How about a Palestinian super-hero fighting the occupation?

Why doesn't she lose some weight?

Doesn't even look appealing from a fetish aspect. If I can't fap to it, what's the point?

So here's how this thread always goes

>Anons who don't read the book ask how she's fat if she's a superhero
>Anons who like Valiant shit all three of them get superbutthurt that people are making fat jokes about their waifu

Because then she would be catering to the male gaze and [insert more feminist blathering here]

>Look everyone she's cool, she uses emoticons and know retro gaming just like you

apex kek

this could actually be great but it'd have to be done masterfully and no matter what people would throw an absolute shitfit

I feel like unless being fat was part of the superpower that a fat person who gained superpowers would make some effort to get in shape

She's got the crazy eyes. Whenever I see that much of the sclera I get creeped out.

Would plow into oblivion.

It would be better if it was a Hebrew Hero fending off the Muslim incursion on their holy land

...

>Muslim superhero who fights against ISIS
>Not even a westernized, 'moderate' Muslim, but a highly conservative one who sometimes clashes with western notions of morality

Too rational.

Soros stopped funding femen when they opened a branch in shitsrael.

This.
"Normal" muslims hate ISIS and that's "normal"

An atheist super hero in a muslim country, who have to pretend being religious.

That makes sense because no atheist would be warrior mode agaisnt islam

Why, though? No, seriously. I suppose it'd depend on how she got her powers, exactly -- I remember "Invincible" made a point early on of Mark starting an exercise regimen since his 'powers' came directly from his alien physiology -- but would a Green Lantern Ring really care if its bearer weighed 280lbs? Does the Speed Force become less speedy if your thighs clap together when you run?

Harada was right.

People really don't know shit about 20th century history, do they?

>"I don't think we should throw them off buildings, but homosexuality should be illegal."

He is basically vindicated in fall of harbinger.

I dunno about Flash but since GLs are space cops, I would assume they'd want to be in good physical shape and well trained in case they were ever in a situation where they were without their rings.

Why the fuck not? Seriously why the fuck is anyone fucking fat who doesn't have a medical problem like hyperthyroidism?

A superhero at least has the social pressure of all the other superheroes being supermodels and mr. universes so it makes no sense to be a fatass unless you want everyone making fun of you even more.

Even presidential candidates lose weight nowadays and everyone makes fun of president Taft for being such a fat fuck.

How about a sane person that has to write for Kotaku or some similar site.

>atheist superhero who pretends to be muslim for the public

Wouldn't that be most monarchs of the middle east? Or even if they aren't atheists, most of the Muslim kings and princes are notoriously shit at the whole living as a humble Muslim who doesn't get shitfaced thing.

And from based Imperium we devolve back to whiny Harbingers. Gross.
At least there'll be Generation Zero.

They are no heroes. They exploid the religion, if they believe it themself or not. They keep the status quo and don't want to change it.

So, superheroes?

And the dude who's into lardasses posts keeping the thread up top.

I'd rather have a avatar press shitfit than boring and predicable.

Hell, even a hebrew hero, with all the fuckers angry about every little thing there, the ultra orthodox, the government, the hippies, all pissed at him no matter what.

Nope. Which means we're doomed to repeat it.

That's just because people are dicks to each other so they can feel superior.

Just like everyone mocks Trump's her while the guy is a billionaire businessman.

This is Tumblr the comic isn't it?

...So is this not a story time thread? Does this thread have a purpose?

You aren't outraged because there's fat girl in comic nobody reads?
Really?

I read like the first six issues of Harbinger so I know she has superpowers that don't rely on her physical state and that has been around for years before she got her own series. I also remember the main character of that series mind-control raping a woman in the first issue so I'm pretty sure Valiant isn't SJW shit.

>(of 4)
Wait, there were people mad about a fucking mini?

>I also remember the main character of that series mind-control raping a woman in the first issue

I bet it was portrayed in a non-great way. Fucking SJWS polluting comics with their agenda.

Thanks, bumping for when I get back.

shes so pretty!

>Palestine superhero
>In a Jewish industry

Is her comic any good?

You misspelled "Israeli hero fighting off the invading Palestinian hordes"

If it was a superhero who just happened to be fat, it could be fine. The character would still be a joke because fat people are laughable, but it wouldn't be as smug and shameful. This is not that. It's a series based entirely on the fatness of the character. That's all there is to it, it's blatant fatty pandering as you can tell from the covers.

Would they do the same with a bulimic girl? How can anyone defend using overweight or underweight as the basis for a character?

Do you read Valiant?

>Why the fuck not? Seriously why the fuck is anyone fucking fat who doesn't have a medical problem like hyperthyroidism?

Because it's extremely easy to put on weight and way harder (at least in terms of time invested) to lose it and even the idle rich don't like restricting their diet and working out all the time.

Bait-O-Meter: 7 out of 10

Not bad. Projecting your own smugness and condescension on a comic and it's creators is always a good foundation. Nice use of the false equivalency too. Good work, kiddo

And for the record, I think Faith is a fun, decent by-the-numbers super-hero book. Maybe the gag of her being an Ascended Fangirl could get tired if they're not careful, but we'll see.

Fatah or Hamas man would be pretty badass.

Really?

If any Sup Forums fatass got flight powers do you really imagine they'd actually finally get off their asses and eat healthy to get in shape?

Cause I'd bet money that they'd just float everywhere and if anything just get fatter while thinking they're superior and don't need to change because of their powers.

"good physical shape" Is pretty relative and unclear when over half the cops aren't humanoid and anyway overreliance on the rings is a reoccurring plot point.

Do it like Boxers and saints.

>Seriously why the fuck is anyone fucking fat who doesn't have a medical problem like hyperthyroidism?
CICO

Why does Faith trigger Sup Forums so hard?

It's not bad, but not really worth reading either. There is no hamfisted fat acceptance stuff that you might expect looking at the cover, but there is also hardly anything original. It's just a very average cape comic with a main character who happens to be fat.

>Planet transitions to boob
Like pottery.

>False equivalency
Being overweight is not as severe as being bulimic, but it is still a major health problem, and should not be held to role model status.
>Joints, blood clots, heart failure, liver failure, diabetes
It's really no coincidence that fat people ride around on disability scooters and use oxygen tanks despite having no major injuries or genetic diseases.

Not sure if fat, or just same artist from Morrison's New X-Men.

is this meant to appeal to fat fetishists? i'm a fat sow of a "woman" and i would never want to read this.

because it's a mediocre comic with a laughable premise

How about an ex-muslim superheroe that fights extremists? Calls herself Kaffir and a good part of her face is disfigured because a family member trew acud on it?

>Crossover with Kamala
I'd like it, but there'd be a shitfest

I don't see any people being upset ITT.

Faith only triggers people who haven't read the comic, anyway. Hell, if the artist didn't draw her with a face of a 40-year-old, Sup Forums would probably waifu her.

What's the laughable premise?

Honestly, I don't know who the comic is supposed to appeal to. It's got no preaching to appeal to the tumblr crowd, it's got no perversion to appeal to fat fetishists, it's got no continuity/reference porn to appeal to capeshit fans, and finally, it's neither original nor well-written enough to appeal to regular folks.

I had to unfollow Valiant on twitter because they wouldn't stop posting her fat fucking face.

It appeals to people who actually read Valiant comics and have known Faith for 4 years.

an obese superhero

She has psychic powers. Read a comic someday.

I don't care if she has psychic powers
fat superheroes/villains make sense with shit like Fat chance from Venture Bros where it's in his name and his power (pulling rando shit out of his belly) is relevant
it's just a fat character for the sake of being fat

>Obese superhero
>Obese
>Superhero
I'm laffin.

How is it ridiculous that a person who can fly without moving a muscle would be fat?

Because she eats too much and doesn't exercise enough.

She's not supposed to be flawless.

So they're counting on people who really like a side character in a minor continuity, and don't even care if her own mini turns out to be thoroughly un-exciting? That's hardly a sound business plan.

I don't care if Superman has solar powers
toned superheroes/villains make sense with shit like Muscle Man from Regular Show where it's in his name and his power (pulling rando bodybuilder poses) is relevant
it's just a toned character for the sake of being toned

Does she fly to McDonald's? How can you remain inactive to the point of obesity when you have fucking superpowers?

They're relying on people who buy their comics, how is that a bad plan?

at that point the point of her being fat just seems like a really cheap gimmick
not saying it's Tumblr: The Comic or anything, it just seems like a stupid hook

WAAAAHHHH!!! They made a super-heroine I can't fap to! They can't DO that! It's against the RULES! Make the bad men stoppit, Mommy!

Time change, son. Deal with it.

I literally just explained it, are you retarded?

>My flaw is being a fat slob who has poor eating habits and severely low level of physical activity
>I am not actively trying to change this, and my comic has a subtle implication that this is okay and should be accepted
>Good thing I have psychic powers, now I can be my own fat scooter
Amazing.

jesus, projecting much? u mad, bro?
I'm just saying it comes off as stupid and pointless.
>muh it's 2016 argument
okay, john oliver
also, the joke's on you: I like fat chicks and would totally masturbate to r34 of faith

Does she just fly everywhere and handle all situations with her mind? Because unless her psychic power is OP to the max, how is she supposed to rely totally on her power without the need to physically do anything?

Is her kryptonite diabetes? Or maybe a celery stick?

It's not really a gimmick, she just happens to be obese. They aren't going for any body-positivity messages or anything. Like, Power Girl has big boobs that are totally irrelevant to the plot, why does Faith's big belly trigger you?

>People are butthurt that a company they've never paid attention to is making a comic they'll never read about a character they've never heard of
Come on, most of you don't even read big 2.

Kid, if you honestly don't understand the problem people have with the "B-but she's FAT!!!" argument, then nobody can explain it to you. It *is* 2016, and in 2016, publishers are trying to sell comics to other people besides white male geeks. You can like that or not, but you guys' problem is that you insist on taking it as some sort of personal insult. And that just makes you look silly.

...Why don't you, y'know, read the comic? It's four thin issues.

>john oliver
lol what? What does Oliver have to do with this?

it doesn't trigger me, I just think it's a silly gimmick for a mediocre comic book.
apparently you can't make fun of bad comics on Sup Forums because it triggers the SJW aspies who migrated here from Tumblr
>kid
I'm 25 years old
>it's 2016!
Faith doesn't sell well, it's just a niche comic.

I'm not sure why people get so triggered when people make fun of the Faith comics. They're just not that good.

I don't see people coming out of the woodworks, foaming at the mouth when people make fun of Rob Liefield

John Oliver has a few segments where he showcases some conservative viewpoints and follows it with "it's fucking 2016!" like that's supposed to be an argument.
it's a meme, you dip.

>My flaw is being an underage fucker who has poor grades and severely low level of physical activity
>I am not actively trying to change this, and my comic has a subtle implication that this is okay and should be accepted
>Good thing I have wizard powers, now I can be my own dad who can beat up your dad

>and follows it with "it's fucking 2016!" like that's supposed to be an argument.
"It's 2016" isn't a good argument in and of itself but I've never seen Oliver say anything that wasn't correct. There is a lot of shit that shouldn't still exist in the present, especially conservative viewpoints.

>it's a meme, you dip.
How am I supposed to know that if I've never been exposed to it before?

I'm fairly shocked you've never heard of the meme since it's a fairly common one on Sup Forums, you must not come here often. which is fine, but it shows.

*sigh* Like I said: silly.

she's cute but I don't really like that her name/uniform don't really tell me anything about her powers or theme.

The comic is indeed mediocre, but it doesn't treat Faith's body shape as a gimmick, it treats it very matter-of-factly.
Also, you're not "making fun" of anything, you're just randomly calling the comic stupid and bad without looking past the cover.

>Comic about a lazy superheroine

If the bitch was active enough to be a hero, she wouldn't be so fat. This book pretends that's not the case, right? Does she eat right and exercise but just can't get rid of it because DAMN
>pause to chew food
GENETICS

So, can there be fat male superheroes, or do they still have to be 10/10 eye candy?

The answer to both questions is sadly "generic".

>uniform doesn't tell me about her theme
She likes to fuckin' eat.

"But she's FAT! Don'tcha get it? FAT!! She's a FAT super-heroine!! FatFatFAAAAAAAT!!!!

(beat)

FAT!"

Yeah, we heard. So?
