Lets start with Tigra from Marvel comics. my suggestion for a nemesis? Kraven the Hunter.
Tigra is something of a feminist while Kraven is an old-timey mysoginis Tigra integrates into the environment while Kraven only seeks to dominate the environment they could have a sexy Batman/Catwoman thing go on
Nathan Phillips
My dick
Carson Morgan
You again? I feel like it's just too on the nose. We get it, she's a big cat.
Joseph Howard
I really don't think characters deserve a nemesis until they get their own book.
Miles needs a nemesis (maybe it would be more interesting to read). Maybe give him and Bombshell an Batman-Catwoman/Spidey-BlackCat flirtatious rivalry kind of thing.
Charles Reyes
I posted this like, 5 months ago.
Thomas Gray
isn't Miles's Nemesis da police?
Austin Russell
>awkward teen Miles debating over whether Bombshell likes him or not but then realizing she's technically a supervillain so he has to worry about whether it's moral to have this kind of thing with her >asks Peter for help >it's useless
yes, I'd like more of this please instead of clickbait events and "this is totally gonna be permanent" character changes
Adrian Nelson
No, you posted it like a few weeks.....jesus christ it was March?
Xavier Evans
I'm not saying "GET OUT", I'm not telling you you're here to much (Lord knows I'm in no position to talk) but times like this I think it's good to take a little break from the site, get your bearings. Just say'n.
Dominic Allen
No I didn't think you were telling me to leave, and yeah I really need to get out of here. Fucking March?
Connor Martin
...
Zachary Perez
Who is this?
Xavier Murphy
What about this cheerful chap
Jaxon Martinez
Mr X would be the obvious choice, maybe gorgon. if ya don't know, he's a blood knight martial artist from Marvel with telepathy that lets him see his opponent's next move
Gavin Rogers
Coat of Arms.
Matthew Flores
Miles' nemesis should be the tumblr girl. I don't know how but it would work but I want it to happen.
David Rivera
Would be interesting to see a proper supervillain nemesis for Deadman.
Gabriel Martin
She should obviously be his JJJ, disgruntled he's not doing enough to help other minority and female causes.
Cooper Williams
obsessed stalker with a crush who gets on trouble but miles fails to save her and as a result she hates him?
Levi Parker
Nah. Karnak's whole thing is being able to see the flaws in something. I suppose they both work in terms of pre-empting the flaws, but it'd be more fitting for him to have a nemesis with no flaws/with a flawlessly indestructible body.
Xavier Peterson
I think you have a good idea OP. Feels kind of Silver Age.
People like you are the reason comics aren't fun anymore.
Andrew Brooks
What about somebody with a healing factor or something like doomsday where they would fix the flaw after he hits it.
Lucas Morgan
>Squueeeee
Too 'quirky' for me
John Watson
Capes are art and kino and patrician and you and your little girl fanfics and shipping are dumb.
Now excuse me while I sculpt the death of Captain Marvel out of dog food.
Julian Bailey
I vote for this chick.
Dylan Gray
Alive man, ghost turned human
Jason Nelson
Something close to this.
He saves her from something and she's freaking out. Repeatedly calling him the Black Spiderman and going on and on about how great it is he's black. He stops her, and politely explains it's not about him being black and would she be any less grateful if it was white hero that saved her life. He implies that what she says is just the opposite side of the same racist coin that the people that bitch about him being black. That they both focus on his race instead of the good he's trying to do.
BOOM! she fucking explodes. And goes on this huge internet tirade against him. And starts spouting about internalized racism and how wrong she was about him. Everything he does becomes politically charged, he saves more whites than minorities, he saves more men than women...or women than men because they're to weak to look after themselves, look how uncomfortable he looks when this tranny thanks him with a hug.
Caleb Edwards
He had some good rumbles with the Gentleman Ghost in Brave and the Bold.
Caleb Jenkins
I'd kind of love Blogger Girl to turn into Miles's JJJ.
Christopher Edwards
but a silverage comic would be more likely to have a villain that was it's own wacky thing, not so obvious.
Justin Parker
>I am going to ram that she-cat!
Titles for porn?
James Anderson
I think borrowing one of Spidey's villains is a bad idea, though Tigra fighting a twisted big game hunter themed villain could be cool.
Carter Lopez
Never saw Brave and the Bold, I'll look it up.
Ayden Long
I think it's fine to use him for that but the premise works better for a one off or occasional thing. Making him her nemesis is kinda lame.
Oliver Wilson
>And playtime was just beginning
Was this claremont?
Nathaniel Sanchez
>Kamala Enemy >Not Big Pig Guy
Dominic Morgan
Venom's nemesis: Whatever agencies were mind-raping it with drugs (so nemesi? I don't think it's been just one at this point) Miles' nemesis: Uncle Rufus. I don't know how the copyright issues would work, but make it happen. Miles' greatest enemy is a racist black man who will use Miles' use of force as proof of Miles' savage ways Carnage-man's nemsis: Public perception. Carnage-man tried not to be hardcore, but the universe won't let him. Kaine's nemesis: Whoever's bullying Aracely Ben's nemesis: being dead Peter's nemesis: Kingpin (I know Green Goblin has more in-comic history with Parker, but the 90's show has convinced me that Kingpin is the best Archnemesis. I loved Spectacular but even it couldn't make that notion budge)
William Thomas
If Janet van Dyne were to ever get a solo I've always thought that with some reworking and maybe a new codename the villainous Spider-Woman, Charlotte Witter, would make a decent enemy for her.
They're both fashion designers and they've got the whole Spiders vs Wasps thing going for them. And its not like the Spider-Man books have used her at all in the last 15 years
Jordan Ross
Sometimes I feel like no one on Sup Forums actually reads comics. Chris Claremont already thought of this. Marvel Team Up 67.
Jaxon Ramirez
I agree about limiting it, but I think the narrative practically writes it's self. I never really understood a crazy big game hunter being a Spidey specific villain.
Logan Rogers
I mostly read his mutant stuff.
Isaac Garcia
What is it with Spidey and redheads Also, why's her hair black there?
Justin Bell
Me too. But I got a cheap Essential Marvel Team-up trade a few years ago that had #67 in it. I was surprised no one had referenced it when I looked through the thread.
If you want an easy self contained adventure story, Marvel team up is dope.
Brandon Robinson
Kingpin belongs to my husbando Matt
Nathaniel Young
Yeah, I think OP is talking more about long term narrative rather than a one-off, though.
Logan Reyes
No Idea. The Essential trades are all black and white so I had never seen the actual cover before.
I don't think it changes in story.
Jose Evans
Let's be fair here, there's a big difference between "no one here reads comics" and "no one here has read this one issue of a team-up book from 1978". That issue is probably 15-20 years older than the average Sup Forumsmrade.
Sebastian Howard
She should be his Black Cat/MJ
Mason James
>Tigra is something of a feminist while Kraven is an old-timey mysoginis Tigra integrates into the environment while Kraven only seeks to dominate the environment they could have a sexy Batman/Catwoman thing go on
I get long term but this is a dead on description of what plays out in Marvel Team up #67.
They get into this weird domination thing with Kraven trying to control Tigra and her fighting against his domination. It's filled with innuendo.
Jose Bennett
Warrior priestess from a cult of demonslaying amazons that she her as the champion sent here to challenge her faith in God.
A play on Wonder Woman vs Cheetah
Charles Mitchell
Because he wanted the best hunt. Narratively he's both too on the nose and too off the mark. A big game hunter hunting a Tiger lady is beyond predictable but he lacks any history with her nor does he share motive/personality/anything that interestingly compliments Tigra's motives or personality. Being a Hunter is all he really brings to Tigra. Frankly it's all he really brings to Spidey until he got all Psychostalker on him.
Xavier Murphy
Totally agree. But I get to give shit to people on the Internet because for once I actually read something that no one has mentioned.
Aaron Lopez
Does Carol Danvers have a nemesis?
Nathaniel Cruz
The Kree as a whole?
Joseph Miller
Mystique? Moonstone?
David Gomez
Tony Stark
Sebastian Brooks
Sup Forums
John Powell
Yeah, the fact that she totally sucks as a character.
I'm Ms. Marvel, no I'm Binary, no I'm Warbird, no I'm Captain Marvel. Also a rape victim and alcoholic because no one knows what to do with me because I'm bland as fuck.
Anthony Fisher
Out of curiousity, what came first, the 90's show of Kingpin migrating to be more prominent in Daredevils' books?
I'd imagine that Kingpin would be pretty big in most NY street-level heroes' books
Justin Rodriguez
The brood are pretty tied to her too. She destroyed their entire world and they hate her more than the x men
Eli Peterson
Actually I just realized what the real problem is you can't force an arch nemesis. There's not really anything that makes for an automatically good enemy they just have to work well together in well written stories and that history builds the characters. If you just keep trying to force a villain as an archenemy when nobody really likes them and they don't work well together, you just have a shitty story.
Kayden Wood
Tigra should get back with pym. Then make jocasta her nemesis and on and off lover
Samuel Cruz
Her writers.
Ayden Jackson
Ant man is doing it and very aware of it. Issue 3 he calls taskmaster his arch nemesis and tasky just laughs at him. Pretty great stuff
Colton Young
Booze
Dominic Walker
But Kraven could hunt anyone. I'm not saying Spidey isn't worthy prey, just that Spidey strikes me as being only one of many many potential trophies, and having him obsess over Spidey always struck me as odd.
Connor Gray
Because Spidey put him to shame and it stewed in him.
Gabriel Scott
Don't we have enough female heroes? When are you SJW's going to stop?
Joshua Anderson
Nico Minoru arches?
Well, aside from her parents, Alex "What idiot decided he should be brought back to life" Wilder, and Katy "Waste of Ink" Bashir, and Daimon "Wait, people thought they were fucking?!" Hellstrom (god she's had some shit), I can think of a few.
Sylvie Lushton, the second Enchantress, could be a good one. One is a wannabe villainess, while the other is a rebellious heroine. They are a good study in contrasts.
Similarly, a "Rigid Formula" Spellcaster would be a good counter for her freeform chaos. Someone who uses a book to counter her staff. I got nothing beyond the general idea.
Having already had the 'evil mentor' botched, she needs adversaries that challenge her creatively and on the authority level.
So, a villain that represents the numbing of ideas and homogeneity . . .
And SHIELD. She needs a SHIELD agent who gets a vendetta against her and the Runaways that tries to hunt them down. Like Agent John Garret. He'd be a good foe.
Logan Baker
Tigra could totally use a rogue's gallery
It could have a fox-girl, a mud-girl, a caulk-girl for those misleading white stains, a girl who becomes invisible whenever she puts on a shit, a rope-manipulator, a whip-expert, a hyrdo-girl, and a misogynist guy who wants to roboticize the male half of humanity to remove their lust and thus doom women
Gavin Reed
Good writing? Because no one who's touched her since BKV has managed to do anything decent with her.
A-Force is about as bad as Arena
Brayden Scott
The innocuous team up book is as bad as the character wood-chipper book? The fuck are you on?
And where can I get some?
Connor Richardson
Wait, so . . . Tigra vs. Monster Musume?
Nicholas Martinez
>Pathetically desperate for contact with extended family in Japan >Treated as a genie by bitchy adults like Medusa and Carol Danvers >Doesn't stand up for herself at all against any of these assholes >Mind controlled again >Ugly art
Grayson Bell
But with more caulk jokes
Justin Rodriguez
Secret wars a force was great. The new stuff not as much but I'm still reading
Kayden Miller
I feel that she should inherit Mystique, Since Carol inherited Yon-Rogg.
Luis White
"I'm a teenage girl living on my own with two surrogate daugthters to support and several others hangers on, maybe making nice with my extended family that isn't evil will help give me some means of supporting them" - Simple No Prize. Did you even try?
Nico treat like a child by adults who don't know better? Color me shocked! I mean, if she wasn't sassing them constantly, you might have a point. But she does, she even points out how much they leaned on her in the first arc, and this second one is all about how scarily powerful she is.
Is there a need to stand up against them when she doesn't disagree with what they are asking of her overtly (That's for Civil War II)?
This is Nico's first bout of Mind Control the fuck are you on about? Even better, she's fighting it throughout and that's a plot point! In fact, in the preview for the next issue, she fights back hard enough to cast a counter-spell to save her whole team.
And the art? I like it. But that's my opinion and I recognize it as such.
Noah Phillips
Janet has Whirlwind.
Nolan Russell
What happened to Kimura?
Benjamin Gray
But Razorback is a hero.
Aiden Ross
Isn't that more of a joke? I mean, it was in A:EMH.
She showed up in All New Wolveirne #6 with a Master Plan being set in motion! She's totally Laura's arch.
Ian Gray
What said. Bitch killed her fiancee just to send a message. Then removed all emotional attachment from her memories of him to add insult to injury.
Jaxson Sanders
And then in the annual Hank brings up how Egghead was his archenemy and Scott laugh at him in turn.
Logan Smith
51% of the American population are female.
Noah Rivera
oh shit, thats Madame Menace. she appeared in a few issues of Machine Man and is a mrtial arts expert/tech industrialist
John Lee
And the portion of Female supers to male at Marvel (and other places) is . . . Pretty bad.
I ran some numbers. I scowered every multimedia appearance of Many Heroes at Once (mostly games at this point, I'd add Cartoons and the like when I have no life again), covering the last 15 years (and the classic Marvel RPG) and I found that . . .
They got out 600 super-female characters to about 1450 male super types.
To get how bad it is, to get close to balancing it, you'd have to include every female supercharacter that managed to get a Comicvine entry in order to get close to matching the number of male characters who have at least one multimedia appearance (and even then, it's only about 1400).
So yeah . . . Population balance.
Mason Roberts
>her and her nemesis constantly call each others' outfits tacky and give passive agressive constructive criticism Shit, I'd read that
William Myers
OP here, I know that. I also know thats not the first time they fought, which was Marvel Chillers $4. But 3 encounters (the last one being somewhat OOC for Tigra), do not an archenemyship make
Ryan Wilson
She hasn't mentioned said two dependents or any of her friends, didn't even try to invite them to the wedding, hasn't made any efforts to contact them since joining this team
Sassing them is not enough. Nico is bullheaded, has control issues and is suspicious of adults, she has gotten into a ton of fights against superheroes like Spider-Man, the X-men, the Avengers, and a bunch of other established authority figures because she doesn't inherently trust them. Towing the line and obeying the Queen of the Inhumans and the "boss of space" just because they tell her to do something is not something she would do.
Fine not exactly mind control but being influenced by dark magics that influence her behaviour. The Witchbreaker tortured her, changing her personality to the point where she cast cruel life ruining spells (which according to that same preview you just cited apparently aren't permanent so the spell on Geoff Wilder or the Yorkes wore off?). That time she lost her arm and life and brought herself back with blood magic almost mindless and relentlessly pursued Apex and tried to kill an innocent victim like Death Locket. Or when she was influenced by Daimon Hellstrom and fought in mindless rages in cagematches
Aaron Richardson
motherfucker fought daredevil quite a few times and Ka-Zar like, 5 times. he's not really Spidery-specific, per se
Austin Scott
Thor's fought Magneto. Kraven's Spidey-specific.
Daniel Gray
as an enemy for Tigra, to be clear?
Xavier Martin
Scott is such a loser even compared to pym. If he laughs at someone you brush it off cause even z list villains are cooler than him. i love it
Christian Russell
>She showed up in All New Wolveirne #6 with a Master Plan being set in motion!
Camden Reed
He's an enemy but I wouldn't call him an arch-nemesis
He's too much of a joke
Jaxson Cooper
On the one hand I like that she's like a female Luke Cage who can't be cut by Laura's claws making her a tough enemy
On the other hand she's kinda boring
Andrew Morris
Molestation is no joke.
Nolan Taylor
Another reason the secret wars version of a force was better. Nico was constantly rebelling against she hulk
