Other than that I can only think of Binary Domain, and it isn't a movie

Do androids count?
Blade Runner and Westworld are the best in their respective mediums.

Blade Runner is barely AI though. It's just a sci fi special effects film.

What? It is a horrible movie that ruins Isaac Asimov's vision.

Darkstar for the AI bit.

Still better than alternatives

What is it with Will Smith and films that miss the point of their source material?

Virus
Ex Machina

Bicenntenial Man, fuck the cynic pricks desu

it really isn't though. it is literally bottom of the barrel shlock.

What was the original vision?

oh and Black Hole by Disney. A weird kids film with one of those dark and boring plots that slowly creeps up on you with a disturbing reveal

Not him but I, Robot is a collection of short stories. The movie has more in common with the novel Caves of Steel, but isn't particularly accurate to that one either.

white men's paradise, he was the original drumpfag

This.
When I saw I Am Legend (iigtbqhwyf I liked it a lot) I was excited to read the book. I went on Wikipedia to get a quick rundown on the novel, and sure enough, it was NOTHING like the movie.

Obligatory

The film misses the point anyway. The story and title only make sense with the book ending, because he is the boogeyman. The evil creature who comes at night to kill you.

It's a clever story really. Richard Matheson is pretty good in general, he also did the best Twilight Zone episodes.

The book is amazing and everyone should read it.

The Bicentennial Man

Wasnt the omega man with charleton heston an adaptation of this?

Ghost in the Shell

Yes it was, and before that there was a version with Vincent Price.

Her
Fuck you, it's good

Ex Machina is the only decent AI film.

>i watched melodrama with a robot and now i alan turing

No it's not. The ending sucks.

>no ones mentioned 2001 yet
Buncha plebs on this board i swear

>Evolver
>Deadly Friend
>Death Machine

2001 is assumed poseur

The alternate ending, the one included in the extended cut, actually rounds out the movie so that it aligns more closely with the book. It's just a more satisfying ending in general with the stuff that's already in the movie.

But they went with the bland ending instead for general audiences.

>2001
>good

please, post your Intro to Film 101 thesis.

Making the zombies barely sentient ruins it for me really.

HAL is not the focus of 2001 though

>Evolver
The only fucking robot to ever manage to kill Star Treks Q

Doesn't make it bad if you wanted a cathartic ending. It worked for the story they wanted to tell

Is that the one that has a robot overlord that tries to give robots emotions and succeeds but thinks he failed, gets pissed and kills himself?

Underrated Kino

Will anyone ever been btfo this hard again?

That flick Real Steel is aparently based on a Richard Matheson story. Found a copy of it in a dollar shop with the films poster plastered as the cover.

Are you kidding me, that whole movie is a goddamn commercial. Only Americans would accept this trash.

Sonny is one of the most tolerable full CGI characters I've ever seen in film.

>hating americans while posting on an american barbeque sauce forum and shitposting about american films

Spielbergs 'A.I' is excellent. Shit made me cry

It is, but it's based on one of his twilight zone episodes.
