in my opinion, it should be
yes it is tbqh pham
>the sick does not have a choice
why not?
Healthcare is a pretty broad term. Id like to think its a countries job to take care of its citizens somewhat, but if they are ruining their own health then the government shouldnt be responsible
IE
>cancer from smoking
>heart disease from being obese
>broken leg from skate boarding
etc etc
Implying they are this bad to it
Prove it
You misogynist
well, i suppose the choice is between getting care and dying. but i think he means that sick people have no choice but to pay for medical costs unless they want to die
No, you don't have a right to force a doctor to fix you up. As hard as it is to grasp everything must be paid for
Picture related. There is a choice between illness and health. Fat people and tobacco users are an increasingly unbearable burden on our healthcare system.
>there is no choice between illness and health
In many cases there actually is
a lot of illness is caused by bad habits, for example the most common cancers are due to smoking and tanning; and most deadly diseases like cardiovascular disease come from eating like shit
You really shouldn't be enabling these people
on the other hand if you get some out of the blue illness you have no control that's different
Hedges is simply too much of a radical and so are the other Bernouts.
The leftist solution to every corrupt system is a far more corrupt system.
If they really cared about the cost of healthcare they would say the first step should be bringing back anti trust laws for insurance companies. Only after that can you talk about comping people for illnesses.
you have no choice but to pay for food unless you want to starve
you have no choice but to pay for housing unless you want to freeze
so what?
i just said what i thought he meant. not trying to get into some debate
exactly this
you can in fact choose to not be healthy, it's very common in the US
should these people really be rewarded for sloth?
The exact same goes for people in ghettos who have kids only for the free EBT cards
youtube.com
also does anyone have that pic of the fat lady who was told to get a dog to walk so she could get thin, and then, instead of walking the dog she just fed the dog so it got fat as well?
>misogynist
Typical word this, associated with '''hate for women'''. But can be used in other ways too I think.
Nope
No it isn't and no it shouldn't be.
All you're doing is pointing out mitigation factors. Yes you can do thing to take of yourself, but ultimately, you have no control over whether you become sick or not. Healthy people develop cancer all the time.
"Human rights" are a social construct. If you want it to be a right, make it one.
Aren't there tons of privately-funded charities for children's health costs? There are in the US, at least. Shriners' Hospitals is an example.
>Capitalists
So money costing doctors ... at least the clear name and impression is there
Dem medics should just work harder and don't underpay the real hard working ground personnel.
>Don't like to hear
So now basically start threatening our lives?
Where do I have this bullit?
Good. Keep us away from the system when you're begging for tax dollars.
food and housing are recognized as human rights you idiot, the question was exactly whether we should include healthcare on the basis of the analogy you made.
Look, you can even donate to them without having a bureaucrat as a middle-man.
As someone with very conservative views I do agree to an extent. Unfortunately, capitalism is what has advanced our healthcare system to one of the best in the world. I think that there are things that can be done to lower healthcare for us all, but in the interest of exponentially increasing our healthcare capabilities and breakthroughs in modern medicine, it does ultimately need to be powered by capitalism.
You can choose to not be healthy, but you can't always choose to be healthy.
You can, for example, get lung cancer despite never smoking.
Then there's the matter of pollution and other "side products" causing health problems. Do the polluters have to pay the bills if someone gets lung cancer because an increase in air pollution leads to an increase in lung cancer?
I guess that explains all the homeless
yet people are still homeless and people still starve
welcome to the real world
>nirvana fallacy
TWO
FUCKING
LEAVES
I think the problem with a capitalist healthcare system is that it tends to develop the bad habits you see in American healthcare, such as routine circumcision, and drugging all the kids with Ritalin and other bullshit. Our NHS really isn't perfect, but I would take it over the alternative.
Oh, and I also forgot drugging all the adults with anti-depressants at any point that they feel sad.
>nirvana fallacy
youre the one thinking human rights have a place in reality bud
You cannot be entitled to other people's labor and physical goods like medicine just because you exist.
Medical care consists of consumable goods and services. Wtf is is this guy talking about?
It does not magically manifest out of nothing.
the only thing I think is that canadians shouldn't have a place on this board
dont you have german qts youre late to molesting ahmed?
Don't want to bother anyone with facts but here goes:
un.org
>is it a human right to force other people to take care of the worst, most self destructive, entitled people on earth?
No. I am not paying taxes for this.
>the sick does not have a choice
Plenty of (((((sick)))))) people choose to have their (((((illnesses))))). Anything fat related, faggot buttsecks related, smoking/tobacco related, tranny related is all their own choice.
>the U.N.
don't you have English classes you're late for, leaf?
>it's a human right for niggers to get ebola cured for free at the hands of white gentiles
>Don't want to bother anyone with facts
Good thing you didn't post any then, that would have been real troublesome
Next step: Find out if the USA have signed this.
whats the reference?
>muh reading skills
Hint: Article 25.
I'd like to know myself
Literally doesn't prove anything
>b-but this group of people said so!
And I say differently
>rights
>existing
No. Anything you cannot afford to pay for yourself is not a right. People have the right to own firearms to protect themselves but they don't hand out guns for free.
No, no one should pay for other people's health because that can be largely be attributed to this person's actions.
There is a choice between sickness and health so long as you are conscious. Progressives are trying to end that and make doctors dictators.
I think healthcare should be free to the non smoking non obese up to a certain age.
That age being maybe 40
At around 40 you should have a good enough job/warning to be able to buy your own insurance.
So like if you're a 23 year old with cancer your health care is free.
Makes it so the government can get a good return investment on schooling and feeding people but not so old people can live forever on the tax payer dime.
Would never happen as people would cry about death panels.
Isnt it the government and insurance companies that make it so expensive? I feel like more government would make things worse
Also let me fucking poooooooost this God damn captcha needs to die
Socialists should never be allowed near a healthcare system because they will intentionally leave healthcare shitty to keep collecting taxes and making everyone both poor and sick, rather than either poor OR sick.
>I HAVE A RIGHT TO BE PROVIDED A THING WHICH FORCES OTHER PEOPLE TO WORK FOR ME!
No, you fucking maroons.
Human rights don't exist
Banking services should also be a human right.
There's not a single valid reason for banks to make so much profit other than Jews being Jews
>Socialists should never be allowed near a healthcare system
We oughtn't allow them around ANY system, because they will surely fuck it up. They'd do it either through incompetence OR malice, or both.
Communists and socialists are the most vile """people""" on the planet.
This is only true for life threatening damages from accidents or illnesses, which I agree should be nationalized.
The problem with nationalizing all healthcare is that, you DO have a choice between pestering a doctor because your tummy hurts or sleeping it out over the weekend. Nationalized healthcare would be great if it could be isolated to those who actually need it.
No. I pay premiums for a reason.
> Is Healthcare a human right?
Some of it. Like trauma care, standard medical examination, basic dentist service and epidemic prevention.
Also medical examination should be heavily unregulated.
exactly, now with ofaggotcare, those who cant afford private insurance will be granted low class treatment. The have vs havenots, isnt democrats great? we love our democrtats.
Take canada for example, some kid died because waiting on the wait list too long, in a private healthcare system with absolute no government regulation ,the kidney or whatever will be insanely more cheaper and affordable,
Since however insurance companies now rely on the government to pay them and the usa is the best at paying debts back, charging exponentially outrageous prices is okay because the gov will pay for it, those without insurance? Well hope you are rich.
Preventive care is almost always cheaper though.
But yea I don't think if something is non life threatening it should be paid for.
Like if you have either mental illness or something minor like diabetes it shouldn't be paid for with public money.
>International law doesn't prove anything! USA USA
Healthcare is not a right. The vast majority of products/practices are protected by patents / copyright law.
The healthcare problem is an intellectual property problem. To solve one, you must solve the other.
If I could produce energy out of thin air using some new physical phenomena that was 100% renewable and clean, but complicated to manufacture and maintain, these people would start saying that it is a human right to have one.
>is forcing someone else to take care of you a human right?
no kid. no its not. welcome to the real world. where you have to work with people rather than enslave them.
International law doesn't apply to us, so we don't give a fuck. Whatever your commie international law congregations say is totally immaterial.
Again
>Healthcare is a right just because these guys said so!
Funny that the hottest video card on the market at the time didn't even have a heatsink
Healthcare is subsidized by those who don't consume it. The idea that every human life is equally deserving of a chance to continue is a nice religious sentiment, but it has no place in the economy and government. It is immoral to the greatest degree.
This too. When the hell was the last time the UN was even relevant? Seems like the EU, but even shittier.
Here's a great idea, let's enslave doctors!
And you have nothing to support that stance besides your opinion. Nobody is entitled to anything in nature besides what they can make for themselves. Yelling at a forest will not transform its materials into usable goods.
Likewise, you should have the right to seek-out healthcare, but you do not have the right to demand that healthcare be provided unconditionally by others.
The UN is just another commie institution trying to spread their plague around the world.
>food and housing are recognized as human rights you idiot
Haha, what? Having the right to buy your own house and choose what food you eat is not the same as having them provided to you and paid for by the government (tax payers).
>taking anything he says seriously
