Reagan

I don't get why he's considered some sort of Republican god.

>Iran-Contra affair
>Failed War on Drugs initiative
>HUD rigging scandal
>S&L crisis

Can someone enlighten me? Members of his cabinet and advisers were indicted on many federal charges. If anything, wasn't he more corrupt then Hillary Clinton?

You forgot gun control.

Reagan was an actor first, politician second.

He assisted the implosion of the soviet union and fixed the economy.

Wages were at an all time high under the Reagan administration.

Since then, our wages have remained stagnant.

You can criticize any president's policies until the cows come home, but the fact of the matter is that he was the inspiration for an entire generation of family-oriented conservatives. I don't think our elections would be as close as they are without him. The entire republican party is just running on memories of Reagan, which is why they need to constantly bring him up.

Because he was such a good liar(actor) that he continued to make american people feel decent about itself. He made us think we could do ANYTHING if we tried hard enough. He was charismatic and likable, neither arrogant or truly prideful. He had wit and humility and wasn't tied to the american elite, though his policies did help them quite significantly. While, of course, he had his down sides as all politicians do, he seemed to try to be better.

Basically, he was likable and didn't seem like scum, unlike all the rest of our politicians.

Reagan was the king of the Neocons

You forgot the biggest one.

>give all illegals amnesty
>leading to more shitskin voters
>leading to more shitskin legals through family reunification
>leading to more shitskin illegals because they know they'll get amnesty eventually

Its all about free trade and 'Reganomics'. Also Nixon started drug war right senpai?

The same reason Thatcher is loved.

Both came in after poor socialist leaders and both gave their countries confidence again.

I despise him simply because he allowed the Hughes Amendment to FOPA in 1986 to happen.

It's more appropriate to call him the God of Cuckservatives.

He cut taxes on the rich and they promoted him

Did he really fix the economy? Arguments are always divided on the matter, some say he did, some say he went into trillions of debt.

Go watch one of his speeches and when even you, a lowly maple leaf, get a freedom boner you'll understand.

>Hughes Amendment
>Amendment didn't pass vote
>Got included in the bill anyway

>Policies matter less than well written speeches

And this, my friends, is why the US is in such a shitty situation today.

Seriously. Fucking Jew fudd cunts.

Schillary has more scandals in a week than Reagan had in 8 years.

We also have the internet, today.

Dissemination of information is how we expose shit. We crowdsource investigations.

I fucking hate Reagan. He did so much stupid shit, the only good thing was the fall of the Soviet Union and its debatable if he had anything at all to do with that, because it was crumbling anyways.

Either way, his biggest transgression was signing FOPA. Of fucking course a Hollywood cuck would sign something like that into law. Of fucking course.

Now let's set the record straight. There's no argument over the choice between peace and war, but there's only one guaranteed way you can have peace -- and you can have it in the next second -- surrender.

Admittedly, there's a risk in any course we follow other than this, but every lesson of history tells us that the greater risk lies in appeasement, and this is the specter our well-meaning liberal friends refuse to face -- that their policy of accommodation is appeasement, and it gives no choice between peace and war, only between fight or surrender. If we continue to accommodate, continue to back and retreat, eventually we have to face the final demand -- the ultimatum. And what then -- when Nikita Khrushchev has told his people he knows what our answer will be? He has told them that we're retreating under the pressure of the Cold War, and someday when the time comes to deliver the final ultimatum, our surrender will be voluntary, because by that time we will have been weakened from within spiritually, morally, and economically. He believes this because from our side he's heard voices pleading for "peace at any price" or "better Red than dead," or as one commentator put it, he'd rather "live on his knees than die on his feet." And therein lies the road to war, because those voices don't speak for the rest of us.

You and I know and do not believe that life is so dear and peace so sweet as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery. If nothing in life is worth dying for, when did this begin -- just in the face of this enemy? Or should Moses have told the children of Israel to live in slavery under the pharaohs? Should Christ have refused the cross? Should the patriots at Concord Bridge have thrown down their guns and refused to fire the shot heard 'round the world? The martyrs of history were not fools, and our honored dead who gave their lives to stop the advance of the Nazis didn't die in vain.

Where, then, is the road to peace? Well it's a simple answer after all.

You and I have the courage to say to our enemies, "There is a price we will not pay." "There is a point beyond which they must not advance." And this -- this is the meaning in the phrase of Barry Goldwater's "peace through strength." Winston Churchill said, "The destiny of man is not measured by material computations. When great forces are on the move in the world, we learn we're spirits -- not animals." And he said, "There's something going on in time and space, and beyond time and space, which, whether we like it or not, spells duty."

You and I have a rendezvous with destiny.

We'll preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we'll sentence them to take the last step into a thousand years of darkness.

In general, I think most of FOPA rectified a lot of the mistakes of the NFA of 1967, but the Hughes Amendment to it specifically is fucking horseshit.

Shitskins didn't exist until 9/11.

REAGAN WAS THE BIGGEST SPENDER AND TRIPLED THE NATIONAL DEBT. THAT'S WHY THESE RIGHT WING RETARDS LOVE HIM SO MUCH.

The debt grew solely because he kept beefing up the military to deter the soviet union. He helped the economy grow, the problem being now most economic growth isn't found in jobs and instead in financial investing, so people say his ideas were flawed because they don't work in the modern economy.

WHY DO THE RIGHT WING RETARDS LOVE REAGAN SO MUCH?

REAGAN'S OWN BIOLGICAL SON PROVIDES THE ANSWER:

He should have vetoed it and told them to go back without the Hughes Ammendment, because it was illegal anyways.

Has anybody ever challenged the Hughes Amendment off the fact it wasn't actually passed? There has to be some way to attack that through the judicial system.

Raygun set the tone for modern American conservatism. The reason we associate the GOP with certain positions and the Dems with certain other positions is because of him.

Because it makes liberals furious. His greatest achievement is even 30 years later he can still make a liberal cry.

He made a very eloquent historic speech called A Time for Choosing.
He was a charismatic leader during the Golden Age of the US
Basically he is revered because those things eclipse his poor decisions.

Ronald was nicer than Maggie though

There's a guy challenging it now, but the outlook isn't great.

The ATF approved a trust and then revoked approval.

Same reason Trump cliched Republican nomination- meme magic.

To be fair he was tricked. He made a deal with democrats that he gives amnesty to illegals already in in exchange the border would be secured. He held his part, but democrats screwed him and didn't held their end.
As good lesson to never trust a democrat.

> If you're good at some things, you must be shit at others

This was only done to outspend the Soviets and win the cold war. I mean, it worked but it's the geopolitical equivalent of winning a championship game because you spent 10x as much as the other teams on all the best players, kinda cheap.

He means illegals. Mostly Mexicans.

That dude is a fucking coward. He talks shit about his own fucking father while he is in the grave. I would not listen to this sniveling fuck.

He's not talking shit about his father, he is praising him as a democrat. :^)

>Writes a book saying his father had alzheimers during his presidency
>Implying this is why in his opinion he was a "shitty" president
>Makes millions of this book disrespecting his father's memory
>Gets to go on talk shows and receive praise from other libcucks for stomping all over his father's grave

There is a reason why his mother and brother disown his faggot ass.

You're not wrong, I just don't understand why he'd do his part - the amnesty - without anything more than word that immigration controls would be tightened.

That's either incompetence or apathy. Either way, after the Hart-Cellar Act, Reagan's folly was probably the second worst disaster in American demographics.

>never say anything bad about dead people it's mean

>be president
>let yourself get tricked into betraying your country
sounds competent

>Saying bad things about your dead dad for attention is not fucked up

Confirmed for having no father. Probably a fucking nigger,

Doesn't mean I have to love his policies but go read stories about him. Read about he and John Lennon on Monday night football or about the old lady from California who thought a donation letter was a personal invite. Ronald Reagan loved America, and we loved him for it.

>projecting this hard

>Golden Age of the US
The 50s?

Why do democrats love illegals so much?

He put the economy into an enormous fucking recession because of his trickle down economics bullshit. He only "fixed" what he completely destroyed. Jimmy Carter had an energy crisis and his economy was better.

They vote for them, not to mention they provide cheap labor for rich people that give them money.
There are lots of reasons, but this is the basic one.

And he created Al-Qaeda.

It's a testament to how awful Republican presidencies in modern times are if they have to idolize Reagan of all people.

One day you will understand.

>reminder that this figure is misleading

reagan increased debt from 2 to 5 trillion

obongo increased debt from 10 to 19 trillion

Both overcame similar economic crash, and one ended the soviet union, whereas the other... gave a few people expensive and poor health insurance

Illegals = indentured servitude to white people, keeps white people wealthier than others since they can paid subprime wages.

Abortion = maintains white majority cause most abortions are performed on minorities. If all the abortions that have already happened never happened then whites would already be a minority.

Welfare = incentivizes poor people to not work where they would make far more money. This is why welfare payments are so minimal. Recipients will never get rich by collecting welfare cause they can't save much since they only get enough for basic needs. This also keeps them voting for Democrats and ensure their dependency. White people receive the most welfare taking a lot of it away from niggers so they stay more impoverished than poor whites.

those speeches though..

Basically because he told a generation of crybaby assholes that is was their right to be crybaby assholes. All because they were the American, and the children of the greatest generation. He told them it was their birthright to be greedy, whiny, assholes, and they ate that shit up.

Spawned a whole new generation of whiny, greedy assholes. Who then spawed the lot of you. A bunch of whiny, greedy, little assholes. Who spend all of their time shitposting on a Taiwanese Tin Type Photography forum.
