Streaming is a hobby. Attempting to turn a profit from it just makes it shit.
Look at all the garbage streamers out there now there get genuinely butthurt when you dont throw money at them for pointing a webcam at themselves and sitting on a game menu.
Most of them dont even read their fucking chat.

The internet was a better place when you couldnt see each other. Streamers used to just stream content and interact with viewers in a chatroom. Not scream at a webcam while faggots suck each other off in the chat for donating money to talking tits.

I certainly don't think it's a legitimate job, you do fucking nothing and get a lot of money for it.
