What went wrong Sup Forums

Brian happened

Writers room is full of faggots who think they're smart.

Nothing, it's a better show than it used to be Sup Forums is just just full sissy boys

its more-or-less the same writers from the beginning or at least season 4. what changed about them?

It thinks it can use pop culture references and vulgarity in place of actual humor.

No user. What went WRONG

Reminder that they did pic related literally years after this was already an ancient meme.

To use another ancient meme, it basically painted the whole show as "How Do You Do, Fellow Edgy Teens?: The Animated Series"

Tried to be something more than passable background noise. Pic related is one of the worst things ever produced for television. Whoever approved this should be blacklisted from the industry

Seth MacFarlane pretty much gave up and pretty much admitted that he can't write cartoons for shit. That's why Brian is a perfect caricature of him.

As in Seth survived it?

It was never good in the first place.

Why does he wear the banana suit?

>Stewie went from being the evil baby to the gay baby
>Brian went from the intellectual best friend to the liberal dirtbag
>Lois went from the loving mother to the useless character
>Peter went from the idiot but well meaning father to a retard
>chris and meg are both fine.

They got way too specific about jokes to the point they feel the need for characters to actively explain them.
They let the characters become so flanderized that they've all become wholly unlikable.

It's become a chore to sit through an episode.

>chris and meg are both fine
Meg went from a girl trying to survive to a bitch with a goldmine for gross-out/bullying jokes. Chris however is lost on what he's suppose to be.

The characters are assholes

>he can't write cartoons for shit
What about Johnny Bravo?

characters started losing character
and the try to touch topics of other cartoons (I.E losing someone they romantically loved to another man), and then make shitty morals out of it.
the moral of that episode was "if you have feelings for someone else, keep it to yourself!"
what a godawful show this is

Both are /thread

When it's not trying to be shocking, it fails at trying at being deep and emotional.

they tried to take serious things in a comedic tone also the hurricane episodes

Nowhere near as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It's no American Dad but it's watchable.

>Pic related is one of the worst things ever produced for television.
Followed by this AD episode, followed by all seasons of Cleveland Show

It became able to do whatever it wanted

Stewie got better, then worse

>They got way too specific about jokes to the point they feel the need for characters to actively explain them.

I hate this shit so much and they do it all the damn time.

There was a skit where Peter tries to dive into coins like Scrooge McDuck, and ends up hurting himself. It's not funny but it's serviceable. It's an easy joke.
But then they have to have Peter explain WHY jumping into the coins hurt him.
Along with this, they have to show Peter's body as realistically mangled from the damage, with his limbs and face broken and bloodied, and his bones sticking out of his flesh, which turns what would have been a slapstick gag into something painful to watch.

They took such an easy joke and yet completely bombed at telling it because they had to draw it out with needless bullshit.

Independent Movie was fucking brilliant, what's wrong with you.

Remember when Stewie got pregnant and gave birth to abominations?

remember when family guy said that kinky women are abusers?
