Whatever happened to "New Atheists"?

on the "alt-right" edge lord train?

Because it's an easy way to engage yourself politically.

The creationist battle is pretty much won, so we needed something else. Some went anti-PC anti-feminist, and others went SJW with Atheism+.

As a 'movement' it's run out of steam a lot after Hitchens died and now Dawkins had his stroke. Sam Harris is the last notable figure and he is hated by the SJWy new atheists because they think he wants to nuke the middle east.

So basically fracture and running out of steam. I was at the Reason Rally in D.C. this year, they claimed 15,000 attendees but I never saw more than 1500 people tops at any one time.

Edgy times call for edgelords

trump obviously

>I was at the Reason Rally in D.C.

Atheist are such goofs

It was really shit and cringeworthy I'm actually annoyed I even bothered. It was a bunch of SJW horseshit. Even in the rules you could be ejected for denying the experience of a trans person. All the speakers were pretty much cucks like Michael Shermer, and they opened the first day with some black guy bitching about slavery.

At least I had kobe beef at the four seasons though. That was worth the trip.

Because we're winning the culture war, fucking finally.

Who else is watch today's trump rally?

Sup Forums is gaining in popularity. Especially in this election season, there's an influx of new people who are new to politics as well and don't know better.

>not wanting another crusade against mudslimes and leftist.

You must be new here. It has been this way for years. You should probably go back to where you came from

The fedora meme is probably the single most forced meme in Internet history.

But yes, I do notice some sort of weird transformation between "fedora" people and MAGA Trump supporters. Like the next step in evolution.

yeah man, last one was inspiring

>The fedora meme is probably the single most forced meme in Internet history.

sounds like it really hit close to home.
are you yourself a freethinker of incredible girth with an eccentric taste in hats?

I've never said we need to protect our "Christian identity". But yes, that is an accurate picture portraying me

>this entire post

>Whatever happened to "New Atheists"?

They got tired of le ebin hat meme :-dDD I guess. Not believing in something really isn't that much of a deal to begin with.

i don't hate all religions equally, but i am an atheist.

i stopped posting in the religion based threads a while ago, islam ones aside ('cause fuck 'em) because they stopped being interesting. they believe their moral high ground is implied, which is hilarious when you consider they need rewards and penalties beyond your wildest dreams in order to do what they think is right.

as a collective they are vastly superior to any large collective of atheists, muslims and others i don't feel like listing, so you gotta give them that and on a forum like this it makes arguing this and that's futile.

in the end, I am an atheist and if i were presented a button that'd convert the entire planet to Christianity, i'd probably press it. i'd convert if i wasn't mentally totally opposed to the idea of a supreme being for their communities alone.

You can only lie to yourself for so long. Race realism is basically irrefutable if you actually read the literature.

as a collective part i was talking about christians.

>they believe their moral high ground is implied
>which is hilarious when you consider they need rewards and penalties
strawman, promise of heaven and threat of hell could be non-existent within our worldview and we'd still have something objective to ground moral realism in.
we're told to do what is right out of love for God. (John 14:15)

>i stopped posting in the religion based threads a while ago,
probably because your arguments were terrible and torn to shreds, which left you embarrassed with your worldview shaken.

I've never called myself alt-right. Even when I was a leftist, I was for realpolitik, and Bismarck has always been one of my favorite world leaders. Nowadays I support what I believe to be the best option for my country regardless of ideology . It just so happens many of views coincide with the so-called "alt-right"

>shills for christianity

>truth and science supressed in favour of religions which supress individuals and don't allow for many freedoms

Why can't we have old norse religions or roman polytheism again? Why does it only ever have to be the three fucking shitty abrahamic religions all the time

IT'S FUCKING TIME FOR SOMETHING NEW. MAYBE IF WE DIDN'T HAVE THIS STUPID(ABRAHAMIC/OTHER MODERN ORGANIZED RELIGIONS) SUPRESSING POOR WHITES AND KEEPING PEOPLE IGNORANT WITH FALSE GODS THAT KILL CHILDREN FOR FUN, WE COULD HAVE MADE MUCH MORE FORWARD PROGRESS IN KEEPING ALL EDUCATED AT THE SAME LEVEL WITHOUT IGNORANCE

the idea is, if it can supress whitey, it can supress blacky. we are prisoners of are own construct.

>But the Jews told me it was the dark ages!

youtube.com/watch?v=Cqzq01i2O3U

whether or not there is a heaven or hell, judgement is judgement.

>probably because your arguments were terrible and torn to shreds, which left you embarrassed with your worldview shaken.
Oh right! That's what happened, thanks for reminding me!
#CRUZMISSILE and such.

No, no and no. It's just obvious that the people who spam the fedora meme are also socially undesirable outcasts that stay in basements (or rooms) all day and spew their bitterness at people.

Atheists were cringey before the fedora meme, Christians are now cringey after it. Tit for tat.

>The fedora meme is probably the single most forced meme in Internet history.

an action can be moral or immoral regardless of the consequences faced for doing the action.

isn't this a fundamental part of secular morality?

if you steal something, and don't get caught and punished, was the action moral all along?

dark because no happenings, whitey was left to be whitey

Sam was the only one of the "four horseman" to provide a substitute instead of a void for religion, though Dan Dennett provided some philosophical clarity explaining free will.

The only fault I find with Sam is that he's a humanist. Such a fairy tale ideology - you can have compassion for all human beings and still recognize that without group identity there is just death at the hands that do.

>Its fedora to support a populist president in a large population country

no, the action continues to be immoral because stealing is stealing. not to say that it can't be weighted. If you for example stole a bicycle to save a little girl being abducted for example, i'd still commend you.

Doing things for god's love is still motivation over true morals, especially when that love is almost certainly going to be judged.

I think if there was truly an omnipotent being with the ability to grant eternity. He would certainly understand why i did what and when. I mean we're talking about someone who lives an eternity in a second, time isn't an issue and your entire life is to be judged after death and how many materials my clothing was woven from is a grading point.

They went from watching atheist Youtube videos to browsing Sup Forums

That's pretty much it. People without an firm identity latch easily to social movements

i didnt care about brexit. i dont care about trump.

i just lack the constitution for suicide.

>Doing things for god's love is still motivation over true morals
so now you're saying if there is a consequence, then it's not TRUE morality?
my point was that there doesn't necessarily have to be any consequences for moral truth values to exist objectively.

>how many materials my clothing was woven from is a grading point.
you're only expected to follow this ritual purity ceremonial precept if you're a member of the theocratic state that was set up during the old covenant.
it was more about whether or not you're doing as you were told or rebelling than whether or not you're wearing mixed fabrics.

>He would certainly understand why i did what and when.
because you are broken and depraved and not worthy of life eternal without the cleaning blood of Christ.

Just as the Jews infested and destroyed Christianity from within, so did they consume Atheism with Atheism+

funny stuff

alright a bit of a strawman in the first sentence, swap out consequence for motivation.

It's the truth though. Can you think of any other meme that has been more forced? The fedora meme was forced for years until it finally gained traction. Forced by memesters of the modern era.

Besides, in all honesty, the responses that guy gave seems to be Sup Forums in it's natural state, minus the trilby thing.

If someone has defined themselves or their image as alt right and call people who disagree cucks thats pretty gay. Ive never seen anyone do that. Seems like someone got butthurt and made this because they lost an argument to someone who quoted statistics and were like "wow what a fedora nerd. Cringe"

>yfw

>Shitpost

>pathological denial

this desu senpai.

Atheists can never be truly happy and thus living depressing lives

An atheist who lives a happy religious life is a hypocrit as well

Keep up the greentext my man im sure it will convince people.

>why there is suddenly so many people jumping on the "alt-right" edge lord train?
People grow up and out of their liberal atheist phase. It's not too hard to understand.

outside incentive vs intentions might cause a miscommunication here.

im saying someone who doesn't steal something they want because it belongs to the other person and they don't want to cause harm is morally superior to someone who doesn't take it because they're being watched.

>because you are broken and depraved and not worthy of life eternal without the cleaning blood of Christ.

and this is where Christians really start to lose me, the arbitrary rituals necessary to receive proper judgement doesn't sound like an omnipotent god.
>this is how many times you've made people happy
>this is how many times you've caused harm
>this is that time you ate a hot dog on a friday during Lent

Should've got your free subway voucher from Ray Comfort

It's ok. We've all been where you are

Believe in yourself

There were only a few biblethumpers there, there was one section where they would congregate and the cucks would run up to them and say this is my chance to use all those arguments i've been saving up for jehovah's witnesses!!!1!!

I used to think new atheists were pretty cool but now I'm convinced half of them are just there because it's a cause to 'fight' for and feel good about themselves, just like SJWs. I've more or less removed myself.

My issue with Islam has always been entirely based on race. They're a filthy mongrel horde forcing an alien ideology into the West, which is reason enough alone to despise it.

It's just pragmatism/realism. I am an atheist and always have been, don't care for religion and all the hoky doky church singing and such, but who gives a damn if others enjoy it? As far as Christianity is concerned, I defend it's ideals because they're congruent to the nations values and it provides a cultural backbone. You don't need high taxation to redistribute wealth when the rich give to the poor for Gods sake. You don't need high policing when people treat eachother with respect due to religious/morality concerns. It's an answer to the many problems that the state tries to solve, and it keeps the people tethered together.

He's also vegetarian I get very tired of hearing him talk about the morality of eating meat. They're fucking cows, mate.

Laggards in internet adoption, it isn't the same people.

Serious discussion on the internet was dominated early on by educated people. As more people used the internet the kids were distracted by video games, stupids were distracted by shopping, media, and porn, and the few who did make it to various forums got their shit kicked in if they espoused racist, homophobic, or other extreme right views.

Then came the age of social media and smartphones. Everyone is online now and spewing their thoughts and views about everything because it is so easy. Companies that provided services on the internet learned to make their services increasingly accessible and usable.

The bottom-of-the-barrel, the laggards which have a high proportion of stupids, have gotten online in the last few years. The children of stupids, the white trash and rednecks, who grew up with the internet have found places like Sup Forums and have formed identities around being alt-right edgelords.

TL;DR blame Facebook.

The people having to say "Islam is not a race" and "It has nothing to do with race" are not the same people saying "I despise all religions equally" and "Christian conservative and radical Muslims are two sides of the same coin."

That's like saying Dawkins and Cenk Yogurt hold the same position on religions.

>someone who doesn't take it because they're being watched.
whether or not God is watching doesn't necessarily rule out the motivation for doing whatever is moral being love.

>friday night hotdog
if God says jump, and you don't jump, you're in rebellion.

>this is that time you ate a hot dog on a friday during Lent
would be better stated as
>this is that time you acted in defiance of my command.
if we're really assuming eating a hotdog on lent is something He's prescribed against.

>le chonz used to be liberal dude

t. newfag

The one on top is still the one atheists follow. The one on the bottom is christfags getting more vocal.

oh, boi. This is the guy who made the "my gf got rapid on vacation" bait thread.
