There will never be a horror movie better than this

>There will never be a horror movie better than this

the exorcist is scary, Halloween is comfy but not scary at all

Maybe not, but this is pretty fun.

First Nightmare on Elm Street is fucking fun as fuck, too. Great sfx. My personal fave after Halloween.

I cant wait for october amc always runs a halloween marathon up until halloween night

halloween is so fucking comfy. it may be the comfiest movie i've ever watched. it just reminds me of being a kid during october.

there was a guy running around and stabbing people when you were a kid?

top kek user, el oh el

Hardee harr harr

>only three more months until the holiday season starts
Jeez man

Comfiest holiday, too. October is bestober

>the exorcist is scary

I love Halloween but I have to agree. Most of the time I just get creeped out by certain visuals or moments (one example when he is peaking out from the trees on the sidewalk and you can barely see him)

>implying i still cant rewatch the spidercrawl scene

i wish more people realized this. fall is top tier season

Well, I guess I just don't get it. I'm not trying to pass off as a tough guy or anything but I never understood what was supposed to be so scary about The Exorcist. Sure, it's well made, and well acted but it isn't scary.

>blocks your path

A 15yo got stabbed in front of my school once when I was like 13. I remember a friend calling me to tell me and I got really excited and there was still blood on the ground where he was stabbed and it was just awesome. Another time some junkie broke into the school and a janitor apparently found him just sitting in the dark in an empty classroom. Because it was on our floor during recess everyone was running around panicking. The thrill was great. Best part is that it was around 6pm in late autumn so it was already dark outside.

>the exorcist is scary,
yeah to retarded christian murfats that think they're gonna get possessed 'cause they're fucking dipshits

exorcist is honestly fucking hilarious. I'm not memeing, I genuinely laughed my dick off the last time I watched it. you are such a tool.

not that any horror movie is scary for that matter, halloween included.

what an autistic post

Well aren't you just the coolest fucking cat

no, just an adult that doesn't wet the bed

fuck you bro, sometimes i don't make it to the bathroom

i bet you started acting and dressing differently abruptly at age 18 and wanted desperately to be thought of as a grown up

You sound like someone who used to be terrified of horror movies but recently hit the age where you can handle watching them by yourself.

that's actually me

*blocks your path*

Not with those shitty looking rubber monsters you don't.
Carpenter totally dropped the ball there.

the rubber monsters are comfy as fuck

Yeah but you dont come on here bragging about it and calling people names.

*dances autistically*

Halloween is a poorly paced piece of shit and only posers claim to like it, nobody genuinely does.

They aren't supposed to be.
I recently rewatched it and it's much weaker than I remembered, while Prince of Darkness was much better than I remembered.
The script for ITMOM is awful and Carpenter seems to have spent the last of his talent in trying to make something watchable out of it.

do you honestly not laugh at "your mother sucks cocks in hell"? don't you at least crack a smile? or do you sit there clutching your bible tighter while saying ten hail marys?

only two horror movies ever frightened me. pet sematary when I was 5, candyman when I was 10. that's it (of course now I give no fucks). saw many horror movies growing up, including stephen king's It when I was 7 or 8, literally gave no fucks while all the other idiots were crying. I saw Stephen King's It alone again when I was 10 years old and I thought it was lame as shit (that shower scene with the moving pipes was especially retarded). Saw Exorcist and Exorcist 3 at about 12 years old, absolutely zero fucks given. many others, too. people are pussies.

It's actually brilliantly paced and shot. The problem with it is that it isn't a movie that can be rewatched that many times. It's all about tension and suspense and once that's gone, the movie's left kinda hollow. But it's a really well made film.

Well when I saw Pet Sematary and Candyman I wasnt scared like you little shit-punk.

The family dinner scene is one of the greatest horror scenes ever. The contrast between how absurd everything is and how terrified the girl is, all shot in a very deadpan and straight way, is brilliant. Hooper fucked up by turning it into a straight up comedy for the sequel.

Mmmh...

someone bust out the leddit horror pic plz
this thread needs it like no thread has needed it before

>blocks you are path

*shits on your path*

Why do people say stupid shit like this? That nobody likes a movie that the majority of people do.

>rocks your path

It was made by Carpenter in his prime

The majority of people are liars who claim to like it, either because they haven't seen it but want to seem culture and/or don't remember that nothing happens between the opening credits and 45 minutes into the film.

Lets come to a consensus here. Which horror movie is most comfy?

It makes them feel special and smart.

Halloween & The Thing

I fucking love John Carpenter. I fucking love his movies. I even like his C- trash like Ghosts of Mars.
The only one I never saw for unknown reasons until last year is Halloween and let me tell you, it was underwhelming and boring shit.
I respect its cultural influence, but that's about it.

>The majority of people are liars who claim to like it, either because they haven't seen it but want to seem culture and/or don't remember that nothing happens between the opening credits and 45 minutes into the film.
source?

Then how'd it make so much damn money in a time where word of mouth could make or break a movie?

>his movies have to have nonstop action
transformers is more your speed sport
I like halloween genuinely btw, i like nothing happening in movies if something eventually does happen

Wow, an autistic fedora tipper. That's a first on Sup Forums.

>I recently rewatched it and it's much weaker than I remembered, while Prince of Darkness was much better than I remembered.
You are mentally ill.

t. Zodiac

By having a good ending. As long as it's not bad enough to make people walk about, the middle 2/3rds can be anything you want.

well memed Sup Forumsro

>the exorcist is scary

>euphoric

*blocks your path*

You can't friend-zone me you FUCKING BITCH!!!

>that bulge
B I G G U Y

>horror flick
>its just the director filming actuall murders with hidden and body cams throughout a large complex
why has no one done this yet?

Too busy making stupid le atmosphetic garbage for middle brow faggots

'cause then it would be a snuf film m8

>snuff film
I WANT SOME KINO AND I WANT IT NOW GOD DAMMIT

>not being individual enough to recognise good movies from the bad, so just lumps everything into "reddit xd"

go make it m8

I imagine those things would be quite expensive and hard track down, being illegal and all that. It won't be worth it.

The first Halloween is fucking sleep inducing

>tfw I live in Los Angeles near where the original Halloween was filmed
>tfw it's still 80 degrees in October

lol this whole post

>nuy a shit tonne of USBs
>drop them all around the world
>get people to spam upload them via internet cafes via burner laptops
>send it using a botnet of 500 email senders
>hide it frame by frame in some videos
or
>just live stream it on facebook
>the dont get taken down
people always joke about me shooting up the office though, they better watch their back when UMARU season 2 gets cancelled

I approve of this post. I rarely see genuine internet tough guy posturing on modern Sup Forums. Nowadays everything is layered in irony.

lol it doesn't make you a tough guy to watch a movie and not shit your pants you dumb manchild

Meh. This sounds like a cringey segment from one of the VHS movies.

I sincerely find the Poughkeepsie Tapes to be rather unsettling.
Mostly because the killer is truly fucked up in the head and the parts where he's just stalking the victims are wew...
Not to mention how he also fucks up that kidnapped girl

Calm down user, the nugget won't get cancelled.

I said internet tough guy. There's a major distinction there. Anyway, I find your posts refreshingly genuine and approve. Keep it up.

is this shit just torture porn like saw or what?

glad I got you through the day babe

some of you are alright, dont go to The Office tommorow!

What kind of school did you go to

Anyone who says The Ring didn't scare them as a kid is a fucking liar.

Is this worth a watch?

You've thought this out quite a bit

saw it when I was 16. no fucks given.

>the ring
lol, my older sister was shit scared of the ring, couldnt go near an old CRT TV for a few weeks, hellraiser is some scarey shit, only flick i became afraid of 2bh

>he doeasnt plan out his crimes by turning them into a joke so no one will take you seriously enough to stop you
i dont know why, but making something into a joke makes people powerless to stop it, must be brainlets

I haven't seen The Ring but Scary Movie 3 was spooky sometimes.

>ywn be a pre teen watching horror movies in the dead of the night and actually getting shitless scared by them again
Depressing. I used to get scared even from slasher movies like I know what you did last summer

>hellraiser is some scarey shit, only flick i became afraid of 2bh
saw hellraiser when I was 13, no fucks given

fapped to the ass shot of the chick though

>I used to get scared even from slasher movies like I know what you did last summer
god you're such a pussy

Exactly. I was terrified of Chucky too. I was friends with a 'that kid' whose parents had HBO. I have fond memories of watching Real Sex with the volume turned way down at 1am.

>tfw used to watch my recorded vhs of Child's Play 2 every Sunday as a ritual to toughen me up against horror movies
I miss those days
Nowadays horror just doesn't scare me anymore besides le jumpscare moments

Hellraiser is comfy for me, but mostly for nostalgic reasons. I don't think I'd call it a "comfy" film.

My first ever slasher movies my parents let me rent for a sleepover were Child's Play 2 and Friday the 13th part 6.

Saw every Child's Play as a kid. No fucks given. You're all so fucking gay.

There are 2 completely different 1928 adaptations of the Fall of the House of Usher that are better than this. Let alone horror movies as a whole.

Quit being a fag and join in on the comfy horror movie discussion. First pair of horror movie tits? Mine was Puppet Master II.

No, I just grew older and learned to appreciate movies in a different way. Eventually, you'll see that ITMOM is pure flash and unconnected scenes without any real point, while Prince of Darkness is great minimalistic filmmaking in the vein of Assault on Precinct 13 (although not as good), with a great soundtrack (ITMOM's was pretty damn bad).
All in all, I'd say that ITMOM is the tipping point of Carpenter's carreer, where you still see many of the things that made him such a legendary director but you can also start seeing all the faults that would turn his 90s output into a rather mediocre version of himself.

LOL
