Sonic the Hedgehog

So how´s the reboot so far?

I don´t know why, but I miss Steven Butler.

It's good. The Unleashed arc has been going on a bit too long, but I suppose they figured this was a good way of going about reintroducing the different areas and characters of the rebooted Mobius, and the arc seems to be reaching its end soon.

I just reaalized how disjarring it is when even cartoon female animals dont wear pants. Whats even the point of that vest? If you took it off would she act embarrased like she was naked? I dont know what to think.

It's been dragging partly due to Archie running out of money and partly due to Flynn being bad with metaplots and making them go on too long. But it alright.
Champions, Spark of Life and Eggman's Dozen are all GOAT arcs that are easily as good as the best pre-reboot arcs.

>If you took it off would she act embarrased like she was naked?
Given the time she stripped down to go into the pool of disturbingly yellow fluid for DESTINY, no. She hugged her brother like that, no problems.

Moebius 25 Years Later is the true end for me, even if it means backing Penders.

>Eggman's Dozen
Fucking anything involving Thunderbolt has been awesome. Seriously, best new character since Nicole got a body.

I will never understand the appeal of thunderbolt, I just can't see anything redeeming in her or her design in the slightest? What is it about her you like?

She brings a good deal of humor to Eggman's army, which was pretty lacking for the most part. Her weird obsessiveness and Eggman's reactions to it are fun.

The comics have proven to be more enjoyable than the games they're based on numerous times.

so say i wanted to start reading this reboot, what issue would i start on?

I think I remember hearing it was #252

Spark of Life was the Nicole story, right?
I just couldn't find that one interesting.
Sonic and Mega Man crossover, Worlds Collide. Not only does it do a good job of minimizing continuity lockout, but it's fun if you like both games, and it's where the reboot really starts.
If you want to skip that, though, the reboot begins at issue 252.

aw I love these animations.I hope he makes more models I love that lo res style for roll.

...

She's like a cute, furry, female Eric Cartman.

they idea of anyone wanting to succ the eggs is hilarious because eggman is old fat and bald and nasty

The thickness.

>her face when

It's been pretty mediocre to me. Not big on majority of the new characters and the current arc is both boring and dragging on too long.

spark of life was good, though it sort of emphasized how sally really isn't meant for any kind of leadership role. What did you dislike?

Well you'll be happy to know they're finally wrapping up the Unleashed saga. The first part of the finale comes out next week.

She was part of a REALLY cheap cartoon. An entire set of clothes would have meant she was a little harder to draw, but the vest is used so they wouldn't have to draw the shoulders completely right and could fudge the anatomy a little

I prefer spats

This

>not evil
The way he "retires" people is pretty fucked up desu

YOU TOOK IT YOU SONICFAGS

GIVE IT BACK

IT WAS O U R S

Naw, I'm kidding. I wish Archie had more money, but this being Sonic and all, maybe there's still hope. It's no secret that Sonic outsold Mega Man. I might actually start reading it soon, DESU.

PENDDEERRRSSSSS

But nobody dies though, they just get really big boo-boos.

he broke her mirror but fixed her heart

Sally x Nicole forever

death might be worse than this

nigga is you serious

or did you mean better, not worse

Gets better

On the bright side Maw breaks his sentence early to use his body in roboticization experiments

Is it bad that I've been avoiding the reboot out of spite?

See, for like a whole year I was EXTREMELY autistic about Sonic and learning all the lore of the comic and shit. This was right before the retcon and reboot, and that ruined all of the stuff I learned.

Still, now I'm wanting to read this reboot. I've been told it's really good.

it's a soft reboot. All the things still happened, except for the things that didn't. And that's just basically anything that Penders directly created

And Penders was a shit writer anyways.

I don't know, it just didn't grab me. Though, I feel that for a lot of the post reboot comic, so it might not be a fault of the actual story.

Sonic & The Freedom Fighters (plus Naugus) have their memories of what was once there before the reboot. Just don't expect anyone Penders related to appear. Other than that? It's been quite good.

Really wonder if there is even a way to make Roboticizing "New" from what Maw had said about it.

They lost the memories as soon as Kaminski was out the door.

Well shit, then that was all for nothing!

Uh huh. Most people think it was because Paul held on to some vain, pie-in-the-sky hope that one day they might go back to the preboot universe.

Poor damn fool.

I thought the cartoon had a pretty big budget? I always thought the animation was nice. I thought the vest was just a way to spice up her design for season 2.

>DiC
>big budget

Ha.

In terms of being more fitting for the Sonic franchise, I think they did a good job with Sally's redesign. On the other hand though, I do sometimes miss the furry cumdumpster version.

BluesTempo best ship

look, the reason Sally has a vest is the same reason Yogi Bear wears a collar, Lisa Simpson has a pearl necklace, and Mass Effect characters have fuckhuge neckcovers

I miss her 80's hair. That was a good look.

Does he actually have fans who willing look at this shit and think it looks good?

>the same reason Yogi Bear wears a collar

The factual reason all the Hanna Barbara animal characters wore ties or collars or any kind of neckwear was so the animators wouldn't have to animate the bodies whenever the characters moved their heads in the cartoons.

>Does he actually have fans
Nope. He thinks he does, but he really doesn't anymore. What few fans he had, he's chased away with his refusal to listen to ANY criticism at all. There is absolutely no demand for this shit he's working on, he thinks that fans will magically materialize once he starts to publish. Because he's such a great writer. It's kinda sad, but I have no sympathy for him.

What a contrast of eras, huh?

The Archie characters have to be more Sega than ever before now.

Gloves for all.

so you agree that is exactly my point

hue

I'm still pissed that sonic boom fire and ice is the anniversary game.

didn't /sth/ explode over that?

It's a game coming out close to Sonic's anniversary, therefore "anniversary game."

From 3 days in the future?

So when the reset happened, did Speedy get a little older in terms of being a pre-teen, or is he still the same age?

I prefer the left DESU.

I believe that is the joke.

I read that Butler was an actual furry porn artists, is that true?

He lost his diaper-egg

I miss Mina.

Shit taste confirmed.

at least they haven't made look like an abomination like the characters in yet.

Have a better one

What porn would Robotnik masturbate to?

Blueprints for robots.

This.

When will we finally get a new writer on this series?

That would not be such a bad thing. A more competent developer could step in to fill the void.

Spiritual successors to the old Sonic gameplay are holding up well enough. Freedom Planet was fun, and Spark the Electric Jester's demo was actually pretty decent.

For some reason /sth/ gets triggered at the mention of Freedom Planet. Its weird.

>Freedom Planet looked great but was filled to the brim with repetitive combo executions that brought the gameplay to a crawl
Fix'd.

Plus the they tried too hard to show how evil main bad guy was with the torture scene.

The combo system wasn't really the issue for me, since all of the three main characters' movesets were easy to learn and applicable for almost all bosses (poor Carol versus any flying boss that stayed away from a wall). The bosses just have too many invulnerable phases, and running around like a dope took up far too much of any given boss's screen time.

I actually liked how the game incentivized keeping your character moving instead of stopping to kill non-boss enemies. Any non-boss enemy doesn't have collision damage, and everyone who isn't Milla has a way to attack and move at the same time. That was a nice touch, even if the levels feel more like they're made for Lilac's improved mobility.

When is this train wreck actually going to come out? It's been in development forever.

She wasn't a good character but her design was good.

> Dat MM8 Roll Model
OH SWEET JESUS WHERE'S THE SOURCE?

>it's been almost 3 years and I still miss the removed characters and old universe
It sucks, man. I like some of the new characters, but I just can't let go and it hurts my ability to enjoy the books.

clang clang and videos of cute animals being killed

Same here, I know I have to move on eventually but the sonic comics were a huge part of my childhood, I just can't let go that easily.

>we will never have OG Sally designs again
It hurts. I hadn't even read the comic since like issue 80, but it still hurts a bit.

Photos of himself.

I'm so glad Steven Butler no longer draws the comics. The last vestiges of the Dark Age arts are gone.

Most of Sup Forums just wants to fuck her, but she's a legitimately funny character. Sup Forums can't ever like female characters without wanting to have sex with them first, so there's some shit to deal with.

>Photo Realistic Floating Rock in Background
What the hell?

I'll never understand why characters like Sally wear a jacket, but are totally nude otherwise.

She's a tubby ball of childish evil. It's adorable

He can't be bothered to draw backgrounds at all, and he still thinks photoshop and CG are cutting edge tools that through their mere presence turn an art piece futuristic.

I know, right? Why isn't she wearing a hat?

Ha ha! Cartoon Double Standards!

Is that supposed to be Mike Tyson as Iron Man?

She's also the only actually evil Sub Boss to get a decent sized plot to herself, and that story was positively received. She stands out as an actual villain instead of a hesitant minion. Abyss, Mordred and Maw will probably stand out too if they get similar sized stories.

It's funny how clothes are actually more risque than a nude character.

No, it's Dollar Store War Machine.
