ITT: Outdated Tropes That Should Stop Appearing In Cartoons/Comics So Often

>cheerleaders are all brats
>sporty guys are big, dumb, and also bratty

I don't get what writers have against cheerleaders, or popular kids in general. Many probably only use the trope because other series do.

>Person gets rich
>Becomes a jerk to all their friends
>Lose all the money, but it's OK, friendship is more important

>>cheerleaders are all brats
>>sporty guys are big, dumb, and also bratty

You know out of touch, in their late 20s/early30s Sup Forums is completely unaware that these things are outdated and will argue that they are still a thing and common everywhere, right?

Didn't you see the shitstorm about Flash Thompson in the new Spiderman movie and Sup Forums bitching about how he's too short and skinny to ever bully anyone?

most of the writers got bullied and never got over it

>asian characters with hair highlights for no real reason

The trope was outdated even in the 90s.

oh fuck that one

>meanwhile in some other thread
>WAH WAH WAH

But anyway, I agree. I'm so sick of the dumb jerk jocks, and it always amazes me to see Sup Forums bitch and moan how the new Flash doesn't follow the oldest stereotype in the book.

Animators need to stop depicting goldfish in goldfish bowls

>Person gets rich
>Becomes a jerk to all their friends
Has there ever been a cartoon aside from Ducktales where someone rich isn't an asshole

Most writers of the future are getting bullies right now. What cliches will arise from that?

>Character is forced to team up with annoying-as-fuck kid/animal/comic relief
>Character (correctly) gets fed up with annoying-as-fuck character's bullshit and tells them to fuck off
>Annoying-as-fuck character leaves
>"Oh no, what have I done!? Come back, annoying-as-fuck character!"
>"It was I, the actually sensible character who was being the asshole!"

The only time I've seen this done differently is in Steven universe and its great

They just like getting them I guess

I see plenty of asians with highlights

All races grt highlights irl. In fiction, East Asians do most of the time

Futurama did this well.

Steven Universe?

I suspect it'll lean heavier towards cliques and charisma rather than brute force and pure wealth.

Steven Universe.

And to cover OP it also has popular kids who aren't jerks.

As Told By Ginger.

Also Sam from Danny Phantom

Does Lottie from The Princess and the Frog count

The annoying-as-fuck kid/animal/comic relief is probably the only reason why children watched that show

>Nah we're just good friends, you know a boy and a girl can hang out without having to marry each other.
>It seems we were in love after all
