What a terrible time that was. None of the movies were diverse.

I'll buy that for a dollar.

too many white people!!
films are better now

I see what you're doing there, but one of the gang was black, another was Asian. Murphy's captain was black, and Murphy's partner was a woman. Nice try.

The fact that you think that was good enough shows just how much farther we still have to go before these things aren't problematic.

...

This scene left a strong impression on the 9 years old me back then.

horrible movie, justice must be compassionate not punitive, we must learn more from muslims and the noble african people

Is this kino?

Why did Clarence think that Bobby could fly, given that there was no prior evidence that he could? He didn't even have wings.
Very sloppy writing tbqh

>black guy is the crazy, violent one
>Asian dies first
>captain always being put down by white OCP execs
>woman gets her partner killed his first day on the job

Negative depictions doesn't mean diverse

My problem was that whilst the cast was semi-diverse the LGBT community wasn't represented at all. Why weren't there any trans cops working? Is Paul trying to suggest that they would not make suitable officers?
Robocop should also have been more robot and less man - if anything the robot should have been gender non-binary

Your move, creep

I was 11yo when Rocobob was released

jus sayin

Can't wait till I'm an oldfag looking back on big pop culture movies I liked in the 2010s. Just need to find good pop culture movies in the 2010s first.

Thanks for posting OP. Don't let these faggots derail your thread. Gonna rewatch this tonight.

>He thinks it turned 30 today even though it was released in February, which a 5 second google could have told you

wow what a special guy

Who cares? I'd rather have a RoboCop thread than 'Simpsons jokes you didn't get' or some stupid shit.

good post user

...

5 years ago Dredd was released

Yea but Robocop was a cis male

>tfw google cucked me with the UK release date which was Feb '88

REEEEEEEEEEE
I'msorry

Fellowship of the Ring will be 16 years old this year.

Me too, user. I was 8. Grandma took me to see it.

>grandma taking her 8 years old grandson to see Robocop at the theater

Sounds like the best grandma ever and at the same time the most irresponsible.

'Do you feel lucky punk?' -Terminator.

Luckily, 3 years later, best Robocop was released.

>this is what drones actually believe
Best robocop coming through.

>"robot cop"
>is actually a cyborg

>muh le strong anarchist rebel nigress leader
>muh le 8 yo girl hacker
>muh le jet pack meme
No thanks, I'll stick to my based Kirshner/Frank Miller kino, pleb.

>muh le 8 yo girl hacker

The gang leader is an 8 year old in 2 though

but he's a baddy 'though'

is Robocop objectively kino?

30 years ago movies were good

what happened to movies

Not kino, Murphy.

The MCU happened and the producers realized that talent and quality weren't needed to sell big.

It's right up there with Starship Troopers
youtube.com/watch?v=OkEdyq3UE5M&t=2s

The 1980's were a great time for movies. Budgets were small enough to where studios would take risks and crews would have to make the budget work. Nowadays, money isn't an issue and you can just see the laziness up on the screen. Movies like The Terminator and Robocop will never happen again.

I remember being absolutely horrified as a kid during the shooting scene of Murphy before he became an android because it was so gory. But when I rewatch robocop, the scene isn't there.

Am I missing something? Was my VHS copy cut?

>...Murphy

>Another one who doesn't get Robocop is satire and Verhoeven is probably closer to the left than the right.

detroit is starting to look cleaner by the year sooner or later we will have real robocops

God I fucking love that ending so much. It's exactly what the audience wants to see.

Are leftists ever not making (((satire)))?
Serious question.

no idea what the fuck you're on about

Yes.

Starship Troopers is not kino.

>muh le evil capitalism
This is why 1 is so shit.
Maybe one day you'll understand modern life is hell because of african multiculturalism, not capitalism.

>Starship Troopers is not kino.
Get out.

>Starship Troopers is not kino
>Would you like to know more?

Yeah, those powerful Africans imposing their culture everywhere. Fucking bullies.

Right wingers make satire all the time too. It's one of the oldest ways to make moral and political commentary.

>imposing their culture?
oh you mean bringing school and medicine to savages, which made their demography rise through the rough since once century?
Terrible white men!

they know how coward they are to portray an "ideal" society

Mom took her nephews to see this when it came out. Since it was heavily marketed to children she assumed a bunch of 8-year olds could see it. Big mistake.

I used to watch the shit out of this on VHS when I was 7 - had such a cool RoboCop toy as well.

What do kids get to watch nowadays? Their RoboCop and Total Recall remakes were dogshit and very few original 18 rated films are getting made now

I'm just talking about the evil that Africans do. Those motherfuckers oppressing the world, you know. If only whites were in a position of power so they could do anything about it.

That's the point. It's a trap movie to punish people who think turning cops into robots is cool

Its sad really when you think about it. How do they do it?

Kys

was he still technically cis after he turned into Robocop?

probably

>Are leftists ever not making (((satire)))?

No, because satire is the only way they can create heroes. Marxists don’t believe in heroes. They don’t believe in heroism. Heroes are strong, fearless, determined and have the force of will to get their hands bloody to do what needs to be done. They are the complete opposite of everything that marxists stand for. And the marxists know it.

Rorschach from Watchmen, the Judge Dredd the comics, Starship Troopers the movie, etc, etc were all written as satire, parody, deconstruction, anti-hero or whatever weasel words critics like to use. But they failed to discredit any of the heroes because they are all so strong and unyielding that people can't help but love them.

*rawr* =^.^=

>they are all so strong and unyielding that people can't help but love them.
Or right-wingers are just too stupid to tell when they're being made fun of.

>they're being made fun of

You scum keep trying, but you always fail.

Typical marxist: but, but, satire! Look at how horrible those good looking, strong and brave soldiers are. Don't be a hero like them. Be a socialist freak of nature like us.

Thanks, watched it all
