The key point here is the fertile age group, where it does stand at 112 (or some say 120) men to women. If you consider that the birth rate of china is already very low, then adding this on top of that issue shows a negative picture for the future population of China. It is very likely that China's population will start a decline and it cannot easily be reversed.
China's birthrate will not go back up by the removal of restrictions, at least not much. Low birthrates are a product of being developed and Asian countries are particularly affected by this fact.

The worse case scenario is that China gets stuck at a GDP per capita of say 14,000 to 16,000 dollars (relative) while maintaining its great inequality it holds now. Which would be a great shame considering how well it has been doing so far.
