I tried that and dropped, I actually hate the sexy vampire genre, this actually has some decent writing.

i dont remember if it was like that in season 1 already, but most episodes have either bland fanservice or some sort of sexual tension between characters.

I mean there's a little bit, but it doesn't overpower the storyline or anything. Willow just is dropping spaghetti everywhere so far.

Well it does take place at high school. It's pretty tame compared to modern high school show like skins or something.

it only takes part in high school for the first 3 season, then buffy still gets raped and likes it.

the one college season is probably the worst, but after that its gets a little better. towards the end they were really going all over the place with the stories but there are some good character dynamics.

the new love interest is not as good as angel and the fact that buffy suddenly gets beaten up by simple vampire punks is silly when she just defeated the big endboss in the last season.
thats at least how i remember it.

ye that was really weird but i mean the explanation was ok and the character wasnt so bad in the end.

is it the music? the 90s vibe, the campness during the early episodes and amazing arcs and drama in the later episodes?

I guess everyone prefers Angel over Riley... but still not a reason to hate on some of the most kino episodes ever. Besides Angel needed to be on the spinoff, doing some quality kino

maybe the season can grow on you, but on the first watch many people dont like it much.
