I have a theory as to why South Korea can't simply kill the giant Kaiju Omnic that menaces it every year despite how mankind has had decades worth of experience destroying Omnics.

The secret behind the Kaiju Omnic's adaptability is that it's a mobile Omnium factory. Damaging the Omnic too much could cause its core to rupture and because it lives so close to Korea even in its dormant state, you've got two possible volatile outcomes:

1) Land: The core detonates and the explosion wipes out whatever coast side city it's attacking, killing everyone there.

2) Sea: The resulting core detonation causes an enormous tidal wave that will wash over the coast. Depending on where it exploded, it may cause severe geological disturbances that could threaten the stability of the entire nation.

The South Korean government, not wanting their country to become the next Australian Outback, send the MEKA pilots to subdue and fight off the giant Omnic while their scientists try to figure out a way to disable it safely. Which, given that it evolves and adapts after each fight, is pretty futile. The bigwigs also want to save face, so they're keeping this information classified, especially from the MEKA pilots.

There's nothing wrong with the feature. It's a great feature when used properly since it allows people who contribute in some way to be recognizable while in the process of contributing, minimizing the confusion that can arise from having everyone be anonymous.

The problem is when people who contribute absolutely nothing use it because they're so needy for attention that they need to build themselves an identity on a website focusing on the idea of posting anonymously, as if their opinions are just that important. And surprise, the people who feel the need to use a trip/name for no reason are usually people with garbage opinions.
