MASSIVE NEWS DDOS HAPPENING

I work for CBC and we are being absolutely swamped right now we haven't ever seen an attack like this we are getting 120,000,000 pings per minute which is more than 10 times bigger than our biggest attack in our history of online publishing.

Someone on my facebook just said that National Defense warning just went out and her husband does work for a government security corporation. Has someone been staging their troops? Everyone in my office thinks there is about to be a big coup or invasion somewhere. I know reuters and associated press and also being hammered right now. Anyone know what's going on?

We were told before they sealed off our entire (rather small as we use distributed federal servers) IT team that it was 120,000,000 attacks (pings I was told but that might not be right) from all over the world every minute. ~30 minutes ago and ~15 minutes after that almost all of us got locked out of our workstations.

This is somewhat unrelated but who else thinks the factory fires/explosions are caused by cyberattacks between china and the us. For example last night there was an explosion at a plant in china and now today there was a fire at a plant in michigan.
