The 39 Steps
The Spy Who Came in from the Cold
The Ipcress File
Mission Impossible

>All Bond films
>Man from UNCLE (not the best but ok)
>Bourne series
>The Equalizer
>Taken
>Mission Impossible IV
>North by Northwest
>True Lies
>Argo

this one too.

I remember The Manchurian Candidate being pretty good but it was a while since I seen it

Why are there so few movies with stealth? A stealth sequence like the ones in MGS, do they even exist in film?

Why are the few movies with arcade stealth? Fuck knows my man

Does it have to be realistic, like a suspense thriller, or more over-the-top action? Or maybe a little bit of both (pic related)?

The Collector, but it's a horror movie.

The Good Shepherd

Highly underrated

most of that isnt spycore its operatorkino

get your shit straight

The Quiet American
Charlie Wilson's War
La Femme Nikita
True Lies

faggots

Is it possible to finish this film without falling asleep?

I fell asleep in the cinema watching that shite

Only if you gain an attention span

Do you know what a "spy" does?

Bridge of Spies

...

>google "Espionage films"
>get lists of action and operating shit that doesn't have actual espionage
>google "spy films"
>even worse list

>Espionage (colloquially, spying) is the obtaining of information considered secret or confidential without the permission of the holder of the information.Spies are usually for helping agencies to unfold a secret

Deutschland 83
The Americans

...

you're right that they're mostly not spy kino, but none of it is Operator Kino either

Lose some weight, that helps

Deutschland 83 really loses it in the last few episodes. First few are great though.

le bureau, a series

L'ambassadeur

Metal Gear Solid 4 is a good stealth movie.

Yeah it really pushes it, but I found it enjoyable still

>the longer the list, the shittier the taste

Anybody notice that?

Yeah, it's still enjoyable, but it doesn't quite reach the heights of the setup and first few episodes. Couldn't really find it in me to give a shit about the AIDS subplot either.

this

the BBC adaptations of Tinker,Tailor and Smiley's People both star Alec Guinness

you can find them on Youtubby

It's almost 3 hours long

What is Bourne if not operator kino?

Too bad it got axed so soon. I blame the CIA. Got too close to truth.

The Lives of others
The conversation

Although not too sure if most people in here would consider them spy movies.

The BBC adaptations of Tinker, Tailor... and Smiley's People are both great, if a little hard to follow at times.

That both date to a era when dramas produced by the Beeb were more sedately-paced, did not insult the intelligence of viewers, and were not slathered with superfluous music at every opportunity.

The cast is superb, Alec Guinness and Beryl Reid in particular.

No, these are spy films. What retards want is "AGENTS DOING MUH OPERATOR ACKOOOOON"

Any list without the The Conversation or Three Days of the Condor is a shit list.

Spy Game is great. Action-packed but still lighthearted.

Was he a spy though? That ending was super ambiguous.

Day of the Jackal

At least it is assassin kino.

That came a bit late in the thread.

Anyway. Here's a "complete" list. Enjoy.

Meant to reply to .

Spy Game is indeed great. Realistic spy thriller.

Here's part 2.

I cannot believe no one posted this yet

Spykids 1.

Spy Game

The GOAT.

One of the most overrated TV shows ever.

Says who? did you watch the first 5 seasons?, the last season did't air yet how would you know? and if so why was it nominated for Emmy's?
it's unironically one of the best dramas ever.

>mixing action with spy films

I got the book version of this for free from the college my mom works at

What a fucking clusterfuck. There's like 1000 characters that each have four pages of presence and they all have non sensical names that make it hard to remember who's who.

I guess the movie is better

>A stealth sequence like the ones in MGS, do they even exist in film?

The Great Escape

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Films_based_on_works_by_John_le_Carré

The american, (not the series)

All the Jack Ryan films

The cambridge spies (bbc miniseries)

Spooks (another bbc series)

Runaway jury, has more tradecraft than 80% mentioned here.

The recruit had the potential of being a sÿ movie, but turned shit action flick.

After the first two movies James Bond turned in to some action drama shit, no spy/tradecraft in any way.

Tinker tailor soldier spy is one of the best spykino, IMHO. (havent seen a most wanted man, though)

XXX with Vin Diesel is just the ´´´´spy´´´´film for you :^)

>OSS 117
YOU DIDN'T

FUCKING. THIS.

Just got back, and Jesus Christ, it's soooooo fucking good.

>dat stairwell fight

Eat your fucking heart out, capeshit. (I know it's based on a GN, but goddamn.)

Enemy of the State is good, and I'm sure it was an inspiration for the TV show Person of Interest which has a lot of espionage, but also action too, and it starts going more towards sci-fi at the end but the finale is pure espionage.

fuck that poster

we get it you're gay

youtube.com/watch?v=oJJfIh_vGnw

Also recommending Three Days of the Condor. The main character is vulnerable and has to use his wits to survive. So many "spy" movies let characters shoot their way out of any situation.

Homeland, tv series
Marathon man

cleanskin
the departed
traitor

gay

The good shepherd is dope as fuck
