wtf i hate star wars now

Bullshit.
They nuked themselves and went all Globalistic when they where nearly wiped out. Mainly the savages, so they where able to globally unite due to no Niggers or Gods.
STAR TREK IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE HABBENING HABBENS!

>Anti totalitarist wrote about totalitarism.
>Anti capitalist wrote about capitalism.
>Socialist wrote about socialism.

Makes your head spin

Star Trek showed us post-scarcity.

Come back when you have replicators OP.

>STAR TREK IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE HABBENING HABBENS!

god damn

/thread

Yeah, socialism would be great if we had replicators to create anything we could ever need.

Actually Demolition Man showed us democratic socialism.
I fucking love that movie its so redpilled that if it was made today it would have been produced by Sup Forums itself because (((holywood))) would never allow it.

Beautiful.

Wtf... I hate thinking now

That's why dem soc would never work: Nobody would know how to wipe their ass which would result in a global India scenario.

yeah Star Trek makes a ton of sense where there's an abundance of resources and food is given you to magically within seconds, yet people apparently still have an early-mid 20th century work ethic.

This. The Federation is literally a society that admits that

1. In a socialist society the only people who work are those who want the experience or are bored.

2. The only way to make a socialist society work is by space magic.

Not exactly a flattering picture.

If you want a contemporary reference from fiction for the kind of world we are in / heading to go read Transmetropolitan. The worlds shit, and it's only going to get weirder.

It doesn't even do that much. The people of the Federation mostly are unemployed holodeck addicts. Starfleet is filled with the rare exception who finds that life boring or inauthentic.

It is literally canon that the average citizen is a NEET.

I actually would like that world.

I'd trade my TP for the sea shells if it meant crime was so rare the cops didn't even know what a murder was.

If I still get to collect and restore old cars and drive around in a 69 Boss Mustang, I don't give a shit what government there is.

we're already progressing towards full automation. capitalism just makes us work as much as possible to maximise profit

blade runner was the most aesthetic desu

I guess they forgot the mention how this happened after the ultimate happening and over 100 years into the future.

Based falangist

user i think you need to rewatch that movie.
The future in Demolition Man is worse than hell
youtube.com/watch?v=gMI_26oljqs

Remove brown people and you have your crime rates.

I've never even seen Star Trek but when do they mention economics at all in it?

When they talk about before nuking themselves. Resources so far gone, everyone just went to war. Then someone made Dude Free shit real.
Then space commies came so we made the federation to protect TERRAN BORN CITIZENS!
YOU CAN COME TO TERRA, BUT LEGALLY!

Not exactly.

Where in Star Trek does it say the federation is democratic? It's not.

I prefer Starship Troopers universe

I'm a big star trek fan, but this whole notion of post-scarcity in star trek is just riddled with contradictions, as is the supposedly democratic system and the very concept of the federation and starfleet.

It's not even post-scarcity when you think about it. The replicators don't produce the real thing (See TNG: "Sins of the Father", TNG: "Deja Q" or almost any DS9 episode), so it's basically like Kraft's singles or other types of cheap artificial food, and it's not like manual labor is a thing of the past either. You see Geordi crawling around in the Jefferies tubes in almost every single episode. Sometimes it seems like they have even less automation on the starfleet flagship than we do today at the average production facility. The only real difference seems to be that everyone in starfleet is eager to work and 'better themselves' all the time, which while admirable is exactly the same idea that socialists have today and had in 1917.

Get over here quick before we build that wall. You will join the Army and can Citizen. Then help us stop the bugs

RIP Diz.

You finally found the love of your best friend in a cruel universe and your life was taken from you by those fucking bugs.

Why God?! WHY?!

"Starship Troopers" showed us Fascism

Starship Troopers showed us love.

Do we really need another thre- BUUUUUUUUGS

The book is actually politically interesting. I highly recommend it.

>Humanism = socialism

suuuuuuure

In Americas hyper-socialist days everyone worked.

yeah i liked the movie, but the book was very interesting

Star Trek would have serious issues with disgruntled people using the Transporter and Replicator to make and unmake everything they wanted.

Particle rearrangers would be stunningly effective as weaponry.

"Star Wars" showed us AUTISM:

You're hilariously retarded if you think ST is about facism.

>hmm... really makes u think

Only if you're a white-trash that believes TV shows.

>Blade Runner
>Runaway capitalism

I don't think they understood the premise at all.

And Idiocracy showed us Libertarian open borders policies and the wrath of the free market.

Working in frontier outpost sounds pretty good.

>filename

Starship Troopers showed us nationalist meritocracy.

Bugs.

Heartless fucking bastards.

Kill 'em all.

#NeverForgetBuenosAires

#RIPDIZ

Star Trek only reached that point after we nearly wiped ourselves off the planet from war and had an alien race intervene to show us we aren't alone in the universe. That's a lot to have happen that can change your fucking perspective compared to just shifting how the government is structured.

Diz was a based fraulein that didn't afraid of anything in the book, Diz was a slut and probably had crabs too in the movie.

There's no difference between "Democratic Socialism" and totalitarianism, faggot.

Socialism will always end up with corrupt people at the top slicing themselves larger and larger pieces of the pie they didn't earn until people get sick of it and revolt. Then it becomes totalitarianism.

There is no mechanism or idea anywhere that can stifle human greed, especially when that greed is based on "taxes" that have to be essentially stolen from citizens.

Purely free market capitalism, with a high cultural emphasis on charity for people who truly can't help themselves, is the only thing that comes close to fairness.

Until robots can do everything. Then we're good.

>Diz was a slut and probably had crabs too in the movie.

Confirmed for not knowing what you're fucking talking about you God damned maple syrup facialled faggot!

DIZZY WAS IN LOVE WITH HER BEST FRIEND, RICO! ALL SHE EVER WANTED WAS RICO TO LOVE HER BACK!!!

Unlike that cunt Carmen who was all like, "Oh hurr durr if it's not in the same galaxy, it doesn't count..." whore.

I spit on your mother's grave.

stfu stupid.

Hahaha!
Diz was so big of a slut she had crabs on her head too.

>mfw I mixed up book Carmen with movie Diz
I apologize burger. I throw myself at the mercy of the mods for you.

...

>This fictional show where everything is perfect and nothing goes wrong is proof that socialism works
How desperate for arguments can you get

Star Trek is a series about EVERYBODY putting in work for the GREATER GOOD. Basically Nazis. There was no gibs me dats. So I guess if that is what they want.

just avoid mainstream media and holywood productions as much as you can.

I accept your apology and your sacrifice.

Carry on with you maple syrup guzzling.

jojo jo jo jo jo

never seem it this way

but you know what? I actually pictured this movies as "examples" in my own meditations

guess Hollywood did a good job

>i really am a NWO supporter

I fucking hate it when socialists co-opt Star Trek.

The original Star Trek has no socialist undertones whatsoever.

In TNG, the Federation economy is post-scarcity. A post-scarcity economy doesn't automatically mean socialism. In fact, capitalism is more likely to make it a reality. Invention is more likely to come out of a system of self-interest. Even the guy who invented the warp drive in First Contact was a selfish misanthrope.

Socialism means that the workers own the means of production. In Star Trek, the means of production is essentially replicator technology, with replicators as commonplace as toilets. But in this future, Marx's definition of a worker doesn't exist. Nobody in the Federation sells their labor to a capitalist, because labor is not longer needed to create value.

So, the means of production are essentially owned by the Federation, or non-workers. By Socialism's definition, this isn't socialism.

Even though Marx's worker doesn't exist, the capitalist does. Picard's family owns a vineyard. SIsko's dad runs a restaurant. Things are so automated, that nearly all labor in these businesses are performed by the owner with the assistance of machines. You see waiters in Sisko's restaurant, but they're most likely holograms, since nobody would wait tables if they didn't require it to survive.

So if capitalists exist in the Federation, but workers don't, how can it possibly be considered Socialism?

As for "DEMOCRATIC" Socialism, its never established that the Federation is a democracy anyway. The Federation's member planets run things their own way. The Federation gladly accepts any sort of non-democratic oligarchy, whether they are a technocracy (Vulcan) or theocracy (Bajor.) Earth itself is under military rule. There's never been a Star Trek episode about democracy.

And people that didn't want to work with the federation system were sent to penal colonies where they were made to fend for themselves.

It was socialism, there was free healthcare.

Quality post, mate

Breddy scarry, huh

I really could live with this

let the adventurous people be adventurous
let the NEET people be NEETs

seriously tho, once the machines start doing everything and there is a constant supply of resources from the stars, there isnt going to do much work to do, just.... creativity, adventure, and perhaps orgies

>Humanism=Freemasonry garbage
Fix'd

I could live with it

>really makes u think

That socialist utopias exist only in fiction? You are totally right.

Implying there is anything wrong with it

When the heresy is on point

Plus, the government in the future had almost complete control over the lives of citizens. All the important characters in star trek are part of the federation, so it's never really shown what kind of life the average person had. #communistsBTFO

>watch Starship Troopers
>mfw Argies are white as fuck and save humanity from the Bugs

I'm from Buenos Aires and I say kill them all!

>draw good thing
>say it's what happens when you agree with me
>people impressed

W e w l a d

>"WH40k" showed us MONARCHY
Nuff said

Its never established that the Federation offers healthcare to anyone outside of Starfleet. Healthcare would be a non-issue for Federation citizens anyway. As Voyager showed, all you'd need is a hologram doctor and a replicator.

Quality post. But Star Trek was about (Democratic) Socialism? Since when?

gay

U win

40k shows us Xenophobia and Militarism

...

...

This is the average couple in Argentina, yet pol says they're not white.

Part of the premise of Star Trek is that there are quite literally people who would choose to wait tables even if they didn't have to, simply because they enjoy it.

Which isn't too far fetched actually. A waiter interacts with a lot of people throughout the day. I can't imagine your average fedNEET would get much social interaction even if they looked for it. 'Hobby' jobs such as being a waiter might start to look attractive to people living in such an impersonal automated world. Also the demand might exist for human waiters, among other things, as a sort of luxury item in the future, similar to non replicated food

That's not 1984 though. That's just Apple trying to cash in on it's legacy and reputation.

why was he so obsessed with that whore when he could have fucked based Dizzy all along?

It also has Sandra Bullock at her hottest playing my movie-waifu

Nice trips, but the fuck are you on about?

And its fucking glorious you heretic

never said it wasn't fucking glorious
why are you saying that I said it wasn't glorious?
are you trying to sow distrust among imperials?
