Alright, change of plans. Thanks to a kind user we're doing something a little different this time around. Time to take a trip to 1981 Britain!

Kinda wish I had posted this during Brexit desu

As you can see, this first volume is all penned by Dave Thorpe, as is part of the second one. Moore would replace him soon enough.

>Stick with it, it gets better!
lol
Poor Thorpe

And here's a little much needed recap.

Sorry Cap'n, but your previous costume kinda sucked.

If you want to see something really crazy, read Miracleman, then this, then Excalibur. Davis' evolution is insane.

...

...

How topical.

...

Oh yeah, sorry for taking this bit from you, X-user The Second, but I kinda needed to run it since Betsy is joining UXM relatively soon. I kinda miscalculated things heh.

...

Shit shit feels so random.

...

...

...

...

>Huh?!
Understatement of the friggen' century, what the hell is going on?

...

An... army of John Steeds?

What an annoying character.

>that last panel
Uh...

That's not how evolution works but whatevs.

...

It's almost funny how scared the British left are/were of the BNP. They were a thing for about five minutes in 2005 and got a few council seats then they promptly collapsed into corruption and infighting (the expenses scandal revealed that every single BNP councillor had been taking the maximum permitted expenses) while all their non-stormfag support went to the kippers.
They got about 1600 votes in last year's general election.

>X-Men
>Captain Britain
so that's where those rights lie?

You havin' a stroke there, buddy?

>30 years ago the concept of armed police was seen in the UK as a sign of a fascist state
What a wonderful utopia Blair built for us.

Nope, apparently Marvel Studios owns him.

...

...

I'm guessing Psylocke's another one of those iffy cases then?

...

Uh, thanks for stopping those guys, guys.

Yeah, apparently they couldn't use certain aspects of her past in Apocalypse, which is why she's such a different character. Damn movie rights.

...

Good riddance to bad rubbish, I say!

I was going to say I guess that means if she's in the MCU she'd have to be played by a white actress but then I realized that was stupid.

Couldn't you do that before, lady?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Fox owns Psylocke 100%

As we'll see later here, Merlyn can be a real prick.

...

Now the fun really begins.

That's right, time for The Original Writer!

...

...

Is there an archive of all these threads?

...

tyty. Only used Rebbeca Black b4.

>We'll get you, flying man! We Marvel citizens roll that way!

...

np

...

...

Oh boy, here we go!

...

The Fury does not fuck around.

Are all Captain Britain stories weird like this?

Presumably the MCU would be allowed to use "Betsy Braddock".

You da real MVP.
Comikino right here.

All the good ones.
The years preceding this were very wobbly & indistinct in that "what the fuck are we supposed to do with this character" Ms Marvel way.

Whoops, sorry about that. Let's continue.

I think MCU could use her as a british telepath, but not a Asian ninja.

Good to see good ol' beardo shared my distaste for Jackadaw.

Moore's Captain Britain is weird but in a different way, I think his run is more focused than Thorpe's and definitely easier to follow.

Best Psylocke desu

...

I totally agree, she wasn't terrible after they changed her, but she was better before. I think they just didn't know what to do with so many telepaths on or around the team(s).

And of course, Marvel citizens being the retards they are, loved that idea.

>their dead
Guess not even Alan Moore is immune to chatspeak.

>Miracleman
Doubt.jpg

I like to call this run "Captain Britain gets his shit pushed in", because that's exactly what happens through most of it.

Oh thank god I'm not alone, I swear everyone's come down with a serious case of yellow fever when it comes to Psylocke.

...

>He must have been a very big man
For you.

I seriously love how Moore worked an exposition dump into his story, it surprisingly enough feels really natural.

...

tfw too late to post along as i read.

excited for this stuff even if we won't get to The Original Writer for a while

...

that Swamp Thing issue that's a reprint but with some wrap around pages is like one of my favorite Moore things.

Hey, it's a rite of passage for all superheroes worth their salt.

>tfw everything above this isn't in any of the TPBs
baka desu senpai

Great fucking page.

>dat Excalibur reference

They're in the omni.

...which I now realize is selling for 500 goddamn dollars. Guess I lucked out.

But we see it happen in Captain U.K.'s flash back. He gets taken out alongside all the others.

If I had the time I would run Moore's Swamp Thing all the time.

I know, I just still find it a little hard to believe. And both by the Original Writer!

...

...

...

Scatterbrain is one hell of a drug.

...

>Google it
>"from as low as £270!"
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

...

Yeah... sorry about that, user.

I've been looking for the Jaspers warp storyline for a long time, cheers user.
