She wants to do things properly. She wants a glorious victory on the battlefield where she crushes her enemies following the rules of war, apparently with official declarations of war and whatnot.
She lives for battle, not assassinations, apparently. I mean even in the return she was happy when someone else attacked first, initiating the fighting. She didn't just jump down and start pummeling and was disinterested about defeating the weak gems with the laser cannon of the hand ship - but at the promise of glorious one-on-one battle against a worthy foe, she got excited.
There seems to be some sort of warrior honour code, or at least a "right" way to do battle in her mind. It could be why she's so upset about fusion, it's a cheap tactic, it's doing things "wrong".
I really hope the show will elaborate a bit on the HW military values and indoctrination
