that Sup Forums predicted it would be.

First pointless bump. Not bad, since some threads get this after a few hours. Not sure if anyone else will watch the episode, however.

Damn, Steve. Even he can make a shitty show watchable for a bit.

this is some kind of new fetish for me

>The queen will only lay 10–20 eggs in the very early stages of the colony, but will lay as many as 1,000 a day when the colony is several years old.[49] At maturity, a primary queen has a great capacity to lay eggs. In some species, the mature queen has a greatly distended abdomen and may produce 40,000 eggs a day.[67] The two mature ovaries may have some 2,000 ovarioles each.[68] The abdomen increases the queen's body length to several times more than before mating and reduces her ability to move freely; attendant workers provide assistance.

>a termite queen can live up to 50 years

And colonies have multiple females and queens.

Doesn't it already tie into domination?

>I can honestly say that nothing about it, other than the songs, strikes me as preschool.

The fact that they can't show any legitimate form of violence doesn't strike you as preschool? Even the Horses that Must Not Be Named were allowed to kick and bite each other.

...

I refer to things like Dora talking to the audience or Sherif Callie saying stealing is wrong. The show is just a show.

She'll be back at some point. Was listed as recurring on the press release.

I would totally stick my dick in her

I like wildlife, should I watch this? Or is it just pure furryshit bait?

From what I've seen so far I like the different creatures they got in the show.

There will inevitably be inaccuracies. Disney touted their wildlife consultant who helped them makes episodes that were as true-to-nature as can be in The Lion King universe, but then they go and forget to give Fuli tear marks. The show does use an interesting amount of different animals, but if you care very much about getting everything right, I'd recommend you pass.

I guess it's time for another bump.

inews.co.uk/essentials/culture/television/lion-guard-made-roar/

This might be the last bump. No promises, but I'd really prefer to find something to discuss and people to discuss it with. I like having these threads, but they're never going to be big here.

Watch it.

What age do you think the characters are if they went by human?

Not sure. I tend to think Fuli would be the oldest, as she lives and hunts alone. Ono could be older, but I have a hard time placing years on birds.

>It was at this stage in The Lion Guard’s production that things took a slightly different turn. Christian Larocque, animation director at Mercury Filmworks, wanted to find a more fluid way of animating characters in the short amount of time he had available to him. His idea was to “rig” the character in 3D first, which meant creating a digital puppet of each animal character, which the animators could then spin around and see from every angle.

>It was this technique, thought to be the first of its kind, that allowed the team to put the cartoon characters in every conceivable position, whether they were jumping on to rocks or leaping into the air. This allowed them to see how the characters would move in any given situation. “The rig has all the points of articulation; all the joints of the character, the mouth movements, the eye movements,” says Riley. Once the animators had used the 3D rig to work out how each character would look in each position, they could translate that into a 2D model to give the animation that authentic, “handdrawn” look.

Last bump from me. For real this time. I have no idea when the next new episode will air. Some people seem to think the 22nd, but Disney didn't have that episode on their press release. I don't think it'll air. In that case, this might be the last thread for a while.

My guess:
Kion - 14
Fuli - 14
Bunga - 12
Hippo - 13
Ono - 15
Jasiri - 15
Kiara - 15
Janja and crew - 16
