I have heard many people complain that the author is a nihilist and even a degenerate.
Has anyone here read this book? Would they recommend it?
Should I read "Enjoy the Decline"

So nobody on this board has read this book? It is pretty popular, no?
>reading the poor man's Yurope
I've read it. It's a fun read. It's got some solid advice, but Clarey is definitely burned out on pretty much everything. He isn't really for "the struggle." The book is arguably degen because he essentially just advocates enjoying yourself in the face of inevitable collapse.
He DOES spend a lot of the time talking up idyllic traditions, but his conclusion on all of them is- "too many people have thrown them aside, so fuck it."
But yeah, I recommend reading it.
So he has basically giving up? Is he the kind of author who says "When things you fail, commit suicide."? Also, is he alt-right? Is he what an SJW would consider "racist"?
>So he has basically giving up?
Yes, pretty much. He got a vasectomy, which he explains in the book. He advocates the "no kids manifesto" since he thinks its immoral to bring children into what's coming.
>Is he the kind of author who says "When things you fail, commit suicide."?
Funny you mention this, I believe one of the chapters is titled "The Smith & Wesson retirement plan." He advocates for suicide as an option when you get old.
>Also, is he alt-right?
Wide umbrella. I think he would be considered alt-right by some people, but he's shunned by trad-cons for the vasectomy/ childless thing, and he is very much a libertarian. He does align himself with conservatives when he needs to- he sees them as a much preferable alternative to leftists.
>Is he what an SJW would consider "racist"?
Oh, of course, but that's really not saying much, now is it? Everybody's racist to them. He claims the majority of his clients for his "Asshole Consulting" service are POCs. As for the book, it's not really racially focused.
So he is one of those "selfish atheist-nihilist" type libertarians, so to speak.
Nailed it. He's good at diagnosing the cancer, but he says, "but we're not going to start chemotherapy or radiation because you're just gonna die eventually, anyway."
I can see where he is coming from, but the achievements mankind has made probably wouldn't have happened if everyone didn't put in any effort because "we all die one day, so it doesn't matter"
