Even better than Goodfellas imo.
Best continuous shot in film?

>building space ships that have close-range weapons
this is stupid
Children of Men.
Define 'continuous shot'
When those bug looking robots landed on their ships and started trying to use a laser to cut them i was actually embarrassed to be watching the movie.
Embarrassed in my own fucking house.
Star Wars is fucking trash
They can't just nuke each other
Nope
>best continuous shot
>posts Star Wars CGI shit
I know this is a bait/SW thread but still.
Best continuous shot, Max. Schell's summation speech, Judgement at Nuremberg. 14 minutes.
>trapped by the pleb honeypot
Tarkovsky's worst film
Why's that?
long take from True Detective has to be one of the most impressive in recent memory

Too showy in my opinion. It's a long take for the sake of itself rather than to serve the narrative or aesthetic. Really impressive nonetheless.
yeah i cant imagine the fucking logistics that went into it just for the sake of doing it in one take
seeing it when it first aired it didnt even register to me as one single take because the action itself was so intense

Supposedly they had camera movements such as the tracking movement of the helicopter so they cut multiple takes together without it being noticeable, but in the end they managed the whole thing in one.
this.
the laughably droids trying to cut into them was the exact moment I realized the rest of the movie was going to be just as fucking terrible as the last three.
Why? there is literally nothing wrong with that scene. ROTS is still better than TFA.
rate the Specter long take
youtube.com
mexico liked it so much they made it a real parade
>scene set in mexico
>set piss filter to max
always makes me laugh. best scene of the movie though the rest is shit.
literally nearly all long-takes aren't planned. it's decided upon when the movie is either running out of time or money and they need a way to shoot the scene quickly. that's what happened with Atonement, for instance. expensive to have all the extras and stuff coming back for what they needed, so they just went and did it in one take
>he doesnt rate the long take of bond on the toilet after contracting Montezuma's revenge
It's pretty apparent where they cut it
This entire movie is 1 continuous shot so it obviously wins
>shot
>not render
It's only impressive when its a camera with real actors
What video game is this?
I feel like you could say that about any of them. Long takes are always an aesthetic decision, in that sense this one is hardly different from any other.
Was gonna say this, even though its from a television show.
One of the best continuous shot scenes I've ever seen.
There's a French (?) movie called VIctoria that's one shot and it goes for about 3 hours. I think it took them a few nights to get the final cut.
It's German
I'm not sure about best, but Children of Men had a couple good ones
>12 best long takes
>doesnt show the full take
Lucas should have been a game dev. At least gaymers are used to cheesy over the top cutscenes.
>building space ships that have close-range weapons
>this is stupid
The smaller the ship the smaller the weapon cache. The close range weapons would be a requirement rather than an option.
A large ship would thus be required to have close range seapons tondefend off smaller thats that by necessity must close the distance to engage.
the 12 minute shot from Snake Eyes is a perfect canvas for prime Nick Cage overacting

shame it got cancelled.
idiot
Not cinematic-ally impressive, but a one take 4 minute fight scene is pretty dope. They filmed it twice.
>100% cgi
>impressive tracking shot
gee I guess if I walk around for two hours through a world in a video game without a loading screen it's the world's most impressive tracking shot
reminder that Spectre was the second best craig bond film after casino
Some great ones in boogie nights. The start of the player is patricians choice though as two characters discuss the lack of long shots in movies throughout the 10 minute shot.
Less impressive on digital.
charlie work
>le evil white policemen wildly shooting these innocent dindus
you have to go back, reddit.
p.s. you can't /thread your own comment, newfag
Regardless of what you think of star wars, I think that it has the best opening out of the movies. Nicely establishes their bond, excellent music and right to the point. Visuals still hold up today. The opening is almost a movie in itself.
Too bad the rest is shit.
Windy road shot in Sátántangó
There was so much wrong with the accuracy of that scene.
I would encourage you to check out Tour of Duty.

Not a "single take tracking shot", there are clear edit points that if you can't spot on your own, you're beyond saving.
>wow a mirror reflection, super nice
>oh wow a fire!
>actually impressed by this
Tarvoksy is a hack. There is nothing impressive happening here.
Actually you can't say "/thread" at all without immediately identifying yourself as an outsider idiot attention seeker. And that was just an all-around waste of bandwidth of a post you made.
lmao shut up faggot. go jerk off with your star wars toys you beta incel manchild
The school shooting scene from 19-2 is almost 13 minutes and is very well done especially for television.
