My only issue with the show's idea is that the South continued slavery up to modern day. Realistically, the South was considering ending slavery as there were slaves who wanted to protect the South from Northern invaders as much as the regular folk. Part of it was because the war had turned sour due to a handful of strategic losses and poorly-timed events, but by-and-large it was a topic of discussion that the system could be moved to a free state. There was no minimum wage system back then, so you'd see the results similar to illegal aliens working the crop fields of Cali now. Low payed, but they work by choice. Some will go on to do other things, but the work force will still be there.
Segregation would have continued, but anyone could tell you that as the US as a whole took another 3/4 of a century to do it. Would it have ended? Hard to say.
You have to remember that the North had all the factories (and child labor which would not end for a long time to come) while the south had the food and the land. The better strategist for the army were also from the South. The bulk of your more follow orders Christian military supporting base is from the South. Odds are the continuing Southern ideals would shape the South to match more France back in its heyday before two world wars as a military superpower.
It would make for an interesting show, but modern SJW ideals just reduce the Civil War and the South in general to "Smash the racist South for slavery."
