If this was directed by anyone else, it would've sweeped the oscars

If this was directed by anyone else, it would've sweeped the oscars

If it was directed by a less controversial director no one would care about it at all.

anti semitism's not cool bro. Plus the movie is a piece of shit.

enjoy eternal hellfire, retards

I still haven't watched it.

If anyone else directed it, it wouldn't even be about Desmond Doss let alone Christianity.

Saw it in theaters. Made me tear up a bit. Really enjoyed its exploration of religion and humanity. The action scenes were excellent, but were a little over the top for what it was trying to convey.

nah
Some scenes were too over the top and cheesy in a way that was not endearing and sort of trivialized the whole thing.
Like the scene where he drags vince vaughan would have been fine but no he had to also have vaughan blasting japanese soldiers firing from the hip while being dragged.
The scene where one of the soldiers has to hide among his dead friends for cover would have been fine on its own, but nope. He has to get up and use the body as a fucking bullet sheild.
Scene where they were first creeping into battle and its eerily quiet and you know the storm is coming but you just have to wait, would have been fucking perfect if not for the "dead" body suddenly lunging forward and literally screaming like a retard into the camera while shaking his head before being shot.
Just the gunshot to another soldier would have been just fine. Mel needs to learn to tone it down just a hair.

this movie made the nukes seem justified

I liked it a lot, just wish they cut the romance shit a bit shorter so we had more battle scenes

the Pacific Theatre was honestly a bit fucked

the Japanese in New Guinea were literally eating Australian POWs at one point

Two types of men:

This movie was shit and an insult to good ww2 movies. The boot camp was FMJ but without any skill, tone or direction that made FMJ good

The movie was OK, but I prefer war movies that show the horrors of war rather than glorifying it.

the boot camp scenes were completely different beyond the superficial similarities of it being a boot camp where someone gets bullied

teresa palmer is a 12/10 in this movie

>Japs all die when they are breathed on

>when American troops get hit they cry and screech for 2 days straight and get horribly gored while reciting their life story

John Woo Tier, literally Windtalkers 2.

Overall, a terrible adaptation of Doss' Story. I almost hate it more than The Pashitfanfic

>them jesus like palm wounds on garfields character

subtle mel

I just picked this up last week, when I realized that the only redpilled director in Hollywood made a new movie.

YOU SHOULD JUST S M I L E

AND

B L O W
L
O
W

M E
E

but then why was it even nominated in the first place?

Mel was even fucking nominated for best director, if there was some conspiracy against him why would they even include him to begin with? They could have nominated Denzel Washington instead of him and get literal brownie points, but they didn't. They nominated Mel.

Absolutely no logic in your post, for fucks sake

Because it was heavily lauded and to not include it would've been too revealing of their discrimination of him

so it was heavily lauded, but there was also a conspiracy that the same people who praised it were against the movie? which there's no evidence for?

despite the fact that Hacksaw Ridge won more Oscars than every other movie that year except for La La Land and Moonlight? Yeah, it was really discriminated against.

it was pretty over the top

tre>Make a religious porn movie that only rednecks and white trash like
>Get drunk and when a cop pulls you over you express your love for sand niggers
>Beg your Jewish overlords for forgiveness and apologize multiple times, but they show no mercy and kill your career
>Become an even bigger alcoholic in your depression
>Your wife cucks you for a nigger
>You get caught on tape crying about how upset you are that your wife is cucking you for a nigger
>Now trying to appease his masters by making an anti-war movie glamorizing a soldier who refused to kill the enemy, starring a Jewish actor

Is there a bigger cuck in Hollywood than Mel Gibson?

the story was cliched as fuck. small town country boy with naive country ideals goes off to fight a big bad war where he learns how it's terrible but still maintains his small town naivety.

that's cool and it may have happened in real life but it's cringeworthy as a movie. it's not coincidence the best part of the movies are the battle scenes instead of the prewar scenes

>sweeped
>swept
>swupt

Nah, picrelated much better movie.

No, there were plenty of wounded Japs that Desmond both tended to (the one in the Jap tunnel with the bandage and morphine) and ones he lowered off the ridge ("He even lowered down a few Japs... they didn't make it *wink*")

Lauded by critics, not the academy...

and it won for like editing and sound editing which is like a consolation prize

I hated this movie because of all of the loud gunfire noises and explosions. The story was okay I guess.

more than half of these things aren't true

none of it is true

Great comedy desu

Too much testosterone for you?

it's all true. Go to bed Mel, your hair will fall out
