It's not though, that would make sense solely for the X-Men but most of the audience for these movies were turbo normies as kids, and many of these super heroes (Ironman, Thor, Black Panther, etc) had absolutely 0 mainstream pop culture presence for normies in the 80s and 90s, they were only around in comics which you can be sure these people never touched and likely beat up the people who did.
