one thing i dont understand
who are these vlach gypsies?
why does everyone here uses them as an insult?

>vlach gypsies
elaborate

"Γαμώ τη μάνα σου"

i dont know
tell me who they are

"bes sto batmobile"

The entirety of Fyrom speaks a Bulgarian dialect.

I don't understand the context of your question
break it down

Γαμώ τη μάνα σου

"bes sto batmobile"

who are vlachs?
why are they in Greece and in the poor non countries above?

Vlachs here (Aromanians) are 40.000
They were either Roman rapebabies or latinized balkanites. Their presence here makes sense since we were the 2nd half of the Roman empire and after that, Byzantium

Now the term "vlach" (βλάχος) is used as a derogatory term towards peasants etc

they are the ones that betrayed Alexander the Great at the gates of Babylon. hence the phrase "do it like a vlach"

i often saw a serb using it as an insult
now i understand

what is the meaning and story behind it?

The funniest theory I've heard on /balk/ was that vlachs are descendants of Roman legionaries from all over the empire who survived until the end of their services and were given the promised acreage, which turned out to be shit land in the hills and mountains fit only for sheep and little else.

you know what Alexander said to the Vlachs before riding his horse?

no
but i cant get out the name of the horse out of my head
Bukephalos

"bes sto batmobile"

Yeah it's one of the theories around their origin but there's 0 evidence to prove it I think

Boukephalas*

i would really kill you if i had the chance

Greeks should be educated about impregnating northern scum

we have no time for this mickey mouse bullshit
hurry up and
"bes sto batmobile"

all the insults on Greece are just lies
or forced trash like pay debts

because there is nothing to insult in real life

...

Romanians are just local Balkanites with a good amount of Slavic admixture. Aromanians must be similar though I haven't seen their results

Aromanians have been documented to exist here since 13-14th century I think
probably nomadic Roman rapebabies or something

Romanians are 100% slavshits, their DNA is nowhere near Greek/Italian

Aromanians migrated to the south around the 10th - 11th centuries or so from further north, probably Moesia. it's likely that Romanians went up north to Romania (former Dacia) around that time too

no, genetically they aren't "100% Slavshits", they have clear native Balkan ancestry to a considerable degree. stop opining on things you know nothing about

modern Greeks and Italians aren't the exact same as the ancient ones either, though they're closer to the ancient Balkans than Romanians and Balkan Slavs are, so they aren't a benchmark

giati tou apadas sta sovara? afou vlepeis kouvalaei thimo mesa tou, mono o kirios borei na ton swsei twra

Romanians are not Slavic, they are shorter amd darker in complexion.

I mean, even more so than you or us. Here's some Finno-Slavs for you: youtube.com/watch?v=0HtvH34CmZY

Also, ikibey is in this thread.

let the hate not infest your heart, brother, we're all God's children, apart from ikibey who's a muslim.

these phenotypical impressions don't count. Romanians and Bulgarians are overall very similar genetically, basically sibling populations which tells you that they formed via the same basic admixture, Paleo-Balkans + Slavs (+ some other, minor stuff) in somewhat different proportions

plus Romanians and Bulgarians look very similar too, honestly

can average Greek woman cook?
are they good house wives?

Depends the kind of food you want, there's this famous saying about Greek women and cooking.

what saying?
they cant be worse than german women
and their dog food
i dont even understand why they call it food

>what saying?

"bes sto batmobile"

seems no Greek is here anymore
kαληνύχτα

Hail Hellas!

(´・ω・`)

Eskandir was the most based Greek in history. The rest where mere philosophers but he raised the sword, won the hearts of his people and conquered the world.

Just started duolingo Greek. Very fun language, mostly regular phonetic pronunciation it seems. Failing terribly pronouncing Γ though. The sound seems to be made from the back of the mouth somehow "gyaama". The amount of "g" to use also seems to fluctuate with the word...

GIVE BACK THE GOLDEN FLEECE

I sold it to Germany, sorry

How goofy would it be to speak using the neuter version of the article? For example, would saying "το πάπια" instead of "η πάπια" for most words be laughably strange? Asking because duolingo doesn't seem to stress the gender often after introducing a word

>would saying "το πάπια" instead of "η πάπια" for most words be laughably strange

yes

So you general reserve το for neuter nouns and respect the grammatical article all other times?

Yeah. Using the wrong article is a huge red flag.
99% of words ending in -ος -ας -ης are masculine.
99% of words ending in -α -η are feminine.
There are very few exceptions but they are regularly used in common talk, like -street- is -η οδός-. Despite ending in -oς it's a feminine word.

I am 100% Mycenean actually

>For example, would saying "το πάπια" instead of "η πάπια" for most words be laughably strange?
Extremely

>en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memnon_(mythology)
>Zeus favours both of them and makes each man tireless and huge so that the whole battlefield can watch them clash as demigods. Eventually, Achilles stabs Memnon through the heart, causing his entire army to flee in terror. In honour of Memnon, the Gods collect all the drops of blood that fall from him and use them to form a huge river that on every anniversary of his death will bear the stench of human flesh.
