They generally focus on a single event of the day per episode, looping until they could memorize and solve the challenge it presented.
This actually sounds better on paper. The execution is very poor, with bland writing, sophomoric humor, and loud, grating voice performances, particularly from the main character. The animation is solid but boring, and it often feels the only reason they went with the groundhog's day concept is to reuse assets.
Big step back from the barely adequate Grojband. It's Canadian Butch Hartman, and that's being slightly unfair to Butch.

I had an idea for a movie similar to this. Basically get rid of the beginning and end to Groundhog Day and just have it all be about a single guy trapped in the same day for the rest of eternity. At first he starts doing silly shit using the knowledge he has of how every day is going to play out but it progressively becomes darker as he starts to accept the fact that there are literally no repercussions for his actions. One day he's a do-gooder average joe who's always at the right place at the right time and the next he's a psychotic serial killer. Things get even darker once he makes the realization that he is being forced to experience the same day the same exact way no matter what he does so he begins to break his own already questionable moral values in the hope that he can spend that single day differently than the last hundred million. Because that's what would really break you. Not the fact that there's no way out, but that there's a finite amount of actions you could make and only so many ways you can try to do the same thing over and over again until it becomes repetitive
