Inhabitants of any newly formed country, how did it feel to wake up and be part of a new country? How was it getting a new driver's license or anything of that sort? Was there any confusion?

How was it, in other words.

bump

I always kek on this fucking name of macedonia

Interested in the question too, however

The name is really weird but I guess it makes them feel not as irrelevant

No, I think it's because Greece would get butthurt

I was thinking on the Former Yugoslav part. Greece is still butthurt at Macedonia xD

I was 6 when yugo fell apart. My father was JRM officer(Yugoslavian navy). I still remember to this day when he defected from his ship docked in Lora naval yard in Split, all decked out in his uniform and went to apply for the newly formed Croatian 4th guard brigade. He was among the first to do so.
Those were the days of pride and glory, Croatians yearned for so long to finally govern themselves.
Alas, 20 years after the war I wish(and many other intelligent Croatians wish so) that we are governed by Austria. I don't care much for Hungarians but Austrians are/were truly benevolent governors that did a lot for the overal benefit of Croatia.
Tl dr: it's considerably better outside of Yugo, and yugophiles are only acting like it because without Croatia they lost access to the Adriatic beaches. But if I could magically set things in motion, I would enter a union with Austria, with their brains and penchant for organization and Croatian's honest people and fine labor force, it would be so good. Holy fuck I went on a blabbering rant

Me too. They have that, because of Greece.

We will find out really soon.

It's pathetic. I attended seminary with a bunch of 'Macedonians' and they are so fervently proud of Alex the great and all that Makedonian stuff. When I pointed out that historically, culturally, ethnically and linguistically FYROMers are more or less cut from the same cloth as Bulgarians, and as such have absolutely no right to usurp Makedonian/Greek culture and history, they wanted to fight me. FYROMers are like an Indian ice cream. It doesn't make sense, it's a novelty, and makes everyone disgusted by it
