Bro just bought ~$1000 4k HDR tv yesterday

>bro just bought ~$1000 4k HDR tv yesterday
>I go over to check it out
>everything looks the same, no tv broadcasts in 4k
>he has a 4k HDR nature sampler
>to my eyes it looks the same as regular HD Planet Earth 2 series

...defend this Sup Forums

humans can't see past 1080p

>$1000
That's your problem.
Mfw $3500 65" curved 4K OLED with HDR looks better than real life and I haven't left the house in 7 months

>curved TV
Unironically kill yourself

>curved

Ahahahahahahahaha!

Your dad bought one eh?

Curved tv? BWAHAHAHA

He fell for the curved meme. What will be the next fad to be drop after a year in tv technology?

>camera lens is curved
>human eye is curved
>cinema screen is curved
>TV should be flat
fucking eyelets

Cinema screens aren't curved you faggot

Kys

I bought a 43" SHARP Aquos 4K demo, floor model from walmart for $250..
Did a firmware update and now supposedly it does HDR but upsamples the 4k I think.. got an HDMI2.0 cable so I can play stuff from my computers.. if I get a Bluray drive for the pc I could watch those.. I held off buying a smart tv till Twin Peaks returned..

anyway its not bad for $250.. didn't come with a remote so I had to buy a logitech universal.

>43

Don't even bother buying anything under 65" if you want a decent 4K experience.

Not everybody has a large living room to fill. 43" is perfectly fine if you sit close, and buying 1080p isn't really an option anymore as 4K is the standard on most new TVs.

its in a fairly small room in my one bedroom condo

I watched 2001 a Space Odessy last night from my couch and it was pretty comfy. I thought I;d return it in the 90 days after TP was done but for the money I'll probably keep it.

>the walls of my room are 64" wide
Kek

It's about where you sit not the size of the wall. Sitting 2 meters away from a 65" would just be uncomfortable.

also, you are only going to get some youtube shit, some porn, and video games at 4k right now

What's wrong with curved you faggot niggers?

whats the point of more than 1080p if the movies are only 1080p? for real
just look at better colors/panel or something
and size depends on how close u are to it so u dont notice the pixels
there I solved TV buying for u all

OP never said what size. For 4K buy a 65 or larger. I've had one for about a year and it's amazing. If you can't tell the difference especially with true HDR you are going blind or it's not setup properly.

>caring about tv broadcasts

lmao

You won't see the difference unless it were side by side with another TV without it.

film is still a much higher resolution and the only digital film shot at only 1080p to my knowledge is AOTC

Subtle

Speed Racer is 1080p but I'm gonna buy the 4K Blu-Ray for HDR and wide color gamut.

most normies cant tell the difference between dvd and bluray, yet it seems like those are the ones who give into the 4k meme the most

>Pay thousands of dollars for "HDR"
>looks the same as raising the brightness and contrast setting

These threads are always filled with Jon snows.

kpop is in 4k
