I have seen bits of it and really regret not watching more of it, if only for the crazy style. Who the fuck makes a cartoon that looks like that?!

Only fans in Sup Forums are clinging autistically to the early season characters and hate the new ones because it didnt turn into a lore-filled wank like GF or SU, their cyclejerk and waifufaggotry turns people off trying to have an active fanbase.

Isn't there some significant lore the show gave that they actually all realize they're in a cartoon or something like that?

I think it is popular, it's getting a 5th Season after all, but It just doesn't get discussed much because there really isn't much to discuss.
They're short, 10 minute comedy based episodes where the sole purpose is really to get you to laugh. I love it for that, but aside from going over how a certain joke was funny or how you enjoyed a specific gag, what's there to really say desu.

I sort of see it like Tom & Jerry in that sense, plenty of people enjoyed it, but they never really get discussed outside of Jerry being an asshole or favourite episodes.

Yes but the show continues to be a light, fast paced comedy with imperfect characters full of flaws they show all the time, which apparently makes Sup Forums hate them.

The show introduces lore as quickly as it abandons it
They might go a bit further with it this time, but for the most part they're just pissing around. People have theorised a bit though

Ben said he already has the final episode written, so he probably has an idea where the "lore" might go

It is pretty popular down here, it's just that the show is on hiatus right now and there isn't enough lore to keep the fans distracted. Basically we're at the same state as the Harvey Beaks fandom was in between Bark Kart and the mega bomb it had last month, small pouches of waifuism and the occasional small thread or two (usually includes phrases of dead thread and dead fandom in them).

Those episodes are very self-contained and are mostly played for jokes. If we were make a list of "lore" episodes, we would get five to eight at most.

Make that 6th.

Really? How pleasant.
Man, this show will be running for a long time then, won't it? We're on the 4th, the 5th might be starting soon but with CN's scheduling it'll probably finish quite late and heck knows when S6 will show its face

I'm surprised

The show is really popular worldwide, including in Japan.

Seriously, fuck anyone who hates this show. It doesn't get the attention it needs, and it doesn't need that kind of hate

>Where should we practice?
>Schools?

I guess I never realised just how popular. As OP says, it doesn't actually seem to garner a whole lot of attention online, though obviously that's dismissing the entire actual target market

I think it's the second funniest cartoon network show, after Megas XLR.

but I think the lack of attention is a good thing. Imagine if Gumball's fanbase is the size of SU's or GF's fanbase, the writers will going to have bigger troubles to take care with. As if the constant hiatuses and animations processes are not enough troubles.

Maybe, but the weekly threads were so much fun
>That time we all thought Ben had gone into hiding inside a bar waiting for the Shell to air and had died from alcohol poisoning

It's not popular here because no DEEPEST lore and no incest shipping.

I'm not sure that kids like it more than TTGO but kids are little retards with no taste.

Why did everyone started thinking that?
I can not remember.

I think he twitted that he was hype about the episode airing and he went to comemorate

Back when Penny's true form and then the romance between Gumball and her became official. Really pissed off CarBall and Deer!Penny fans.

I'm not sure of the ratings now, but I remember that for the longest time it generally alternated between 2nd and 3rd highest premier ratings (behind TTG and sometimes SU) and is the 2nd most reran show on the network

They all jumped on the Gem hype.
They still like Gumball, but all their hype is for the crying friends to the point where New Gumball is just something to watch that isn't Teen Titans Go reruns..

>Being this autisticly mad

Take it easy, it's just a cartoon

>the two fans you mentioned
glad the fanbase is small. Or else the shitstorms similar to gravity falls and adventure time will appear

Because Sup Forums don't talk about good things

Because Nicole, Carrie and Teri don't have much appeal compared to crying breakfast gems?

Because everyone expects LORE at the end of the painting episode with Banana Joe's mom painting a picture of the Wattersons in the void?

At least it's awesome it's getting a sixth season.

>Carrie doesn't have much appeal compared to gems
Carrie totally has a good potential to be something greater. In my opinion, her overall characterization (the moderate amount and overall consistence) is better than the drama many shows pull out.

they're doing a bomb next week, new episodes at 5 every day.

but gumball does have lore

>why isnt this show more popular?
Because Gumball threads get deleted by mods a lot, and the ones that don't are usually dedicated to people bitching about how the show's not popular.

Because it doesn't have strong lore and continuity like a good show would have.

>Because Nicole, Carrie and Teri don't have much appeal compared to crying breakfast gems?
Bruh, the characters of a comedy show don't need to be deep and multifaceted mental wrecks with le tragic backstory, as long as they're funny and appealing they're perfectly good.

>Really popular in Japan
Guess that explains the upcoming animu episode.

That's explained by the fact that all cartoonists except maybe Kricfalusi are fucking weebs.

>doesn't have strong lore and continuity

>that unmelted butter
what's the fucking point?

To gain weight.

If you put jam on top of it it's delicious

What people want is a constant stream of this shit to happen though.
It happens very little, the wait between these type of events is very long, and the episodes are mostly jokes and gags that hardly or most likely never get mentioned again. At most, we'll probably get an episode or two that puts all of it together, but that's about it.

>Background gags make the etting complex

This is just embarassing, you want to validate yourself for liking the show by blowing small, vague things like this out of proportion.

No one did this with the finale's groundhog day glitch, the void is far less important in comparison.

It WAS very popular and still is with it's demographic. Sup Forums just only talks about the characters

Nicole a best

Only in the West

I love it. One of the funniest shows in CN and it has a colorful cast of characters. Singing is used for comedy and none of those cringy shit I see in other shows, and if the song was cringy in the show, it was probably the point.

I can pick up an episode from any season and enjoy it.

I would watch it but I fucking hate the art style. Looks like shit.

It really is the one of if not the most unique looking shows out there. It really drives home the quality of Gumball.

It's their fault for watching a comedic show for the continuity, really. What do you think this show is, Adventure T- wait...

>tfw thought the exact same when I caught glimpses of it
>"huh, they're using stock photos as the backgrounds? How lazy have studios become these days"
>Later on see all the kids be a complete dick to Bobert only for Tobias to say "Who cares he's not a real boy"
>"Man that was just mean spirited, who'd watch that crap?"
>Eventually someone posts a clip from the Spoiler
>Like it and give the show a chance
>End up bloody loving it

I'm so glad I didn't write it off, don't know what made me watch clips or glimpses here and there but I'm glad I did. it's one of my favourite shows currently.

I love how stupid anime fans are always invariably disgusting to look at.

Slut

You're just jealous

>having a plot is a "lorefaggotory" now.

it does. We don't know what kind of influences the void is going to give. Though, even the lore is recurring, it occupies a very tiny portion of the whole show.

bump

For what purpose?

Just to post sexy Gumball

>having a plot is a "lorefaggotory" now.
>Wanting a storyline in a cartoon sitcom

Try watching HIMYM

You should look up how they actually make the backgrounds

It's the closest body form Nicole would want to have.

becuase its a lice of life show too

That's 4 times as much butter as i would suggest putting on anything a single human being should eat.
Apart from that, yeah, it's a good combo

>tfw watched it and still hate the art style
Anime has spoiled me. Western animation will forever be dogshit.

>disliking unmelted butter
How much of a fucking faggot are you, mate

It seems you missed the recent shitstorm on Sup Forums m8.

What was about? Triggering Sup Forums isn't particularly hard.

Even John K. has admitted to liking FLCL and Osamu Tezuka. If not for the animation at least.

He doesn't stop poking fun at it though

You mean with Monogatari?

>Remember the episode where Nicole cheated on Richard?

Well, Maybe, if it didn't rerun Episodes that Damn Much, along side with Teen Titan Go!

It would be still popular

haven't watched it yet, i get intimidated by a show with more than 2 seasons

love the porn though

>Remember the game where Nicole cheated on Richard?

Like mother (slut), like son (slut).

they're poor and they live in California, what did you expect

What did you say punk?

Teen

I'd suggest the hug (S4), truly one of the most fun episodes imo.
I'd suggest picking a random episode from each season, they are just 10 minutes each after all

Given what happens to him right after i'm not sure it's worth it

Yeah that's not bad advice desu

There's little continuity, so you can really just freely watch episodes from any season and go completely at your own pace.
Heck, that's how I got into it. Just picked random episodes because I didn't think I'd be going through all 3 or 4 seasons so just watched whichever episode titles sounded fun. Before I knew it, there were no more episodes left.

bump

when is the anime episode? i'll probably jump on then

I don't think there has been one, they had one episode with a brief manga-styled scene, the one here is from a leaked clip, the episode is not yet released

September, I don't remember the exact day

August 19th actually.

they live in cali? i always thought that they lived in the midwest.

Has Nicole's role diminished a bit this Season or is it just me

The Jr. High School is based on a real school in San Francisco.
