>60,000 dollarydoos per year colleges are the only way to join the work force

If you don't want to work at McDonalds for the rest of your life, then yeah.

whats a trade school?

Literally spent 5k for a semester course and now I make 24$/hour as a CNC operator.

fucking glad all of you faggots are in such massive debt.

Anyone who can't look at the job force and look at his education then look at the wage and make a proper decision deserves every bit of debt they've racked up.

Too stupid to handle money.

Idiots.

Now I'll be going for a mechanical engineering degree that my company will pay for (oh but fuck capitalism).

>punished

It's a choice you made with fully knowledge of the benefits and costs. You have no one to blame but yourself.

...

>lets keep voting for governments to subsidize school loans and therefore increasing the price of tuition!

They have programs like FASFA that help a shit ton.
I'm going for criminal justice right now, riding on the G.I. bill.
Feels good man.

Fucking idiot. It's hardly a choice. High school is set up to prepare you for college in America. We're taught the only way to live a successful life is to go to college.

It doesn't matter OP you can pay it back on a 20 year payback with no penalty for paying the principal amount early.

Or if you think there may be years where you can't pay you can get on income based repayment where you are capped at 10% of your take home pay a month for payment on all loans, plus any outstanding amount is forgiven after 20 years. This option is basically a hedge should you not make money and if you do make more you just pay it off early.

But yeah, OP college costs are certainly inflated. 20k-60k for a good school isn't right and college shouldn't require such a long term financial contribution.

But 100k in undergrad loans goes away pretty quickly with any salaried position.

What it delays in practicality is you acquiring a large mortgage. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

But this is exactly how I plan on dealing with my debt

I taught myself to program and have been gainfully employed for the last 10 years without ever spending a single dime on college.

If you honestly believed that going to college was going to somehow magically get you a job, you have no right to be calling anyone else an idiot.

>>go to college to gain skill to enter the work force
>>get punished with 5 figure student loan debt
>Amerikkka everybody.
If you weren't retarded and studied something useful instead of underwater basket weaving you could pay that loan off within one year of graduation.

No, you are the fucking idiot.
I have a full academic scholarship, I dont pay a dime.
If you can't afford it, dont go.

>college student
>cannot into basic math for loan and interest calculation

>not having parents who can easily pay for your higher education
you have only yourself to blame

>But this is exactly how I plan on dealing with my debt

How expensive is University in canada? UBC or something or even McGill?

>get punished with 5 figure student loan debt
speak for yourself, retard.

Nice subtle brag faggot.

Very few Americans are part of the wealthy upper class like you. Most middle class Americans can't afford to send their kids to college.

I got multiple offers for full ride scholarships from state universities on the basis of my PSAT score alone.

So you want to stick all of us with it then, even tose of us who never went to college?

>5 years of service to your country
>GI Bill... Which funds five years of your higher education - 100%, including books and housing.

WHAAAAAA some more bitches. No one is going to save you.

I make +30 dollars an hour and I never went to college. what now punk

>The average class of 2015 graduate with student-loan debt will have to pay back a little more than $35,000, according to an analysis of government data by Mark Kantrowitz, publisher at Edvisors, a group of websites about planning and paying for college.

Fucking kek

>Most middle class Americans can't afford to send their kids to college.

If you go to a top tier school it will be totally free. Those are the 50 or so schools rich enough to be "Need Blind" in their admissions.

Other options include going to a state university that doesn't get a lot of out-of-staters but is actually a good school. Places like University of Alabama, who is actually a top tier state research university, will pay your way to go there.

Not to mention your state flagship school will always have a program to keep and retain the top in state talent.

People that need to go to I'm special U end up with 5 figures of debt.

>i spent 5 years washing a hardwood floor with a toothbrush in a military base therefore im entitled to welfare the rest of my live.

how about starting a business or getting a real job? the entitlement level of army fags is disgusting

Nothing's free. College was a fantastic investment for me, though.

Don't kill yourself OP. Just pay a homeless guy $20 and a 6 pack to break both your legs. You can claim disability and have your student loan debt wiped out. Just claim that you were mugged by a black lives matter protestor.

Someone has to stop Islam you stupid leaf

how many sand niggers did you kill? probably not even 5.

and you'll be sucking off the governments tit for the rest of your life. disgusting.

For females, trade school is either beauty school or nurses aid. Only weird females who would consider doing plumbing or anything that the common man used to do in the 50s. Whats there for females other than paying 60k for an expensive speed dating?

>rest of your life
he gets 36 months of tuition room and board

you know the nu-male reigns on Sup Forums when they are comparing literal soldiers to welfare queens

Massage Therapist comes to mind

We are the generation that has to deal with the standardization (and eventual socialization) of higher education. Our parents didn't need college to live a middle class life, and our grandparents got a nearly guaranteed good job if they graduated college. Our children will have very subsidized college and our grandchildren will have free college. WE are at the cross-roads of society shifting from college being an upper-class incubator for the movers and shakers of society to viewing a BA/BS is the new high-school diploma. Unfortunately that means we get fucked from both sides. Our children will have it much better, as did our grandparents.

My grandfather got a BS in chemistry after WW2 and he was literally 'grandfathered in' to nuclear engineering. Made very good money working for the federal government. BS in chemistry today? 20k a year working 60 hours a week at a lab if you are lucky enough to find one. My parents didn't go to college and made good money working in a factory.

I am currently attending college after getting looked over from over 100 jobs (I am very methodical and kept records of each application, date it was turned in, interviews etc.) and being tired of working at McDonalds. My parents never went to college so they cant help me and my grandfather is now dead. I graduate this term with about 40k debt, which I will have to pay off for at least 4 years.

The take-away here is that this is the reality for hundreds of thousands, if not millions of millennials. Whether it is right or wrong or we are all idiots is besides the point I'm making- which is that the numbers are big enough that EVERYONE is going to have to pay for this mess.

Really its quite unfortunate.

pic is my campus.

gets 4 years of college free that is 30k/year

free healthcare for the rest of his life

pension

all types of small business loans/grants/subsidized insurance

worse than welfare queens

Anyone failing to take advantage of federal financial aid, subsidized loans if absolutely necessary, state financial aid, etc is a jackass.

I'm about 15 credit hours from graduating with a B.S. and I've only accrued 2.5k of debt on a subsidized loan, nearly half of which I still have intact. Fuck sake, I didn't even get any merit-based scholarships!

I can't fathom how someone can rack up so much student debt on a fucking undergraduate degree, unless they're going to some private art school, paying for every living cost solely with loan money, or going out-of-state.

Sure, some people are clowns that can't imagine getting a part-time (or full-time, depending on the job) job while in school, but FUCK. It hurts me to think about the life choices folks must make to shackle themselves with so much unneeded debt. It doesn't surprise me that they're unable to find decent-paying work after completing their post-secondary education, though.

cool story i wouldnt go into a god damn cent of debt to get a college degree, especially from an ugly nigger infested campus like that

>getting a useless shit degree
>blaming america
>we need more taxes and benefits
>???
>make people poorer and make the gap between rich and poor bigger
>instate liberal (read: socialist) ideals
>COMMUNISM

Useful idiots. All of you traitors should be taken out in the street and shot.

You must of did shit.I finished my BS Chemistry this last summer. Got several job offers at the gate. Making 70k starting in Florida.

its you beaners who are bring these retarded south american ideals faster to american than anything else.

Every south american nation = failed socialist state. Now they are all moving to the USA and bringing the same ideas and attitudes.

Guess whats going to happen to the USA In 20 years when its majority hispanic?

>he thinks your major in college matters
>he thinks we shouldn't tax the rich more to make public college free for low income people
>le communism boogeyman

:\

You'll be okay Broskie, I've got your back.

Le current year meme. Bitch do whatever you want. I would hire a non lesbian trades"man" any day.

24/hour is all it takes to get a house, buy a car, and have enough to spend on anything else I want.

And I'm pretty sure you're making all that shit up.

Btw I'm not trying to brag and be a douche like you are. I'm saying you can get a cheap cert and be employable in almost every manufacturing company and start making lot's enough money to be able to retire when you're 50-60.

Plus I'm getting profit sharing from my company so that's an extra 8000k at the end of the year.

>being in debt after college
Unless you're going to law or medical school there is no excuse for this

Where did you find them? Job fairs? UCLA has a pretty prestigious chem. program and I have gotten absolute shit for job offers. Mostly, like I mentioned, 20k to work your ass off and they dangle possible raises. The vast majority of companies I approached wanted an MA / Phd for 50k plus careers. I am currently deciding whether I'll bite the bullet and either do PhD or transfer and do an MA.

you will probably kill yourself in graduate school.

you cannot even begin to imagine how miserable your existence is and how depressed you will be.

t. phd math dropout

I think there's something called Interations engineering.

Business, medical field is perfect for women.

My sister has is an RN, she makes about 30$/hr, is 25 and owns a home and new car now.

She literally fills paperwork out and does the basic patient shit. It's not bad at all.

I'm just spending a week in cancun

It does matter. Go get a trade skill if you want to make real money fast you bitch.

Like I said, taxing the rich will only make the nation even poorer and spread proverty even more. All you people are are useful idiots.

>boogeyman

Hah. youtu.be/qlpODYhnPEo

Neck yourself you fucking communist

are there hookers there? how much do they cost?

and how much is booze?

why don't you go and take a few more pre-med courses and take the MCAT?

this was what a lot of my friends who were Chem or Bio majors but not pre-med originally did.

I have heard horror stories, and one of my professors whom I am on good terms with quietly told me it wasn't worth it. Also I am terrified of ending up as a shitty adjunct/assistant professor making $30 dollars an hour and working 20 hours a week for the rest of my life. I've seen them, they are dead inside.

When will college graduates that are firmly in the Democrat camp realize that voting for refugees and loosing restrictions on immigration means they'll have to fight tooth and nail for what few jobs will be around?

and thats as good as its going to get.

Academia is just a giant fucking bubble waiting to burst.

Like the bro above said, is there anyway you could get into med or pharmacy? if you do have to go the grad school route I think pharmd is only 3 years and they all get good positions as opposed to phds

I like how the guy (if he's serious; dubious) is under the impression that impoverished people too ignorant, lazy, or apathetic to obtain perfectly sufficient federal/state financial aid to attend college are somehow going to morph into worthwhile students when their time at college is, to them, completely """FREE""".

It's like that thing with "Reagan Conservatives" where they reckon that they aren't poor; they're temporarily impoverished millionaires.

Except with leftist fucking shits in dire need of a FREE helicopter ride.

If you are choosing whether to pursue higher education and your main criteria is a cost-benefit analysis of tuition vs. increase in salary....you are doing it wrong and should probably not pursue a University degree.

It is learning for learning's sake. A higher paying job or greater status in the society should be a secondary concern to your intellectual enrichment.

It sounds snobby but it is true. We shouldn't lose sight of that just because it is more difficult to find a good job and/or career now.

There are hookers but not sure how much

Booze is around american pricing, maybe a bit cheaper at big stores but at bars not really. We get buy 1 get 1 at happy hour though which is neat.

Why should rich people be forced to fund, at gun point, poor people's college tuition?

So you just sign shit without reading it or...why are you suprised you have to pay back a loan?

damn.

I thought the whole point of going was slam a bunch of hookers and drink a ton all on the cheap

Rich people are faggots, most don't deserve their wealth. They were born into families of means and connections.

Ever thought about a master's in accounting? they have programs designed for people who had a math undergrad but little to no business or accounting courses.

There fucktons of ways of intellectual enrichment, which not turn you in lifelong debts. Degree is usually a career step, if its, not you are either entitled or retarded.

>take out loans
>acquire debt

wtf I hate college now

>Let's all be CNC operators

There goes your $24

>Why should rich people be forced to fund, at gun point, poor people's college tuition?

It creates a more intelligent society and it also makes for a more efficient society as all roles are filled by a qualified person not necessary a rich and qualified person.

This is my first time here with some buddies so I'm not super knowledgeable or anything

>Rich people are faggots, most don't deserve their wealth. They were born into families of means and connections.

Some may not deserve their wealth. However, what have you done to EARN THEIR wealth?

>Degree is usually a career step, if its, not you are either entitled or retarded.

Of course it is, nobody is denying that. But you can't just whittle down University education into a Cost benefit analysis.

People shouldn't pursue careers in fields they are entering solely for the money it is best to have people passionate about the profession. It works out best for all.

K... Kill urself

The world hasn't functioned like that since the 1930s.All that ideology is going to get you now, is a mob at your door with cheap firearms demanding gibs.

lol im glad people in trade are poor for being peasants lol you're so stupid, but sure bud sure.

This is a good idea, thanks I'll look into this!

How high in math do you go for accounting? Chemistry BS doesn't actually have very high math requirements compared to say engineering or physics.

Rich people do not deserve their wealth.

Do you really think a CEO works 204 times as hard as the average worker?

skipped college, make 6 figures and have no debt

It's about working smarter , not harder. Of course it's all about toiling, right?

Should have gone to a community college for the first two years OP. I got a job and saved up enough during those two years and went to school to pay of enough for my first three years. I ended up have 10k in loans and I'm at around 5K right now. You just suck at life.

>Do you really think a CEO works 204 times as hard as the average worker?

No, I do not. However, what I asked was what YOU have done to EARN THEIR wealth?

Essentially your entire argument is based on the claim that you are more entitled to their money than they are. However, what precisely have you done to make such a claim?

Do you feel entitled to something you had no part in creating?

>Except they literally execute their nation's policy.

Skipped skipping college. Make seven figures and my debt is rich enough to have it's own debt.

Who are you to decide whether or not someone has "earned" their wealth. You aren't entitled to others things, not even if you've completely convinced yourself they don't deserve what they have. Time to grow up Billy

that seem bretty sexist senpai

How about being a traditional housewife?

>join military
>spend 3.5 years doing whatever
>college tuition is free
>work part time because bored and want extra cash
>literally have more money than I know what to do with after 2 years of college
What's your excuse? Unless you're cripple or mentally insane, you have none.

>dying for the kikes
no thanks.

>most don't deserve their wealth
most on welfare don't deserve it either

Worst decision I ever made was to go to college. I am only about 5k in debt but I want the money I spent back ;_;

>They were born into families of means and connections.
They deserve it more than you because they have their parents genes.

And we know their parents did well but yours didnt faggot.

don't be a dumbass infantry man then. You get paid based on rank, not job. Be a cook, they actually pay enlistment bonuses (upwards of 10k) because there are no cooks, or do something cool like learn another language (something you can use later in life) and get an enlistment bonus.

The bonkers thing is; this isn't even necessary.

Without the GI Bill, there is myriad federal/state/misc merit-based financial aid to pay for in-state university tuition without accruing much debt, or any if you can handle the oh-so-slightly taxing effort of work+school.

Again, I can't fathom how folks get into this much student debt unless they're going to expensive private schools, using jackass-tier private loans, covering all living expenses with loan money and refusing to work, or all of them combined.

Talking specifically about undergraduate, not med school or other similar things. I think the OP is trolling/""arguing"" about undergraduate degrees specifically, although it is difficult to tell.

I was born black, with an IQ of 70, and with seven children to feed

gimmie dem gibz now

Fuck you asswhore. Military deserve the biggest benefit of the doubt. Cucked ass kid like you would wash out AF BMT.

LOL, just because their parents are rich doesn't mean they're genetically superior to everyone else.

They're human just like me and you pal.

>Bachelor's degree from Massachusetts
>school closes
>still owe $9k
>start getting calls last week from a collection agency in South Carlolina

I haven't answered them yet or set up voicemail. Is it safe to ignore this?

>LOL, just because their parents are rich doesn't mean they're genetically superior to everyone else.
their parents PROVED their genes could succeed.

your parents havent proved shit and neither have you.

dude 24/h is pretty good
im spending 4 years getting a bscn and ill make like 35?
not everyone is smart enough to get a Ph.D in math
