I think there's a split in the business world between those who benefit from globalism and have been growing as a result (e.g., tech) and these who have who are hurt by it and have been in decline (e.g., coal). The former are allying themselves with the left while the latter are drifting towards the right. Even tat is a gross oversimplification, but I do think is a factor in this development.

A lot of the people who are hurt were Bernie Sanders people during the election. That's how I started. I'm a former liberal, I heard his message and it inspired me. Everything that happened after was quite demoralizing but it changed my perspective on things. Someone like Hillary Clinton doesn't represent what I truly believe in. Even Bernie isn't taking it far enough.
