The first part was weird and I didn't make it any farther cause the drug wore off.

Even Lynch himself said it's just a bunch of random scenes he shot. Can't wait to see how the pseudo-intellectuals on Sup Forums will defend this trash

Hmm ... you're not wrong

takes one to know one. down voted.

it's trash, just lynch mocking on the people who want a deep meaning in his movies

Silly viewers, why do you want plot an quality.

possibly the second more tiresome "banter" ever produced by Sup Forums behind "reply to this post or your mother will die"

This is a stupid interpretation of his words. First of all, he didn't just point the camera and close his eyes. He would get inspiration for a scene or moment and film it. And then as more and more individual scenes surfaced, he began piecing them together and seeing how they all connected. This method is no less valid then planning everything out ahead of time. With Lynch, the process took place on camera rather than just his head, but it's the same process

oh ho LOL you posted it again aahahaha that's so funny I didn't see that coming at all good one!

Yes. It's dark and confusing, and overwhelms the senses with force that very few films have ever reached. It feels like it physically washes over you. It's so fun and rewarding to unravel the mystery, and the ending is so uplifting. My favorite Lynch to be honest

if you think this is good, you should start by watching more movies

Where did this idea that every director mocks the viewers through their art come from? How could you even get that cynical?

>every director

not true, just lynch, and not in every movie either, just this

I'm not just talking about this, I swear every other thread about any film that isn't a big blockbuster has someone saying that same thing.

He's not trying to troll his audience, he's just putting out ideas that he liked on film and letting them draw their own conclusions. It's more like when you make music and the plot takes a back seat to the art of it. I think that's interesting and a lot of the scenes in Inland Empire are powerful, so if you can let go of that Batman vs Superman need for linear narrative it can be good.

If i want drawn out, uncomfortable close ups I watch Cassavetes. My Reddit friends recommended this movie so I avoid it like the shit it probably is.

My friend who likes reddit likes chocolate ice cream so fuck chocolate ice cream. I hate it!

had to watch it because its a prequel to mulholland drive

He'll die before that happens.

What the hell is a tripod? We don't need that.
