A nice bookshelf is really hard to get when you don't go outside. Even though I ordered it online, it took quite a few calls to UPS to explain to them that I needed the delivery guy to open the box and pass it piece-by-piece through my bedroom window.

Not really doing it for me. Garfield minus Garfield brings attention to the fact that in the actual strip John is really just talking to himself, as Garfield not being there doesn't really change anything. This changes the context of the strips completely and just seems nonsensical.
I always found the ones implying Ronnie was in her imagination even better.
