Runaway Horses by Yukio Mishima

It's about a sensitive soul who died at a young age and is reincarnated as a right wing extremist. His best friend knew him in childhood and is aware of him being the same person. It made me cry.

youtube.com/watch?v=GVAUnKK1DdQ

It's also the best portrayal of Mishima's own psyche before his failed political coup / suicide.

>Isao is a young, engaging patriot, and a fanatical believer in the ancient samurai ethos. He turns terrorist, organising a violent plot against the new industrialists, who he believes are threatening the integrity of Japan and usurping the Emperor’s rightful power. As the conspiracy unfolds and unravels, Mishima brilliantly chronicles the conflicts of a decade that saw the fabric of Japanese life torn apart

“Beyond doubt it would speedily verify the proverb that a nation must ravage itself before foreigners can ravage it, a man must despise himself before others can despise him.”
― Yukio Mishima, Runaway Horses

“Perfect purity is possible if you turn your life into a line of poetry written with a splash of blood.”
― Yukio Mishima, Runaway Horses

Meditations by Emporer Marcus Aurelius of the Roman Empire

The Kingdom of God is Within You.

Don't listen to this, this is exactly what I advised against.

He should read it. It's good and pertinent.

Simon Scarrow, all his Roman books with Macro and Cato, fucking amazing.

I'll second the Eric Hoffer. Also, Plato's Republic, Timaeus, Critias, Phaedrus, Apology and Symposium with a helping of Leo Strauss and Carl Schmitt.

I like parts of Stoicism, but I have trouble with the idea that pain is indifferent and not bad. When virtue is the only good, philosophy diverges too much from nature and our natural reactions to stimuli for one to live in accord with nature and natural law.

Someone in the last book thread recommended

>The Camp of the Saints by Jean Raspail

Good Fiction. I really liked it. Just thinking about 1 Mio refugees invading a country gives me asscancer.

Also, the usual stuff that gets posted in these threads that im not going to post again because its always the same. Post something new you fucks.
