Wow, how culturally insensitive of The Guardian.

I blame Sausage Party

>Kubo will bomb
>Laika will close
>There will be as many Minions movies as Alpha and Omega

>Laika will close.

>He doesn't know.

So he's whining about the movie being based on beliefs that are not his own? What?

>it's like frozen cause he's dumb
>they talk about death that's no good
>kids can't learn about shinto, what are they thinking

Wholly shit.

>that fucking beg-scroll at the bottom pleading for 50 bucks a year

Bonus point for the author repeatedly telling us he's progressive.

Some people should be protected from the media. In a nice, padded cell maybe.

>a movie explores a different culture which includes showing beliefs of a real world religion
>INDOCTRINATION

What a self-righteous cunt. He's the only negative review, too

Really makes you think.

He's literally a neckbeard.

I read the whole review and for the most part, I can't comment because the movie hasn't come out yet. However, that one excerpt has no place in determining the quality of a movie. It's like saying Mulan was a bad film because it focused too strongly on the traditions of the culture is was based on. How the fuck does that make any sense? Fuck this guy.

KEK

Did he get triggered during Aladdin when the Sultan said "Praise Allah"?

So is he a atheist Redditor upset that a movie is showing a religion or a conservative Christian mad that a movie showing a religion other than Christianity.

it's projection. he has learned that entertainment can and should be used to influence people so he consideres every bit that goes against his ideology an attack from an opposing party.

So, is the writer a devout christfag or just a raging fedora?

Oh yes, what an awful possibility that young impressionable minds might be indoctrinated into the horrific ideology that is...Shintoism?

You can support Laika by buying a pair of Air Jordans no joke.

>Conservative Christian
>The Guardian

Pick one.

>talk about death, which is what every kid looks for in a summer cartoon film

Worse: he's a trekkie.

>>Laika will close
Did Nike go out of business?

>mfw you can't even tell
is this the horseshoe theory in action?

oh shit ok.
this movie's still gonna bomb tho :(.

>He's married
FUCK MY LIFE

Not even boxtrolls bombed and that shit looked UUUGLY
This movie is cute and its gonna be great

>movies can't have fantastical elements because that would be indoctrinating the viewers into believing in the irrational.
Christ, what an asshole. I bet he's one of those guys that harrasses people who say "Thank God" on Facebook.

Speaking of Boxtrolls, why's there no porn of Eggs?

I was thinking the same thing to be honest. Not that I want to see it that badly, since Laika MCs are pure. He's definitely the least popular MC though.

There isn't even that much cute sfw art of him

>Married to Weird Al

You wish

>Kristoff from Frozen
>a lovable dope
What?
How?

I'm not even sure what he's trying to say here. I know reviews are based almost entirely on personal opinions, but this is going too far.

Of course not, depictions of religious indoctrination are only inappropriate when it's Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Shinto, Hinduism, Sikhism, or tribal spiritual beliefs... but Islam is fine.

Can't tell if Christian or atheist

It's literally just a fedora being triggered by the inclusion of religion in a kid's movie.

>The Guardian

Yeah, I don't know. Kristoff's thing is that he's a guide and had all the common sense between him and Anna.

I'm going to assume this guy wasn't paying attention to the actual movie because he was convinced that Elsa's indoctrinating kids into becoming depressed shut-ins or something.

You're not allowed to make art anymore without people questioning its moral validity

Reminds me how the only negative review of Shin Godzilla is from some asshat at Kotaku because he can't understand why Japan would have pride in their military.

>reviewers don't have agendas!!!!

He has a wedding ring in that photo

If I link his twitter will I get banned?

They still have those PSE commercials.

Of course, because God forbid a childrens movie doesn't pretend all children have the collective IQ of a half eaten doughnut.

Do it.

Hasn't that always been a core part of art?

CHILDREN'S CARTOON MOVIES THAT HAVE DEALT WITH DEATH:
>The Lion King
>Big Hero 6
>Up
>Toy Story 3
>Corpse Bride
>Brave Little Toaster
>The Land Before Motherfucking Time Motherfucking 1

Looks like someone remembers the martyrs of Japan.

...

The book of life.

Finding nemo.

ParaNorman
Monster House

I'm sure there's tons more.

Watership Down

Absolutely disgusting

What a fucking retard, I hope a massive contraversy stirs giving this film more advertising, and I hope the guardian goes under for this

>acceptance of mortality
>irrational belief system
The fuck? Does the bastard know how to become a fucking lich? Is he going to upload his consciousness? Is he Alex Mercer? How the fuck does this bastard think he's going to live forever marking accepting one's own mortality and living with it as irrational?

More like, he's an easily TRIGGERED dolt that sees enemies everywhere and so he thinks everybody in the world is as thin-skinned and quick to be Offended as him.

There's actually a pretty sizable internet community who think billionaires will invent immortality in their lifetime and also be kind enough to gift it to their middleclass asses.
They also think that anyone who disagrees with them is just a stupid Christian who doesn't understand the glory of Science.

>one asian guy
>that kubo

What did you guys think of Regina Spektor's cover of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"?

>youtube.com/watch?v=xLRx6iF90nU

I just can't get over the face.

>irrational belief system
Dude you can't say that
Like not to be PC but every religion is 'irrational' if you want to be a giant douche about it.
Does that mean movies should never have religious themes, or should only draw on religions that he feels comfortable with?
Fuck this guy

They did that for ParaNorman too and it was creepy as shit then too.

it will be extremely funny

I thought I had wiped it from my memory.

The non-human ones look decent. Pic related makes me feel like I'm going to get cursed.

That took me a second.

Couldn't figure out why the models looked like shit, until I noticed Kubo wasn't one, you'd think they could've put a little effort into those costumes for a big Hollywood shindig premiere.

I like Spektor a lot, but I don't know if her vocals were the best fit for this. The instrumentals are still super rad, though.

It's like you'll pull of his head and there's just nobody inside.
And then it strangles you.

Someone should win these and send them to me.

I agree with you, pham.

I really like the version of the song that plays in Across The Universe:
youtube.com/watch?v=okzl5gkzIiY

He's a big guy.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horseshoe_theory

only reason im not hyped for this is i hate Matthew McConaughey
i dont even fucking know why i do, i just hate him in everything

Almost every Disney movie, really.

All he needs now is a fedora.

>Kubo and the Two Strings
>instrument has three string

What does it mean?

...

>three strings
>three lines make a triangle
>(Air horn ex-files theme plays)

>Brave Little Toaster
Friendly reminder that you're worthless, Sup Forums.
youtube.com/watch?v=FqT2uOa1-d0

>He lets children's films trigger him

How so?

Micheal Jordan owns laika

weird, and i usually like hoffman's writings well enough

why aren't you linking btw

> The Guardian

Reminder that both the BBC and The Guardian have never once reported a suicide caused by false rape allegations.

So as not to give them clicks, obviously.

...

Holy fuck, I remember reading about that kid killing himself. This is horrific.

That's an oddly specific thing to criticize them on, if it's even true.

this some of the dumbest shit from Sup Forums,

How so?

Kids cartoons shouldn't show Shintoism?

I guess I should stop binge watching Inuyasha with my kids...

You don't want them to become weebs, do you?

>Kate is the monkey looking Mara
>Hire Rooney to voice the monkey anyway
Is there anything she can't do?

>Yeah, see this fucking retard
>Lets pay his salary by giving views to his page and netting him advert money

Literally the only negative review

Who the fuck is he trying to pander too

>Shockingly, Kubo and the Two Strings doesn’t even have much going for it on a visual level. Laika studio’s first feature, the marvellous 2009 picture Coraline, was remarkable in its tactile, handmade approach. But in the intervening years – following the quite good ParaNorman and The Boxtrolls – a problem has arisen. Laika’s animation technique has become, counter-intuitively, too good. If you came to this with no previous knowledge of the studio’s mission statement, you’d likely think this was a typical 3D computer-animated project, and not the result of a time-consuming, homespun process involving small puppets and stop-motion photography. I had to check YouTube for some behind-the-scenes marketing materials to confirm the studio hadn’t made the leap to CG images. Perhaps we’re nearing a singularity, where the digital renderings of mega-processors have knocked the wonder out of us, and “real” animation now only looks impressive when it is demonstrably less than perfect, as in something like Coraline or Jiří Barta’s marvellous 2009 film Toys in the Attic.

This is the most interesting critique in the review imo. He seems to think it's just boring, OP's half sentence is literally just that in the review. Half a sentence

cause Sup Forums isn't important or big enough that clicks from here matter
it's a stupid way to show you disapprove of something

I believe they have a cross promotion with really nice shoes. i was considering it but they look expensive.
