So..........The New Ghostbusters Reboot is out in theaters and I'm pretty sure a lot of you aren't going to go and see it. That's fine, who am I to judge? But me personally, I thought it was "okay". Not good but not terrible.
But I feel like you guys who refuse to see the movie should get a good dose of the old school team so here's a storytime of an interesting Ghostbusters Comic from the IDW team.
We all know how the ending of the original film went down. But...What If The Ghostbusters didn't cross the streams and save the city? All the answers will be revealed here.
In case you're wondering. Yes, they're referencing exactly what you think they're referencing.

Well that was fun. And you're right, I will never ever see the new movie. I learned my lesson about mediocre sequels after Star Wars 7

Thank you OP

Can someone storytime the five Deviations issues?
Jacob Morales
I would but sadly, this was the only one I could find.
So with that said, I second this.

I want a Stay Puft plush now

Why is Egon always blond in Comics/Cartoons?
Kayden Ramirez
You want download links?
Colton Ortiz
Because for this comic I could never tell Ray and Peter apart, except when they say the names. Having Egon be another white man with black hair would make it even more confusing.

The only other good one was the GI Joe one, which was hilarious. The X Files one was mediocre as fuck, and the Transformers one was god-awful. Read the wiki page, it's more entertaining than the issue was. tfwiki.net/wiki/Transformers:_Deviations ..Though thinking about it, I didn't read the Turtles one. Maybe that was okay?
>Though thinking about it, I didn't read the Turtles one. Maybe that was okay? It was dark and pessimistic. I loved it because they embrace the concept of "what if?" to the core.

"Hey, why am I a redhead?"
"Because you're the comic relief!"

>tfw Max Landis Ghostbusters III comic
I hope it becomes a thing one day. His film pitch made me cry, and it's only a rough outline. Guy has worked on comics before so doesn't seem impossible.

Kinda says a lot about Joe that there wasn't a single moment "iconic" enough for them to use as a deviation point, huh?

And thus concludes Cobra Commander In "Victory Is Boring". If anyone's particularly interested, I'll post the bonus progress notes etc, but otherwise won't bother.

Thanks for clarifying that, I felt it wasn't on the nose enough of a reference.

I have to say, I really like that Commander design. I'm normally a helmet guy, but the weird half-and-half look with the eyeholes is great.

Well, I suppose it helps to clarify that the two series are unrelated.

>Landis no.
Xavier Smith
apparently he hasn't done alot at all he did two oni press comics iv literally never heard of, one being a one shot (Sharknife and PENG) and backups for darkstalkers/street fighter comics
obviously wikipedia is going to be less updated than his actual site or tumblr, but the last thing listed other than this, is from 2011
The weird thing is he's not blonde in any of IDW's other Ghostbusters books, they all just look like exaggerated caricatures of the actors.
Aiden Ross
Don't be that guy. We already know you exist, you don't have to voice it every time his name comes up.
Colton Johnson
they actually refrence his comic change in several issues, theres also "two egons" in the universe, one being more like the movie version and one being the comic version. Janine dated "not egon" to make egon jealous
Adrian Sanders
you know theres more than one person who cant stand landis right?
how dare i voice my opinion on a siamese scroll site
Thomas Young
>you know theres more than one person who cant stand landis right?
I do, I was speaking to the group.
Gabriel Long
"not egon" isn't actually Egon though, he's an english teacher or something like that named Roger. It's just a gag that he looks exactly like animated Egon (specifically the XGB version with the ponytail) BECAUSE Janine is dating him, the joke is "she's so hung up on Egon who's too nerdy to acknowledge her that she's now dating vague-lookalikes"
Juan Murphy
yeah well I like ghostbusters and dont want h writing for it.
>Ugh, I'm grossed out that they had a ghost sex gag in the original. >I sure hope they don't reference blowjobs in the new movie, since it's got women and should be classier than that. >Paul Feig's first big movie, Bridesmaids, involved Melissa McCarthy using "bear sandwich" as code for raunchy sex
