I have a pretty vivid memory of seeing something like that in a wood I went to when I was younger (there were lots of them, mostly on fallen logs, and I remember being really creeped out by them since I thought their ovipositor was a stinger), but according to >Wikipedia those things only live in the Eastern US and Southern Canada.
I guess we must have some sort of similar species here, but I can't recall seeing them anywhere else outside of the aforementioned wood.

What the fuck is that? It looks like a wasp, mosquito and dragonfly combined
بعوضة. The really big ones can sting really hard, watch out for those.
"rider bug" if I guessed right and this is that beast which literally injects it's children into caterpillars and other insects

that's not dragonfly. dragonflies are nice, they fly around swamps like little helicopters and don't hurt humans
this piece of shit is en.wikipedia.org
I actually got bitten by one of those when I was young, back in time when I would save drowning insects from fountains. ungrateful fuck attacked me right away after I pulled it from water and I was legit scared that it laid eggs inside of me
Wasp is a family, not a species.
Maybe it was a dragonfly.

This is ichneumonidae wasp.
There is 1000 different species in Finland and they all look mostly similar.
The Finnish name translates to "wolverine wasp" when translated to English
here is a Finnish example
there is no stinger because it is a male
only females have stingers

Is Finland full of mosquitoes in the summer? Because with all the humidity and the lakes, there should be prime conditions for them.
Yes especially the northern parts are full of them
