TFA was so fucking boring because the characters are so poorly written and it's basically just a lazy copy of ANH, but instead of Luke, we have a Mary Sue that kicks everyone's ass without any struggle or training.
Now in Rogue One, we have ANOTHER Mary Sue who, I'm going to guess, is going to kick everyone's ass without having any significant struggle because she's good at everything right from the start.

It was only aesthetically A New Hope. Narratively it wasn't even that because The Force Awakens just kinda moves from one dazzling set piece to the next and inconsistently applies characterization.
