Stop being fucking delusional. We all have seen the ratings. Ever since the block got cut, the comedy reruns after Toonami almost always beat the rerun, One Piece, and sometimes as far up as Naruto. And the 30 minute earlier timeslot we got last month showed how much Toonami relies on Family Guy to prop it up. No way that will be taken away.

FLCL is still so far away that it probably isn't even on their radar yet. It's equally likely that Toonami doubles in length or is fully cancelled in that timeframe

There are talented people in the American voice acting scene, but the problem is the lack of competent direction and the scene being so insular. They rarely bring in fresh blood especially for major projects, they tend to hoard all the valuable roles for their small circle of people. Part of the problem of roles being handed to voice actors by the company rather than being open for auditions. In Japan, almost every single speaking role is offered via audition to various agencies. The selection is overseen by the director of the anime and often times the original creator/author attends these sessions. The main thing is being able to impress the director and author, so even a complete rookie can snag a leading role from a veteran or even superstar seiyuu if they like them enough.

I agree that direction is a HUGE deal in the American anime dubbing scene, but I'm fairly confident that most VAs are out of the price range of an anime dub. Aside from IGPX, Disney dubs of Ghibli films, and maybe a few other movies, the amount of anime that have been dubbed with (at the time) big name VAs is practically zero.
This. Doing voice work for anime is absolutele peasant work that you either do to advance your career or because you genuinely like anime.
However, while its peasant work, the small pool of VAs is nice and unionized to keep anyone who doesn't have a minimum of a college degree in the relevant field out of voice roles

I don't get the big damn deal about muh ALL-STAR cast. I watched a ton of Disney Ghibli dubs but the celebrities they get with dat Disney money, while good, aren't like super fucking astronomically better than the typical dub.
The VA, whoever it is, should just be good at the roles that they do and that's that, I care about performance before name.
