MGS5 was bad anyways.

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou

I was a huge fan of MGS but MGS4 was extremely depressing and kind of a mess up. I have MGSV and still haven't touched it and don't think I will anytime soon. Btw is Ground Zeroes included in it?

Ground Zeros is a standalone prologue.

And it's better than TPP.

THE PHANTOM CONTENT

MGS4's original ending actually

The original film S&V is actually real kino.

You can see that Kojima just copied its aesthetics for the intro of GZ, the way the camera feels so free and humane, shaking, walking, minimal cuts. The camera work is incredibly musical, detailed and immersive.

Italian cinema from 60-70's was the pinnacle of kino. What amazes me the most is that the same actors or filmmakers could go from making a serious political film in the tradition of neo-realism to populist exploitation films with incredibly daring stylish flair, while excelling in both and without caring about highbrow vs lowbrow hierarchies. The main actor GM Volonte starred in a lot of spaghetti westerns, twice in Leone's. The cinematographer Silvano Ippoliti also shot Corbucci's The Great Silence (another one of Kojima's influence on MGS5, having a mute assassin named Quiet instead of Silence). And of course Morricone composed the song. Nowadays, social/political films are so bland and have no creativeness in regards to camera work, use of music and overall style.

>implying anybody had ever heard this literal who song before then
