Avoid SG:U at all cost.

I started watching it recently and I don't get the hate yet, it's different but not bad.

only up to the jungle time travel episode though, so still quite early.

What is essential gatekino? I've only seen the first movie and nothing else.

...

Stargate SG-1 season 4 episode window of opportunity.
Is the 45-minute episode edited down the four minutes. Some of the humor is not lost
youtu.be/_BDgn4ijw6Q

I don't blame the cast. It's bad because the writing was awful, the stories boring and the pacing generally terrible. The writers were fine with a lighthearted, banter heavy fun show like the original SG but they had no idea how to write a more grim-dark series at all.

This was proved by the fact they then went onto Dark Matter which is a slightly more dark version of SG that works, even the small team dynamic is similar.

Did you watch SG1?

It's basically this skit expanded to a full series. Leddit seems to love it though.

So what do you think the possibility is that will ever get SG-1 on Blu-ray?
I know most of series was shot on film, and if I remember correctly from the director's commentary of entity, That season was completely produced in HD, but I might be misremembering.

>reddit likes it

great criticism, well put, I know exactly what you mean.

Any scene with Richard Dean Anderson is Kino.

It has the same problem as DS9, all of the cg would need to be redone from scratch in hd. That's too expensive apparently. Tos and tng blurays were possible because it was all model work and recorded on film.

What about the seasons that had the special effects produced in HD. I would personally take seasons 4 through 10 on Blu-ray if it meant skipping seasons 1 through 3.

It was really dumb when they remastered Children of the gods they didn't put that out on Blu-ray either.

So the official youtube channel just uploaded what they played for the 20th.

Incredibly underwhelming, looks like someone threw this together in an afternoon with imovie or some shit. They could have at least got the old actors to so happy birthday SG-1 or something with a little more effort.

Who was the better at being a leader?
Oneil
Shepherd
Young

Standard eight year old fan video that's better than that
youtu.be/jVV46w1KKmI

Oneil. No question.

>On his own
Shepherd
>With his team
Oneill with TWO L's

Shepherd

He doesn't even need a team, just let him work.

best gate aesthetics?

Better scientist?
Carter
McKay
Rush

I always like the gate design from SGU. That's one thing you can't complain about that series was the set design

Gonna have to go with McKay on this one.

McKay puts it best when he's hallucinating in the submerged puddlejumper; He's more intelligent, but Carter's more wise.

Pure "SCIENCE!" wise? Honestly, McKay. He was full of himself but for good reason; he could literally pull technological miracles out of his ass and spent years working with and attempting to improve on ancient technology.

The latter part of Season 2 is when it starts to feel like it was going to get better. The casting was mostly fine, but as the other user said, the writing suffered terribly. I think this was because they were trying to make the series feel more like Battlestar Galactica and less like other Stargate series.

At that point after Atlantis and the other movies, I can see why they would want to push the show in another direction to keep the franchise fresh and new. It's a real damn shame too. The set design was great, and if the studio wasn't so concerned with making it out to look like another BSG, I bet it would've definitely had a full 5 season run.

Begrudgingly, McKay. I go back and forth on this all the time (obviously it should be Carter), but ultimately like this user put it, he was an absolute miracle worker, particularly under pressure. Even his character defining episode and the moment SGA became "The Rodney Show" is called "Grace Under Pressure."

>That's one thing you can't complain about that series was the set design

Character design was pretty great too.

where the GOOLDposter at

Dem feels. Now I wanna rewatch SGA.

GOOLD?

based gooldposter

why i'm getting a boner just staring at her neck?

SG:U isn't even Stargate. It even got cancelled because people thought it was so bad.

>It even got cancelled because people thought it was so bad.

thank you for that breaking news.

these were uninformed, kid

All of SG-1 except for the first half of the first season. They're probably the weakest of them all.

QUICK POST YOU'RE GATEFU

It was as much a victim of shoddy programming direction on "Syfy's" part as fan backlash. Syfy decimated most of it's own fanbase when it became a damn wrestling network and except for maybe Warehouse 13 Syfy was barely limping along from 2010 to 2015.

yes I saw that post, infact I posted it

I understand that the show is considered bad, and I said I don't get why it's hated so much (yet). you then told me it was considered bad, as if that was useful information to add.

also I'm a cunt deal with it

would anons amanda a tapping?

>tfw amanda tapping will NEVER give me a handjob

anyone have the original with 'Sup Forums discussing porn' on the bottom one?

the stargate is the only orifice you need, user.

Pegasus gates were shit because no manual dialing. Oh your dhd is damaged and command isn't sure where you are because you had to get offworld in a hurry due to enemy fire and command was busy with another mission? Well fuck you.

SGU gates were fuck awful. Aside from the useless spinning and stupid limited range rendering them essentially useless, they looked like something out of Event Horizon.

The less said about the lack of any dialing device the better, so utterly stupid.

>A sci-fi series based on the 1994 movie by Roland Emmerich
TV shows based on movies suck, flop or both. How the hell did Stargate turn into the third largest sci-f franchise ever?
And why is SG-1 my most favorite show ever?

Oh look, it's a young 5.

A slice of life Jaffa show could've been neat.

Better question, how come it died when the kikes went maximum exploiting star treek and wars

>why is SG-1 my most favorite show ever?
Probably because your a pleb who never watched and understood BSG.

stargate is gay

>slice of life Jaffa show

Stargate Atlanta would be easy to produce on a pretty low budget

Hello.

What was her name again? Major Mammories?

...

Lt Hooters.

I, for one, welcome our new nignog overlords.

Sgt. Milkbags

>We will never see telegraphic excellence on the level of 200 ever again

TJ is best. has pretty big tities too

...

Best part was how they slipped in a teaser for SGU and the fans all thought it was a joke

>thinks BSG is best
>calls other pleb

too bad she's a typical starbucks roastie irl

>wtf I hate robots now!
>wtf I'm having sex with robots now!
>wtf I love robots now!
Yeah, real hard to understand.

Zelenka

Holy shit yes

...

>Tfw you will never create an android and program it to be a qt

Ezri, I...

GOOLD?

watched the movie recently.pretty comfy

spader>whoever tf is in the serie

I agree.

ahah holy shit

>it's a later SGA shoves a bunch of new characters in my face to distract me from the directionless storytelling season

Shepard was insanely capable on his own despite basically not having any skills than being a great commando guy.
Oneill was capable but goofed off with the universe somehow working out in his favor.

The ancients were arrogant and cocky, what do you expect
>lol you think someone would damage out dhd when we can just raise shields and have ZPMs fuel it infinitely?

>Sha're law

Cute

But I'm still butthurt Weir didn't come back herself

>It's an Amerilibtard bashes Brexit episode
>It's an Amerilibtard defends rapefugees episode

>these fuckers were in an alliance with the Ancients and the Asgard

Horse shit

Don't forget about the furlings.
Did we ever find out what they actually looked like?

>Ezri
Ten years later and only now did I notice that.
Were there others Trek actors on Stargate? There's John de Lancie as Simmons, but I can't think of anybody else right now. It's not like it's X-Files or Supernatural, where actors working in Vancouver star in everything that's made there.

>Were there others Trek actors on Stargate?

Bro.

Trip from ENT was Michael the Wraith

Oh yeah, and Woolsey was Robert Picardo

The fucking Doctor and only good character from Voyager

>Were there others Trek actors on Stargate?
they say she was in STrek too

We do find out what the Furlings look like from the canon game that was cancelled, but the producers said everything that was in it is directly canon.

it turns out the Furlings created the Goauld to take care og the galaxy if the four races got wiped out. They rebelled and enslaved the Furlings, the ones they didn't kill that is.

Odo, Phlox and T'Pol were all on SG-1, Tucker was on Atlantis, and probably others that I can't think of right now

Please state the nature of the medical emergency.

any screenshots of them

TEAL'CED

Oh yes, Odo was the space Nazi and Phlox was the wacky scientist.

Zelenka?

This is all that was ever released.
