The Great X-Men Storytime Addendum - Captain Britain: Before Excalibur

What's up, mah muggas?

It's going to be a while before we get to Excalibur proper, but a certain someone is about to join the Uncanny X-Men book, so let's see what's up with her and her brother after the events of Alan Moore's run!

PREVIOUSLY ON CAPTAIN BRITAIN:

Such an awful costume.

Wait, this isn't a recap at all, it's just a boring-ass introduction. Oh, whatever.

Yeah, yeah, whatever, Claremont, let's get to what we're here to read!

That was one fucked-up year, wasn't it?

>REEEEEEEE

welp i was gonna start a pokemonuzlocke but this'll do. Davis art yo!

Moore's run was pretty great, high bar

...

Yeah, this isn't as good but it's still pretty solid stuff, and Davis keeps getting better and better.

...

>She's a mutant, like they have in America
It's always interesting to see how different countries react to mutants.

I didn't realize he was with Captain Britain for so long. Drew those books forever

THE PAIN

Well, that escalated quickly. Jesus.

Christ.

Brian is huge.

...

...

I like that stubble. That's a nice, subtle detail.

trying to think of a joke about how they had to make megan sexy as the book got popular

Is this going to be as crazy as the last storytime?

Meanwhile, dad's having a goddamned stroke.

No, but it is somewhat more brutal

I though it was because Claremont realized how many fetishes she fulfilled.

Hey, that is true. What the hell!

...

i was prepping for some bs magic to happen to change her

>beautiful
I guess? In a way? Sorta? Kinda? Yeah, no

So now someone is actually trying to do a Great Batman storytime.
If we can just get rid of Sup Forums and the console war threads, and Sup Forums might reach a new Golden Age.

They're talking about auras, man.

...

They're not gonna make it.

I'm too grounded for this comic!

Rip-off! I love it, long-term storytimes are the best

You need to take more LSD, and then this comic will make sense.

Then what does that say about me? D:

Just turn off you mind, relax, and float downstream...

If HE'S a ripoff, then we're all ripoffs, because JSAnon was before any of us.

You're not posting a comic that's been around for 75 years.

I've had hallucinations caused by sensory-deprivation, does that count?

I jest, of course. The more the merrier.

Sure feels like it, ha!

Unless you're having them AS you read them, then no.

I once tried to read the Clown issue of Starlin's Warlock while I was going through heat stroke, but passed out before getting to the really weird shit.

Ooh, I love that song. And very appropiate too!

It is a lot, but X-Men started in the 60's and didn't get huge till the 80's.

Well then, maybe I should try that one day. May be fun.

>Psylocke has a canon birth year
>almost 60

love it.

i guess body swap lets you get around the ageing question

Heat stroke isn't fun man. I thought you had to near the verge of death to see hallucinate stuff from heat.

...

That guy seems like he's not doing the spin-offs though, whereas X-user is.

I don't recommend it. Just go to your local drug dealer and get shrooms.

He was like a goddamn British ninja before the costume change! Huh, how oddly appropiate

>>That guy seems like he's not doing the spin-offs though, whereas X-user is
That sounds more doable, then.

Oh no, I was talking about the LSD thing haha, I'm not that crazy, believe me.

>Who?
lol

WHY DOES THE BLACK KNIGHT KEEP SHOWING UP IN MY STORYTIME

...

HE'S AFTER YOU

It's he spin-offs, team up books, and cameos that kill these kinds of things. I'm still finding new comics where Luke Cage and Iron Fist appear

...

Speaking of Black Knight, are you doing the post-Onslaugt Quicksilver series? Or are you counting him as an Avenger?

Haha, rekt.

Avenger, since he's no longer a mutant. I may do Son of M though.

The villains in that book were Exodus and the Acolytes, hence why I brought it up.

...

Well, here's the problem: Quicksilver's ongoing wasn't a part of the chronology I used to organize this storytime. Yes, most of it was from memory, but there were certain series (like Mantlo Alpha Flight) or minis I never read, so that's where the chronology stepped in. To add QS' series I would actually have to read it to figure out where it goes and I kinda don't have the time to do that between my studies and actually running the storytime.

TL;DR: No can do because of lack of time, sorry.

Oh, also I'm running out of space so...

...

Wait, you had a chronology? You lucky dog, I had to just look on the wikis and guess.

...

Yeah, but even that wasn't infallible. Trust me, organizing this shit took way longer than it should have. It's been a fun experience so far though, so I don't regret it. Yet

Who's ready for some not-Nazis?

...

...

You will when you get to Bendis.
I'm only a month away, depending on if we read through all of Black Panther.

Slaymaster's going to become a very prominent enemy in this run.

Bendis is one of those cases where I needed a chronology because I never read his run before.

...

...

...

>And anyway, he wants the costume
Straight to the point, huh

Brian's gonna have to wash that after this is all over.

Aw, he hurt his hand.

...

That's what you get for being a turd, turd.

...

Out of the frying-pan into the fire.

Ew.

...

...

...

...

...

Davis can even do disgusting great. Can this man do no wrong?

...

...

>I don't like being kept prisoner...and I don't like being watched while I'm dressing!
You're no fun, Brian.

I can't remember if it was ever asked and we're still a long ways off but are you going to be doing X-Men 2099?

Nowadays that middle panel would be a splash page

What have we become?

Oops, guess we'll never find out, oh well.
