Thorgal Storytime Part 3

We're continuing the story of Thorgal Aegirsson, the Last Child of Stars, his wife, Aaricia, and their son Jolan, the Last Last Child of Stars, while they have adventures in South America.

We'll star again from the beginning of The Eyes of Tanatloc, because covers make for good OP

Ah, sweet child memories. Thanks OP!

...

Hey, they're mine child memories too (quality parenting), and I'm just sharing them. Glad you like it.

...

...

Also, I get to post these two pages again, which is always a plus.

Quality plot development here.

Sounds good.

...

I know that it's the Gods railroading Thorgal like a dickish DM, but why the fuck would a Southamerican priest hire a 20 year-old woman from Norway to lead an important expedition?

...

The "Dickish gods" excuse holds much more water when the gods being dicks are actual recurring characters, I guess.

So, if the Asgardian Gods exist, do the Gods of any other cultures exist too?

*muffled porn intro music in the background*

I'm actually pretty behind with the series, so I'm not exactly sure.

...

...

...

How many characters do YOU recognize?

Having read all the main series and most of the spin-offs, there've been some supernatural things from other cultures, but we have yet to see non-Asgardian Gods. Kah-Aniel and his cult worship something that seems to be real, but isn't based on any real world religion.

...

...

...

...

...

I recognize most of them. There are a LOT of pages showing a bunch of characters from past stories in this series. Lots of continuity porn.

...

There's even a whole issue set around that concept.

>Surprise, motherfucker

...

...

...

...

ALL HAIL THE WHITE BOY WITH SUPERIOR GENETICS

...

Now we finally reach The City of the Lost God

...

...

Remember when this series was about Vikings?

...

Not really, no.

...

...

this comic is too good for Sup Forums
Sup Forums doesn't deserve to read it

...

Don't worry, by the number of comments I'm pretty sure Sup Forums doesn't read it anyway.

...

...

...

...

I love how in the past 2 albums there was a clear language barrier, but now suddenly these vikings and aztecs perfectly understand each other with no explanation.

...

What's funny, while I'm posting thee I've got SFDebris' SG-1 videos playing in the background, with the same exact problem mentioned.

...

Are we supposed to sympathize with Thorgal here? He's being stubborn and holier-than-thou
>Sure he's a mass-murdering fake God trying to take over the world, but killing is wrong!

...

...

>it's the "tropes you hate thread" episode

>>it's the "tropes you hate

whoops, highlighted some text. oh well.

>Why so Tsun-Tsun, Kriss-Chan?

...

...

Kriss-chan can't help it, the dickish Gods are railroading her destiny too.

...

...

...

Why is an Aztec warrior named Nazca? That's an Incan name.

...

No, it's the land of Qa

...

>land of Qa
I always assumed "Qa" was in Mexico. Everything about Ogotai's worshipers look like Aztec practices.

...

Now, Tjall fucked up a while back by thinking with his dick, but I feel like he really redeemed himself here. Can't wait to see what wackyness he'll get into next.

Like people writing South American Indians in those kinda stories care.

...

>Like people writing South American Indians in those kinda stories care.
Yeah. Plus, in later albums it's clear that they abandon any pretense of these stories being set in a world anything like the historical past. Starting with replacing Christianity with another monotheistic religion that's similar but not the same.
